Chains extend from Ares' shield, doing damage to all enemies in its path. Hitting a god shackles them to Ares, Cripples them, preventing movement abilities, dealing the same damage every second while slowing them by 15% and buffing Ares. While shackled, Ares can fire another chain for free within 2s. Jungle Camps take an extra +40% damage.

This is a pretty good build actually. Except the mystical mail and the placement of void stone, everything else looks standard.

It's decent, but there aren't any mention of situational items like Witchblade, Hide of the Nemean Lion, and Winged Blade. Not to mention Genji's Guard and Breastplate of Valor among others. So again, it's not "The Best Ares Build". I'd debate with DDB about it, but so far he's proven himself either unwilling or unable to defend his item choices, so I'm not going to waste my time; I'll let Bran do it for me. ;)

You're better served in most cases getting Void Stone in Heartward Amulet's place, and probably not picking up Heart at all. It's perhaps better if facing 3 magical enemies, one of which being the ADC, in which place you might pick it up before Sov...but against 2 magical, do yourself a favor and give your mage(s) and yourself more damage potential...that's what Ares is for.

Mystical Mail 5th is very underwhelming, and with this in here in this position automatically disqualifies it from being the "best" build. Getting Void earlier would help its damage output a bit, but it's still not an amazing item, especially late in the game. Instead of Mystical, I feel Pythagorem's Piece is a better teamfight option.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
