I remember reading something about the Ophiotaurus, so I did some research and it turns out that the Ophiotaurus was a half cow, half serpent creature in ancient Greek mythology. It was said that whoever slayed the Ophiotaurus and then burned its entrails would have the power to defeat the gods. My thoughts were, "hey, that might make a good item in Smite!" It would probably be called "Ophiotaurus Entrails" and would provide magical power and magical protections. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Uh, no.

All of the other items don't rot or smell or are covered in blood.

And they're all solid items like armor or rings or weapons or artifacts. Not fishcow guts.

Well good thing we can't smell it! Or actually feel those rings and such. Honestly Sub, I feel like your just trying to be a butt to everyone.

Do all of your comments start with "Uh, no."?

And thanks M4XiiMUS.

Well, OK then. Guess it's not a good idea.

What if it was "Ashes of the Ophiotaurus"? Would that be better?

Well if we're following Subzeros logic, no. Because it isn't a physical opject.

If we allowed incorporeal or non-battle related items in SMITE, soon they'll be items like Head of the Gorgon, Spirit of the Wild, Griffon's Talon, and other stuff that makes no sense.

Even Bancroft's Talon is some kind of horn, possibly a signalling horn or something like that.

I'm not trying to be abraisive, but I'm pointing out a trend here.

Ashes of the O-whatsit sounds better, but it still doesn't quite fit. Stuff like Pythagorem's Piece or Doom Orb look like magical foci, like a wand or amulet.

How about this: A necklace with an attached glass bottle filled with blood. Call it Ophiotaurus' Gift.

Also, I would advise against making it too similar to Void Stone.

Possible Stats?

Cost: 700/1350/2125

+30/50/70 magical protection
+5/10/15% magical and physical lifesteal

Passive: You heal 10% of your maximum health when hit by a damaging ability over six seconds. This effect can only occur every 20 seconds.

Basically, this item avoids being another Void Stone, while occupying its own niche. I'm not sure if its any good though.
