Poll Question:

Why do you read god guides on SmiteFire (check all answers that apply, please)
I know nothing about the god and want to learn anything that I can
I know a little about the god and want to learn more
I am familiar with the god but want to take my gameplay with them to the next level
I know the god very well and want to see others' thoughts on the god

I REALIZE THAT WE CANNOT SELECT MULTIPLE ANSWERS (OOPS!). INSTEAD, PLEASE SELECT THE ONE THAT YOU FEEL MOST APPLIES TO YOU. THANKS!

The purpose of this poll is to serve as a reference for guide writers as to who the majority of their audience is.

When writing a guide, it is important to consider your audience when adding your content to the piece. On SmiteFire, there are several different guides which write to very different audiences. Some are geared towards newer players while some are aimed at the more experienced player. Others are all-inclusive.

I am simply curious to see if their is a common audience among the SmiteFire community, or if it is diverse, and if so, how diverse is it?

Thank you for participating.

Chose familiar but take gameplay to the next level. At this point, I'm generally familiar with all gods and their kits, and am mostly comfortable playing any of them (though I have some strong preferences of gods I don't like).

I also want to see what other people write, which might give me better insight or strategies, and also just like reading guides that are a benefit to SmiteFire.

Chose the second option; personally, for every new God I attempt to play, I'll usually look up a guide, focusing mainly on the proposed build & skill order (general info about the game or role aren't as interesting to me because I'm not new to the MOBA genre).

Once I'm very familiar with a God, my focus will shift more towards optimizing the build, at which point I'll mainly try to find guides/builds shared by high elo / pro players (which is not to say you have to be high elo / pro to be able to build a God correctly, but it's still a safer bet to go for someone who has proven their worth using the build).

Thanks to Janitsu for the signature!

Apollo, Cabrakan (mostly, every once in a while he's fun but I just don't really like his kit), Chiron, Fafnir (I want to like him but I just don't), Geb (feels so boring to play), Janus, Terra, Tyr (just absolutely hate the feel of his kit).

I voted 1st cuz that's how I got into Smitefire. Whenever before I bought a new god, I'd look for some guides on the god and look at the creator's perspective, and that was a deciding factor in which gods I would buy (Like, BestMinionEver's Ne Zha guide made me buy Ne Zha really early on the game (level 10-ish, like, before Aphrodite, my main.) So yeh

The most important thing about a guide is keeping it accurate and most importantly...UPDATED.
Which smite fire isn’t known for. At least the updated department. The only gods ever to get updated are the most played Gods, despite a large pool of casuals who play any or all Gods, or of course the New or OP Gods.
Not try8ng to shade this community but it’s kinda why I hardly bother with this site. This might even be my first post in a long time actually I

I understand your frustration, but this isn't relevant to the original post's question. I asked which answer would best apply to you when reading a god guide, not what you think the most important aspect of a guide is.

This subject is liable to sparking further conversation, so I kindly ask anybody who wishes to respond to this to please do so in a separate thread. This will prevent the original topic from being hijacked. Thank you.

Very good idea by the way!
Me I chose the third option (as most did I saw just now): Feeling quite confident with the basics of every god, but sure would search for a guide when taking the gameplay to the next level and dive deep into itemization and such.
