Ymir has always been my go-to support, but I feel like I could be getting more out of my supporting skills by usin a different support. So yeah, how good do you think Ymir is in comparison with other supports? Who is "the best" support god?

Ymir is a more damage-based version of Athena, imo. I'd pick him if you're looking to pick a guardian that will do damage, compared to bacchus, athena, geb, etc. But in the end, he only has one CC, so despite it being a super huge duration, it's average, and his lack of mobility requires blink.

In arena, he can absolutely be good, but in conquest, it's very possible to do serious damage to him in the early laning phase. If he goes even, he'll still do poorly. But if he DOES get ahead, his CC duration and base damage can make him a serious threat. Still, beads or simple positioning makes him useless, so I wouldn't main him, personally. People use him in the jungle (look at Omega) more than support.

So, who would you say is the best all-around support?

All around? Hmm. I'd say Athena is up there, as is Sobek. Both have decent damage, initiation, peel, tankiness, and utility. I think Geb is decent too, and I don't know enough about Sylvanus to make a judgement.

Geb, Athena, ***bha, and Sylvania are the best gods you can support with. You can obviously do well with any god if you know the role well enough.

You can't really say "what support is the best".
It all depends on the player - for example, I love Ymir and Ares and I win almost all of my games with those two, but I have no clue what I'm doing with Athena.

If I am correct then slow is CC. So Ymir has his freeze, slow on his Glacial Strike, slow on his ultimate, and of course the mighty wall. So all of his abilities have CC. His damage and zoning abilities are good.

yeah people pick Athena or Geb over him, because of global presence and taunt from athena and shield + good initiation + good move speed with Roll Out of Geb. But Ymir is still pretty decent. No reasons why not pick him when Geb is out because he is most OP support in the game.

You might want to watch games from yesterday's EU wildcrads. KenyeLife from Aquila (CoGaq) played Ymir in 2 out of 4 games and did very good.

1) I was talking hard CC. Slows are good, but they don't stop your opponent from doing what they're doing. If I get slowed and you get stunned, I'm going to win.

2) He STILL has no initiation outside blink. Play around blink or bait it out, GG.

3) I never said Ymir wasn't good, nor did I say he wasn't picked (I even mentioned omega), but the wildcard players are known for being..risky with their picks. Same in every game. In LoL a player chose mid hecarim in the relegation matches. You won't see that type of thing in the top of the top games. But who knows, maybe he'll continue with it.

Sorry if i got your meaning wrongly, there wasn't stated hard CC. Yeah from hard CC ymir just has freeze and wall. About blink. Gebs initiation isn't that good too (due to the fact that you can be CCed when you use your Roll Out, thats why Geb always gets blink. Ymir should always get blink too. This won't leave you place for shell, curse and such stuff but it is worth it.

Although ymir was picked in the SPL too, not only in the wildcrads, but the time will show. I hope he will be played at the LAN
