What is the current meta?

So I have just gotten back into Smite after about a year. Now, I'm playing the Xbox version with my friends who I introduced to the game. I would just like to say, the port is awesome and I hope a lot of console users get into it.

But that's not the point of this post.

Every conquest game I have played has been a mess. People are often lost and confused, imbalance of roles, no laning phases, and why...Why were there three Hunters on the enemy team?

So, what is the current meta? Is this just a problem with Xbox users? And finally, just so I know I'm not crazy, can someone please restate what roles go into what lanes?

It's hard to know what the current patch is for Xbox as I have the PC version of the game so you'll have to look around for the Xbox tier list.

The types of gods smite wanted you to play in each lane go as followed:

Solo- Warrior ()
Jungle- Assassin ()
Mid- Mage ()
Support- Guardian ()
Carry- Hunter ()

This is what Hi-Rez wanted but people have found ways to play certain god types out of their roles. The triple hunter meta you're currently in is a cause by being OP for it's high mana sustain to physical gods who normally have high mana problems early game so they stay in the lane longer and snowball faster. So until BSP gets it's nerf and other items that make hunters devastating in the late game, have fun with the rage it will cause.

yeah I don't know how long you have been away but S2 has brought weird stuff.

I don't know where xbox is on patching but it does sound as the hunter guardian meta.
