Like, as in, every single mage build, Soul Reaver?

Anubis? Soul Reaver. He Bo? Soul Reaver. Athena? Soul Reaver. Loki? Soul Reaver (Or he would).

Is there any benefit at all to the item? I can't find any. It's expensive as hell for a mediocre at best item.

Pretty useless item , i just buy it sometimes for fun with ao if i want to hit the MP cap.

Nope. The only use I think I can get out of it is 1 v 1 joust.

The problem is that it is an automated effect when the effect was meant to be manually activated.

It's a very situational item. It gives a nice flat 100 power but so does bancroft's which is cheaper and gives life steal.
SR should only be picked up by vulcan or against very tanky teams, which is the only situation pro's actually pick it up.

Its a late game item so the mana is worthless on it.
never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

The only exception I can think of is someone with a huge nuke that would kill any squishy gods anyway. Like Earthshaker or spirit's tempest, as insurance so that any tankier characters like bruisers or tanks would outright die from it.

And still, you'll fare better on any god getting Book of Thoth instead of Soul Reaver.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
