Here's what I found on wikipedia:

"The Gods, or rather Devas, approached Brahma, the creator of the universe, and protested against the unjust rule and evil doings of the demons (Danavas, namely Asuras, who belonged to an evil human race with giant build). Hearing the protest from the Gods, Brahma collected sacrificial objects and proceeded to perform a grand sacrifice with the foremost of the Rishis and Devas at the side of Himalaya.

During the course of the sacrifice, a dreadful creature sprang from the midst of the sacrificial fires scattering flames all around. It was as though a moon had arisen in the midst of the stars. He was colored like a deep-blue lotus. His teeth were sharp and terrible, stomach lean and skinny and stature very tall and slim. He was of exceeding energy and power. Simultaneously, the earth started shaking, there were turmoils in the oceans, the forceful winds started howling all around, the trees started falling and being torn apart, and the meteors started blazing through the skies!

Brahma declared:

The 'being' I have conceived is Asi. It shall effect the destruction of the enemies of the gods and restore the Dharma (righteousness).

Upon this, the creature assumed the form of a blazing, sharp-edged sword, glowing like the flames at the end of the Kalpa (aeon)."

Here's something I made up.

Apollo, like Artemis, was also the god of archery. Like his sister, who wielded a silver bow, Apollo was granted a Golden Bow from his father, Zeus.

But one day, his bow started acting strange. In an archery contest of the gods, he missed all of his shots, some falling just short of the target, and one shot even hitting Zeus' beard. Apollo was humiliated, and threw the bow aside. Muttering a curse, he said, "Damn this bow and damn the next one who picks it up!"

Trading his bow strings for the strings of a lyre, the God of Archery became the God of Music. Meanwhile, the Golden Bow gleamed innocently, waiting for its next victim to pick it up and use it...

Yeah, I hate the GB THAT much. It's incredibly tempting to use it, and its effect sounds good on paper, but in practice...

I think Smite DESPERATELY needs to add in items that can be activated. Every item is just passive stats that don't change playstyle whatsoever, as far as strategy is concerned. While there are actives that will negate some of my examples, LoL has Ravenous Hydra, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Blade of the Ruined King, Zhonya's Hourglass, Deathfire Grasp, Arcangel's Staff, Manamune, Hextech Gunblade, etc.

The items in here suck, and Golden Bow's horrible style of Hydra is terrible.

Good lore, however.

Ever since they added a jump button, I always wanted an item that could be triggered by jumping. Imagine if you could activate Soul Reaver's Passive on your next ability by pressing Space.

You know. I've thought about all this before, but the more I think of it, I don't like the idea for Smite.

Main reasons being: Smite is already substantially more difficult to aim, cast, and land your abilities, (League being simple point and click).

They would have to add more buttons, and in Smite your already having to use WASD for movement, so adding more would just make it "annoying", I guess would be the appropriate word. This is kind of minor, but some people coming into this genre might be deterred.

Also, Smite has a vast amount of actives (More powerful aswell), more so than LoL, therefore many of those effects already exist as Actives. I mean, Could you imagine a carry with Yuumou's effects and Sprint Tier3? Oh gawd. Here comes the jetplane!

I'd say I'm pretty unbiased too. Being I played LoL for 2 years. Still love it. Although Smites more fun ATM ;).

It's still the freaking spacebar. Not very complicated, and easily within reach. And if League could handle active items, then Smite can.

Haha, I was referring to your Spacebar suggestion, Although I Might've thought you were joking abit XD, Jumping to cast an ability (could be cool?) seems alittle silly.

I was talking more about making a bunch of castable items, on separate keys.

Voidblade and Void Stone.

There is a realm, another dimension, beyond the gods. Some called it Purgatory, some called it Oblivion, others called it the Void*. In this realm is a dead world, the abandoned creations of a forgotten god.

But although this world is dead, some creatures still lurk within. They thrashed in their lightless cage, growing stronger, more intelligent...and more hateful.

Eventually, small tears grew on the boundaries of these creatures' prison. A mortal man, his name forgotten, by chance, stumbled into one of these rifts. He experimented with the hole seemingly suspended on thin air, but as he took a peek inside, well, it didn't end well for him.

These monsters, sensing the light of a world that was not their own, seized their chance. They emerged from the rift, and raged as they felt the presence of the gods. They torn down temples, devoured worshippers and demigods, and fought the gods themselves.

They possessed a terrible power, an unnatural aura that sapped one's strength. They succeeded in driving the gods back to the heavens, and took dominion over the earth. But eventually, they were slain by the combined efforts of all the pantheons.

Vulcan, smith of the gods, was fascinated by these beasts. He forged swords from their talons, cut gems out of their scales, and made weapons imbued with these beasts' power, the Voidblade and the Void Stone.

But then HiRezZeus grew scared of these weapons' power, and nerfed them to 15 protections ordered Vulcan to destroy them. And now we have -15 protection aura.

*Shut up.

Ah, that's right. Damn, I guess that would be a problem. An alternative solution would be to have a special item slot for "active items"...oh wait.

Alright. What about items that go in active item slots that have stats?
