Heh, are you having a bad day, Buddha? I haven't seen you riled up like this, since like, ever. The guy was probably just saying it in good humor, or at the very least just trolling.

Oh, believe me, he's consistently been an arsehole. I really have developed a hatred for his attitude.

Who cares about his grammar? Yes, I agree that in written words, numbers should be written in letters with a few exceptions, but it doesn't really matter. I agree that it wasn't necessary, and I agree that there's no need to be formal over the Internet. However, poor grammar does make it difficult to understand someone's statements, and people should at least give some effort to make themselves clear, even over the Internet. Sure, the difference between "3" and "three" is never something I'd call someone out for, but there were a multitude of grammatical errors in the original post, the use of digits instead of spelling out numbers was just one of them.

Buddha was right in his rage thread. This was solved: Thanatos' 3 does not taunt. Case closed, nothing to see here. I really don't want to see another QQ thread come up.

I'm sorry. It was rage that was slowly being built up. First, I just left it as is, because I believed it really only was me that he was acting condescending upon. As soon as it branched out to other people, that's when I believed that it was time to go on my rant.

However, as much as I have realised that it's over, I'd just like to argue about one thing.

The point I was trying to put across here was not that calling out someone's grammar made you not treat people as equal, but acting condescending towards another person does. And really, it does. Acting condescending is basically treating them as an underling. It means that you are basically putting them in a lower social tier than other people. And that's when equality between people is ruined.

Anyway, I'm done here.

I realize you said you're done here, but I believe it's unfair to post an argument and then walk off (if you expect to be given the last word, at least).

I understand your viewpoint, I just think you were overly critical of him because, whatever way he comes across, he is a helpful member of this community.

As for your assertion that condescension is the act of putting yourself above another, that is, by definition, correct. However, being condescending does not disrespect the dignity of another human being, but rather point out flaws, albeit in an unnecessary manner. Fact is, his points were correct - it is always very difficult to read Game's posts. Should they have been said in that manner? I guess not. Were they necessary? Honestly, I think so.


I realize I come across as argumentative - but, really, that's because I am. :/
