Mercury Build

Initial Build

Notes Obviously, you're starting Assassin's Blessing in any jungle build, but with Mercury, starting Boots will give you an extra 1.5 power, which isn't much to write home about. But added to the extra movement speed to farm, is beneficial. Multi Potion is the best option to go for early sustain unless you're skipping getting Hand of the Gods, in which case grab both Health and Mana potions.

Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is vigilants, and welcome to my second SmiteFire guide. This guide will give you the tools you need to be an effective jungler with Mercury. I will be covering recommended builds, matchups, abilities and items in-depth, jungle pathing, and general tips.

Mercury is a late-game hyper carry jungler who normally builds into Critical Strikes. This is because his first ability, Made You Look, can crit. He has good clear for a late game jungler and his passive allows him to build well into more movement speed with his itemization.

God Stats

Stats at level 20
Offensive
Defensive
Other
  • Mana: 1000 (+40)
  • Damage: 81 (+2.13) +100%
  • Range: 12 (+0)
  • Attack/sec: 1.48 (+2.4%)
  • Health: 1900 (+75)
  • Physical Prots: 70 (+2.9)
  • Magical Prots: 48 (+0.9)
  • Hp5: 24 (+0.7)
  • Mp5: 11.4 (+0.35)
  • Speed: 381 (+0)
Note: Numbers in parentheses are the amount gained at each level.

Pros:
  • Quick jungle clear
  • Able to move quickly around the jungle.
  • Excellent gank potential with Special Delivery and Sonic Boom.
  • Very high damage late in the game.
Cons:
  • Very squishy
  • If an enemy uses beads for your Special Delivery, you're in a bad position.
  • Countered by Midgardian Mail and other items.
  • Has to be close to deal damage.

Abilities & Leveling

Fastest God Alive (Passive)

For every 1 unit traveled, Mercury gains a 0.08% Physical Power bonus on his next Basic Attack (max 40%).
Mercury also gains additional Physical Power equal to 25% of movement speed from items or abilities.

.
Mercury's passive is born and bred for jungling, gaining power for his next basic attack as he moves, it compliments his movement speed build style. You also gain power based off of movement speed gained from items.
.

Made You Look

Mercury moves in the blink of an eye, dealing one melee attack to every enemy within the target area. This ability can Critically Hit, and triggers Ability related Item effects, not Basic Attack related Item effects.
.
This is the ability you will be using the most, so practice hitting it as much as possible. You need to max this ability first, as the scaling on the protection debuff, movement speed, and number of bounces are important. If you are having trouble hitting this ability, try to find a stationary target to bounce the ring off of, such as a minion, jungle camp, objective, or something like an Inferno Cannon.
.

Maximum Velocity

Passive: Mercury gains increased movement speed.
Active: Mercury increases his Attack Speed and ignores Movement Speed Slows for the duration.

.
You want to max this ability second, as the scaling factors of the healing, attack speed buff, and buff duration are essential to your kit. When clearing a wave or jungle camp, you can auto cancel after the second or third auto to reset your attack chain to get more damage off. This ability paired with Shield of Regrowth gives you a large movement speed increase.
.

Special Delivery

Mercury dashes forward, knocking aside minions, grabbing the first enemy god he encounters and spinning them. The enemy god takes damage until the effect ends, and Mercury throws the god in the direction of his choice.
.
Sash is more of a versatile ability than most people think. You can use it to interrupt a channeled abilities such as a Taolu Assault or Searing Flesh, to have a small setup ability for minor follow up damage, or using it to catch up to an enemy who you plan to hit with your ultimate.
.

Sonic Boom

Mercury gathers energy for a powerful dash, with the range extending as he does so. He travels the distance faster than the speed of sound, dealing damage to all enemies, stunning them and spinning them around in a random direction.
.
The most iconic part of Ne Zha's kit, you can take an enemy out of a teamfight for 4 seconds, deal loads of damage depending on your build, and setup the targeted enemy for large amounts of follow up from a big damage ultimate such as Searing Pain. There are several ways to master this ability that I will list in Gameplay Tips.
