Also, Aphrodite's soul mate gains 50% of her MP5 and 10% of her Physical and Magical Protections.

Introduction

Hi everyone, my ign in smite is Wolfman5665, and this is my first guide on Smitefire. Since this is my first guide I don't expect it to be super amazing with a ton of upvotes or anything like that, but I just thought I should share my knowledge on Aphrodite since I have reached mastery level 10 with her.

I am not the best at Aphrodite but I managed to reach mastery level 10 with around 850 kills, so Im here to share how I use her abilities, why I use them like that, and why this is useful. Keep in mind, though, that this is only a guide for playing Aphrodite in the SOLO lane (The side that has the fire giant on it) so you aren't going to be learning about playing her in the mid or duo lanes.

Pros / Cons

PRO'S
-Can heal a lot of damage with Love Birds
-Clears quickly
-Lots of damage with combo
-Secure kills easily with Love Birds

CON'S
-No escape
- Love Birds heals little hp early game
-Can get poked to death by solos like Chaac
-Can be easily killed early game
- Undying Love can be hard to time or predict with ults like Kukulkan's if you cannot see them.

Skill Upgrading

Skill Upgrading Explanation (in order of importance)

Love Birds
I focus this skill first mainly because it is your best clear and will heal you quickly. Maxing this early game will also help you get and secure kills faster, especially since you are getting Rod of Asclepius and then two other items after that give cooldown reduction, you will be able to use it faster and heal more.

Back Off!
I focus this skill second because it gives you a lot of damage, ability to push people back or in to your tower, and it helps if you are running away. The only reason I don't max this first is because Love Birds heals you while Back Off doesn't.

Undying Love
I focus this skill third mainly because if you can time it right, you wont need to be able to have more time in it. Also, all upgrading it does (besides increase invulnerability time) is reduce its cooldown, but since you have Chronos' Pendant and maybe Shoes Of Focus, you will already have less cooldown on it.

Kiss
There are two reasons why I max this last.
1: It does not increase stun times at all

2: Upgrading it only gives affects if you have soulmates, which you wont have many until late game.

Laning Stage

Early Game

At first you are either going to help mid at mid camp or jungle at speed/damage camp. If the jungle gets HoG he should be able to solo his buff if you are helping mid at mid camps. After you help the mid, head to your mana camp and have the jungle help you, HoG the camp, and head to lane, from there the jungle is going to help you for a bit, hopefully you or the jungle will get first blood, and you are off to a good start. On your first time back to base, ignore the Shoes you have and go straight for Rod Of Asclepius. This will get you a lot of power and insane healing early game, which you will need.

Mid/Late Game

From here you are going to finish your build, making adjustments to it as needed to fit whoever you're going against. If you had a good early game, you're going to want to start rotating and ganking to ensure that all of your lanes win. If you had a bad early game you're going to want to farm up and destroy at least the first tower of your lane before you start to rotate. Once teamfights break out, you NEED to get over there to help your team win, stop whatever you're doing and help in the fight, you are like a second support with Love Birds and Undying Love. You will be one of the most important fighters in the teamfight as you will keep the team alive and protect them from very damaging ults.

Combo

Your main combo is going to be this:

--> -->

This will do a ton of damage, plus it makes it easier to hit your abilities once they are stunned from your Kiss.

Items

Starter Items:

Vampiric Shroud: This is a great item to start off with mainly because it gives you 100 health, which is really good for early game since you start off with low health, it gives you some early magical power, which makes you do more damage early game when you have no items, letting you push better than other solos.

Shoes: This is easy to explain, EVERY god needs shoes (unless you are using one of those weird builds that has movement speed items instead). This will help you get to lane very fast early game. It helps you move from mid camp to mana camp, or damage/speed to mana camp quickly. If you need to chase early game this is going to help you move faster. The only reason I have you complete Rod Of Asclepius before this is because it gives you movement speed too.

