I can't find a solid build for Odin but I've been trying to build defensively. The only problem is that he hits like a wet noodle. He may as well not have a weapon unless you're using his 3 ability which is awesome.

I like the added mini-map range. I love the way his default model looks. I like his weapon. I love that in group fights I can lock down the enemy team while Posieden unleashes the kraken for some double, triple, and even quad kills sometimes.

All that being said, I can throw all protection/hp gear on him and he's really not as tanky as he should be AND he can't output any damage hardly.

Does anyone have a current build for Odin that works well? None of the builds in the build section seem to be current. It's like Odin was popular for awhile and then got nerfed into obscurity so no one bothers even fielding him which is a shame because he has one of the coolest looking models in the game and his skills have awesome potential. It rocks to lock 2 people in the ring with you and come out alive, the only problem is that they usually come out alive as well.

Not be as tanky as he should be? Say WAT. I have survived so much **** as tank Odin it's ridiculous. I have survived a five man chase through an entire lane, and also a penta ult combo. Seriously, he can take stupid amounts of damage.

That said, he's usually better built bruiser. I don't have a set build really, but I will typically take Warrior Tabi, Focused Voidblade and either a Runic Shield or Bulwark of Hope. I take these pretty much all the time. Other picks include Mystical Mark if I meet a physical opponent in solo lane, Jotunn's Wrath if I want damage, Sovereignty if I really need the tankiness and don't have the Mystical Mark, Hide of the Urchin or Hide of the Leviathan for mixed defenses and CC reduction etc. Just make sure you get at the very least two offensive items with penetration and at least one defensive item per defensive stat and you're doing something right.

Alternatively, if everyone else on your team is a squishy you can go full tank and be the teams main initiator. This leads to poor damage but you can really tank **** like a boss, especially once you put up your Ring of Spears.

I just went with a predominantly offensive build in arena and played it hit and run. I used Warrior Tabi and Focused Voidblade. I also used the ice hammer thing that slows your opponents when you hit with a basic melee. People actually backed up away from me instead of just swatting at me a few times, giving up, then out running me.

Go protection, Voidblade (focused or normal WE works best with the team), penetration (Titan's most likely) and finish with a Deathbringer :P

I usually pick up Ankh when I play Odin. It gives good defense and damage.

Yet on average I keep him tanky cause I only play him when my team has a Zeus or Pos.

Ankh is amazing in my builds for Odin. It singularly changed how I build for him. I get sad when I see Magic heavy comps because I know I'm going to have to step up my Magic Defense which takes away from my damage output but it's classic to shut down some of these guys that play Magic Gods to take advantage that most newer players don't compensate for that. I can almost see them being incredulous when they drop their nukes and it barely scratches me.

I think the biggest thing about Odin I like is that I can shut down Loki, Poseidon, and Freya if I build for it. I would argue that Odin is better suited for middle lane than Poseidon because his 2 buffs the attack speed of the entire creep line and that really helps with pushing and maintaining pressure early game.

In comparison, Poseidon can clear the entire wave using only Whirlpool and Tidal Surge at lvl 2. Poseidon has much better push than Odin.

Yeah... good point. That's rather depressing. Save the game vote Nerf on proposition Poseidon. lol

There's one major gripe I have about Odin... his Ultimate. It sucks and just about every character has a means to jump out of it and completely avoid it. Meanwhile Odin gets locked out of his jump ability every time any other god uses their Ult. So why can't Odin's Ult lock out every other god's escape ability like his gets locked?

What's the reasoning behind this? It makes no sense.

Well on the other end of that, it forces other players to save their leaps for that instead of being able to use them anywhere else. It also forces other people to buy combat blink instead of another active. If they don't and said odin has a pocket Zeus or Poseidan; then said enemy is dead.
