The build is a WIP, however the ability and combo breakdown are still usable :)
The given build is an example that will get you through a match. There will always be a build more suited to a specific situation, so feel free to create a build or switch up the buy order as you go if you are comfortable doing so.
Assault At A Glance (AAAG) is a series of guides made so you can get the bone basics you need for an unfamiliar God while in the Assault loading screen.
Coming Soon: AAAG! Assault At A Glance (Master List)

Sorrow's extra lifesteal bonus can give you the edge in a close 1v1. |
|
In a pinch to avoid a knockback you can activate Plague of Locusts and then cancel after the knockback ability. |
|
Mummify goes through minions but is blocked by walls. |
|
Grasping Hands is helpful for catching up to fleeing enemies. |
|
The only way the enemy can avoid taking damage from Death Gaze is using Aegis Amulet or being out of range. |
This section is for anyone familiar with the very basics and wants some extra reading. Great for when you're waiting on the respawn timer, too!

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

While I like the concept of the coming guide I feel it is lacking a bit in this format. Mostly builds wise.
Since I play a lot of assault myself I think listing one build is not gonna be enough. Assault knows pretty much 3 (or 4) common scenarios:
1. Damage heavy/squishy enemies (for which your example build would do the trick, assuming no one builds tank).
2. Balanced (1-3 tanks/bruisers)
3. Tank heavy enemies
(4. healer)
as it stands the current build will only do well against the first (which is the rarest situation). Anyone building protections are gonna have a lot of fun with you. The example just misses % pen to be a decent example. If you really want to give only one example, you should think about a more balanced enemy team preferably with a healer (My bane in assault is having teammates that don't build anti-heal. ).

Hey! I agree that one build isn't enough. I only gave one generic one so it didn't overwhelm people new to the god. It's definitely not the top build out there, but it's difficult to have a top build in a mode where there's so much randomness. Lots of building will have to be against what the enemy team has and how they play. That said, the site has definitely changed a bit since I made guides previously and I'm now seeing that multiple builds won't take up a ton of extra space. I'll likely add more soon.
I'll admit I'm a little out of practice, I've just gotten back into the game within the past week or two. I'll dig deeper into caps and items and such before releasing future guides in this series.
I'll definitely add one, great idea! I was concerned about the space it would take up, but now I'm seeing that's less of an issue.
for most mages, their option is the meta pen build or a Chronos rush build.
Then we have some special cases that will go lifesteal.
Also, a big mistake of your generic build is the lack of Divine Ruin. This is the most generic assault pickup
