Hello fellow Smiters,
i have a little bit to share about what to me is one of the most annoying things in this game, and thats surrendering.
Just a few games ago, we surrendered after 10.... 10! minutes, because we were on average 0.5 levels below the enemies.
I am not saying that surrendering, if used in proper situations, is a bad thing, since it can save time. However, its not a tool of giving up, when any hope is lost, its used whenever victory doesnt seem certain. I've lost more games to surrender than to minutaur-kills. And I've recorded the last 5 games, where people wanted surrender, without having vote-success, 3 out of 7 games we won in the end.
Considering that Queuing, teaming up and loading the game takes quite a bit of time, and i usually play carrys/late game dmgs, i want to shout out to as many people as possible, to stop surrendering whenever my team is not dominating. I also get no satisfaction out of winning through surrender. People are not patient enough, and certainly lack team spirit, which is important in amy sport. Every game i have to press F7 multiple times, because people are lazy, and only want to play if they are fed and OP.
Sometimes, i only have 40 mintutes, and want to get a game in, and then we surrender unneccessarily after 15 min, and i cant start again.
I hope you get my point, and at least some of you agree with me. I dont really know what im trying to change with a simple thread, but i needed to rant a bit about this obsession of players.

I have much more trouble with people not surrendering when when we're losing horribly, personally.

THe issues seems to be evaluating, when a surrender is appropriate. I had a ragequitter that tried to surrender 3 times before quitting, and we won the game in the end 4v5. I'm not saying what you say doesnt happen, but usually surrendering sounds better than it should to my teammates. I mean, in the end you surrender, how cowardous is that? ;)

I dislike the surrender option for two reasons: When the only person (or people, though I only hate it when its two people, three people I understand wanting to surrender) doing bad is the one spamming it, and how Hi-Rez's system counts majority.

I especially dislike the majority part as most games if the enemy team is absolutely curb-stomping us (and by us I mean at least 3-4 people on our team) the majority of the time we can't surrender due to this one guy who thinks he/she will carry the team to victory even though everyone is about 6 levels behind the enemy team and missing more than half our towers.

Surrender has to be removed from game.
It's annoying slightly losing team surrenders immediately and you cant get points for win its like you did not even played at all.

And when in middle of battle some idiot with bad k/d pops surrender its just so annoying I'm new to this game, but it already is pissing me off.

There is nothing wrong with surrendering. There is something wrong with dumb surreders.
For example a few days a go i was doing concuest. The
Enemy team were 1 player down but the chronos was fed and the nezha was pretty farmed.

My team surrenderd. We had all towers left and they had 3, there was no gold difference if the enemies had 5 players.

My team surrederd because chronos was fed. I could make this an argument about how a fed chronos apprrently is that horrible that in a 4v5 the chronos makes it apperently still means that you wil win but that is for another time.

This surrender pissed me off so much. We would have won the game. We should have won thr game but my team were a buch of idiots.

This is what is wrong. Surreders at 2k gold difference
Surrenders against 4 people. Surrenders that just do not make sence.

never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

I can't care less if feeder from my team leaves its actually Better for me and team as whole.
And for what i know he will lose all of his goodwill and sooner or later get banned for quites.

And yes Surrender is very bad thing first of all WINNER is not getting full amount of worshipers and Favor.
Second it degrades young players will to win. Remove it at least children will get some backbone playing this game instead of becoming quitters.

dude, stop, The only reason that I still play smite is because Dota2 has no surrender button, and I know others who feel the same. It's also most peoples mine gripe with Dota. Yes,it's annoying sometimes, but there are plenty of times were it won't matter, and most of the time (in my experience) a team will only surrender when their disadvantage is fairly large.