Hand Of The Gods: This is very important early game. Mainly for when you and the jungle are clearing camps, what you do is you either help mid or jungle with their camps (depending on what side solo is on, left=help jungle right=help mid) then when you move on to your mana camp, you can use Hand Of The Gods (HoG) to finish it quickly. This can also help a lot if you quickly need to get the buff and return to lane, it clears camps very fast.

Early Game/Core Items:

This section is basically your core section, you probably wouldn't want to trade these out for anything else.

Rod Of Asclepius: This item is VERY important to Aphrodite! This gives you a lot of magical power, which is very needed early game, a good amount of movement speed (which is why you can get it before boots and not be affected), and a lot of health, which is also very useful early game. The main thing about this item, though, is it's passive. It probably has the best passive for healers in the game. It basically increases your healing, which WILL keep you in lane for a long time if you can conserve mana. This is also going to be very useful late game, too. Ive seen my healing bring TANKS (with over 3500 health) all the way from red health, to full health. This is extremely good, especially for teamfights where the supports are going to be extremely useful.

or :
Shoes Of The Magi: You should only get this item if youre going against a solo like Chaac or Hades who are naturally tanky and will probably get magical defense against you. This will help get through their defenses because of the penetration.

Shoes Of Focus: This is for when you aren't going against a tanky solo, it gives you great cooldown reduction, which will help you heal more, and land your combo quickly. It is a great pair with Chronos PendantChronos Pendant because the cooldown reductions add up letting you heal even faster than before and do your combo extremely fast! Sometimes I've even been able to use my combo every 5 seconds from all of the cooldown reduction.

Chronos Pendant: This item is mainly for the cooldown reduction. It also offers magical power and MP5, but it's mainly in this build for the cooldown reduction. This will help you use abilities much faster, which will benefit your combo and how fast you can heal which is extremely useful (especially if you are going against solos that have pokes that do a ton of damage..... ).

The rest of the items are pretty easy to explain, Rod Of Tahuti is basically needed by every mage because of its insane power boost, and the two books are for the power boost they give you too. Book Of Thoth's passive is great because it gives you the mana you need, and converts it to magical power, too.

Match Ups

These are all from MY personal experience from laning with them, these might not be true counters of Aphrodite, but I've just found that I have a lot of trouble if I get matched against them.

Anubis

Difficulty: Very Easy

His Plague Of Locusts is a perfect chance to use your combo without wasting Kiss because he is rooted by it. Also, if he decides to use Death Gaze, just react fast with Undying love to escape without taking any damage!

Hercules

Difficulty: Medium

His Earthbreaker and Driving Strike combo will literally destroy you. You cannot beads, aegis, or ult out of it, because he gets it back so quickly. The only way to win is to play very passive and land your combo whenever you can.

Chang'e

Difficulty: ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT

Her second ability ( Moonlit Waltz) is basically YOUR ULT with a 12-20 second cooldown. Her ult... that has to be the thing that brings you down every time... and she can still beat you without it. It does a TON of damage and will stun you for a VERY long time. I've lost almost every time I've went up against a Chang'e... that doesn't mean I've never won, though.

Summary

This was my first guide as of now, I will try to update it and add more as much as I can, try to comment saying what I should add, it will really help me improve this guide and make it a very good Aphrodite guide and build.

Good luck in the lane!

Hey, I'm still a bit of a beginner but could you explain to me how Soul Reaver works perfectly with Aphro? I get that it deals a lot of damage once a minute, but how does that work well with Aphrodite's kit?

I found that it mainly works well with Love Birds, since it is already affected by magical power, soul reaver will boost its damage even more, and its passive will make it do a ton of damage. If you don't really agree you can replace it with something from the replacements section, like Gem of Isolation.

I just have that in there because I find it easy to build the stacks late game, I'll add another item to get if you don't want to.

You build full AP, I personally think an Aphrodite with no deaths is more valuable than an Aphrodite with 7 kills...

I think it depends on the skill level more, I usually get matched up with mastery 10 amazing chang'e and bad mastery 2 hercs. It's just my personal experience as aphro.

I haven't played her in a while (at least in conquest) so I'll try to play her more and update it as needed.
