For all the new players here. Right sometimes you get paired up with those who are more experienced? And in those games you just get rages from them, telling you how to play. Or getting real angry at your build or angry that your doing the wrong things.

Well you should listen to them. Don't argue back because thinking they're being ***es. They have played the game more AND have experienced the same abuse when they started out. Learn from your mistakes and learn from others. Don't be a toxic player and be blind or deaf. Not listening to what they're pointing out.

So if your wondering why they're **** talking you? Because either you didn't listen to them in the first place or your just to stubborn to play cooperatively thinking that your way is the right way making you the "****" yourself.

Don't take it negatively, their just random strangers. But if they give advice then they CARE about how you play. They want you to play right for the WHOLE team. Not just for you.

Joke post?... I really hope so. This is like marriage counseling from the 1920s.

The proper way to help people who are struggling is to not make them feel like ****, then offer suggestions as to how they should play things differently. A lot of times the person doing poorly knows what they did wrong or just had a bad game, and making the gaming experience worse for them is something that would happen a lot less if society wasn't filled with people who get off on making others feel like ****.

Let's be honest, the percentage of ragers who legitimately want to help is in the single digits.

Nothing makes me want to surrender quicker than having that jerk on the team who calls out teammates for simple mistakes. I'd rather lose on a team that jokes around and shrugs a bad game off than win when the jerk carried us while reminding us about how much we suck the whole time.

Lol. I'm just saying that some players should know their own fault and not try to argue with those who are more experienced. They try to make excuses for their bad play: like saying they're on a laptop or have bad fps. I've seen a lot of excuses for bad play like that. :/

At no time is abusing the player the right answer. If you offer legitimate help and they come back with hostility, an excuse (and the ones you listed aren't always BS,) or some other indication that they're not going to listen to you, just back off. Harassment is one of the main options of the report feature for a reason. One toxic player is better than two. Once you start raging back at that player you ruin the game for the whole team. You can't help everyone; just try to make up for their deficiencies during the game, then block them afterwards if they're hostile and resistant to help.

There's a very big difference between explaining why rushing void blade in a solo lane against Hel is bad versus telling someone to stop sucking after they feed a little. Bad games happen to everyone.

The world is not perfect you know, and this is an MOBA... You can't changed how people would react. some would be ***es some would just be quiet about it. AND it's fine if its not to bad of an abuse. I do it but no swear words. I just use sarcasticness.

Your original post seemed pretty clear in that you can teach players to be better at the game by being abusive towards them, which is just completely wrong in my opinion. If your goal is to improve the overall play level of the game by driving bad players away, then by all means, abuse players. You're right that it's a MOBA, and the ubiquity of hostility towards teammates is a rather unfortunate plague of the genre.

Offering advice or constructive criticism isn't abuse. Saying 'nice build' to a tank who built Stone of Gaia or Gauntlet of Thebes before Eye of Providence after they die isn't abusive ('nice build, noob' on the other hand...) but it doesn't help either. If you explain that he's the support and needs Eye to protect against ganks if the lane is going to push that hard, maybe that does. If he tells you to shut up, you shouldn't need a better indication that he's toxic and won't be helping this game. If he asks you where the best places to ward are, you've just improved your team for the game, and made a player better.

You have to factor in that whoever your talking to has probably been raged at by someone else at some point, it's just a side effect of playing the game. If you start out by sounding like just another rager, they're much more likely to tune you out or come back in a hostile manner. If someone starts talking about my build or skill, I assume it's going to be something negative rather than productive. You have to understand that if you want to be productive in helping teammates.

Sarcasm makes the problem worse.

Unacceptable "Help": Yeah, newb, why dont you go attack the fire giant!

Acceptable: STOP ****ING TOWER DIVING! DONT CHARGE INTO A GROUP!

Well actually Zero, it's more annoying IF you hear that in person. If just in a game it's not all that painful. And it gives a thought on what that person is saying to you.

And Phil your acting like the Abuse I meant was "GO **** YOURSELF YOU LOSER NOOB" Or "DIE AND NEVER PLAY A SINGLE GAME IN YOUR LIFE *** NUB" Should of clarified it earlier.

what I meant was, Sure they add ****, noob, idiot etc to their sentense. But if it also included Don't gank, get me blue, get hog first, etc. That's the way to do it. Some players just listen to the insults and not the tips. And some just makes excuses which also makes me mad. :/

If you think the added negativity helps the situation, we'll just have to disagree. I've seen the situation play out a lot, and players are quick to get defensive and hostile because that's what the MOBA culture instills into people. People don't like being raged at, and if you really help/try to help while insulting them, you're the exception rather than the rule. It's a very thin line between 'Don't build Stone of Gaia, idiot' and team toxicity and abuse. You seem like you get mad when the person responds negatively, which is just another reason to not start that engagement in that way. If you come across like just another rager, why should they be open to what you're saying?

Again, a lot of times the person who is costing the team the game knows exactly what they did wrong. I tell people to not engage in 1 on 1 fights against people they can't win and I try to help people with builds, but if someone's just getting beat in lane, there's nothing I can do to help them (long term. I can always try to gank or pressure their lane to help them in game.) Some people are just better at the game than others. Helping people isn't easy; they need to be open to receiving help (and a lot fewer people are receptive than should be,) and you need to know what the problem is, which isn't easy when you have your own stuff to worry about.

Well to correct you. When they get mad at me I just stay quiet and say I'm sorry for what ever I did wrong and try to work my way up from that.

Also some players. New players knowingly that they fed end up feeling lazy to play the game properly and just feeling more lazy because of what others keep trying to say to them. Because of that they make the game less enjoyable for others. Some just take harsh language a sign of negativity.

For me I say they should listen to them. Don't give up because you feed and others are getting mad at you. Listen to them and don't engage. Don't half *** the game because your mad at yourself for feeding. They should get on with the game and Cooperrate with the more experienced ones. Listen to them even if they bad mouth you. Some new players don't really know that at all and take all negativity parts of what their saying and making all Negative :/
