It is annoying. It is annoying in Lol and it is almost worse here. Here it is a bit harder to come back but there is also so many people giving up at the slightest loss. Plus there is also the chance someone on the enemy team could DC or whatever. ;) Especially if your team has a hypercarry like Artemis, I've played games where my entire team flops but we hang on and because I am playing a hypercarry I hypercarry us to victory. I've lost every single tower before and simply coordinated my team and drilled middle. Bam, win.

One thing that people need to remember about the surrender option is that motivations for voting yes or no are going to be different. I think the most common thought is 'can we win the game?' if yes, don't surrender, even if it's unlikely/near impossible. That's not how everyone feels though.

Me personally, I just play the game to have fun. I don't care too much about winning or losing. If I play a forty minute game where I play terrible and my team carries me to a win, that means I was just unhappy for forty minutes. Getting the victory isn't going to make me feel any better; it's just a win that I'm gonna forget about in twenty minutes. If I can surrender after twenty minutes and play a good game in that second twenty minutes, I've had a much more enjoyable time playing the game.

I'll still play my best and try to help the team if others don't want to surrender, but that's one 'yes' vote in a potentially winnable game. Not everyone cares about getting a win in every game above anything else. Someone else might be on tilt and just want to stop playing, someone else might have somewhere to be but doesn't want to leave. The tab is (or at least used to be,) casual after all. Not life and death.

I think the surrender option is done pretty well. Fast/bad surrenders do happen, but they're not nearly as common (at least in my experience,) as people make them out to be. If four people on your team want to surrender, chances are you're not winning that game. It's still a team game in the end, and you need the people on the team to actually want to play/not be on tilt/whatever.

My main complaint is that they should compensate people who win by surrender with more favor/worshippers than they do. A couple days ago, trying to rank Ne Zha while he's free, I had a game where I was something like 12-1 before the other team surrendered, and I got 4 worshippers for it in a game I dominated and won. That's annoying. Very rarely do I come away from a game saying 'we/they shouldn't have surrendered' though.
