This build is bad. Sure I am killing pretty well with it but it has blatant flaws that I have figured out after spending some time looking at all the items again. Will rewrite soon.
Chang'e is my favorite character to play. She is an amazing solo laner and in later game becomes pretty much the best support goddess there is. This guide is my first and I by no means think of myself as an exceptional Chang'e or Smite player in general so if you have any comments please feel free to let me know. English is technically my second language so please forgive the wordyness and any other poor writing abilities.
Your first priority is going to be getting a fully upgraded
. This will help with your escapes once the other team eventually tries to start ganking you and it lowers your skill CD which is very potentially the most important thing for Chang'e.
Your second item will be either
or
. If the enemy team is stacked with melee gods go for the
. All other enemy team compositions go with
.
* Getting your max CDR as fast as you can is very important. So, once you are close to being able to afford either the
or the
, go ahead and sell your
. You will not have an issue sustaining your MP and health by this point so you no longer need it.
Your third purchase should be
. Having this will allow you to only need one blue camp to maintain your sustain. After the blue camp buff wears use the
and then once that buff wears the same blue camp should be up and ready to kill again. This is sometimes not needed as I tend to push rather hard with Chang'e and can normally take both the blue camps on my side if the other team doesn't have a jugnler taking it. Either way I always get it though because eventually you will upgrade it to help with your support for late game team fights.
The fourth purchase is going to be
. This will help with your squishyness I mentioned earlier as well as giving you some more escape potential with the increase movement speed. The real reason for this though is the Aura that increases the healing or allies in range. This is going to make your
and
heal for even more and really help turn the tide of team fights in your teams favor.
Fifth purchase is based on what your opponents are stacking on. If they are stacking the magic protection because of yourself or a magic power stacked ally such as Ymir(magic stacked Ymir is a power house) or Ao Kuang then you will want to take
. If they are not stacking the magic protection feel free to take
. Unless you notice they are stacking Magic Protection really hard go for
. The item was pretty much made of Chang'e. Chang'e's passive increases her movement speed by 25% when she dances, add that along with your increased movement speed from
and
AND with the
making them move slower when you hit them with an ability, you will have nearly no trouble chasing down enemies to get that kill shot.
Sixth purchase again varies. If you took the
but the enemy is stacking a little Magic Protection than I would take
. If you took
for your fifth purchase because they are stacking Magic Protection really hard then take the
. If they are not stacking protection at all then take the
.
Your last item purchase is going to be the
.
Chang'e has an insane amount of sustain ability and thus is perfect for solo laning.
Starting Items:
I always buy
because it helps with your early game sustain. Then I get either meditation if I have a jungler or
if I do not. Finally grab yourself a
and a
. Again this is to help with your sustain early game.
Now why do I get meditation or
. With a jungler they are more than likely going to take
themselves, you should coordinate with them to help them kill the first harpy camp and then they help you kill your lanes blue camp. If you are soloing middle, something I rarely do as I prefer a side lane, then just pick which ever blue camp you want. Because they can help you get your blue camp to keep your mana up you will not need your own
to kill the camp efficiently and can go with meditation.
Chang'e is an amazing solo laner because of her ability to never have to actually leave her lane. EVER!!!! Her bunny pal can run back and forth purchasing upgrades and items for her so that she can stay in lane. Having meditation helps do this even better. After the mana buff from the camp goes down hit your meditation when you need the mana and the buff should last until the camp is back up. By the time you are needing a second blue camp kill you should be able to to it solo with little difficulty.
Early Game Strat:
Your first priority is to kill the enemies minions ASAP. Thanks to Chang'e's #1 skill
being a pretty wide AoE this is easy. Do not try and take out your lane opponent yet. Chang'e is very squishy early game. Keep at the minions. Your own minions will be able to push up and I often get a few hits on the first tower even in the first wave. Your next skill point will be going to your #3
. This ability is AMAZING. Not only does it deal damage in a large AoE centered at your location but it heals allies as well.
My normal opening on a fresh wave of minions is
as many as I can fit prioritizing the melee to a
hitting melee and archers and my own melee to heal them then a
to finish off the archers. The enemy minions are all dead and you have a full batch of 100% or near health minions. Keep this rotation up and you will be putting constant pressure on your lane and more than likely pull the enemies jungler to your lane to try and stop you. This is a good thing as Chang'e is amazing at escapes, to be discussed later.
By mid-game if you have only had a single opponent to fight against in your lane, which is often the case because people underestimate Chang'e, you should have the first tower dead and the second tower close to finished. Just keep doing what you are doing and kill that second tower put some pressure on the phoenix and when you see the enemies rush to your lane, GET OUT OF THERE!!!!! You are still squishy probably and your main job is to sustain the lane. Pushing the phoenix is just to relieve some pressure on the other lanes so they can push a bit.
If you are facing a competent team that realizes how much of a threat you are be ready to either have a permanent extra enemy to fight or keep an eye out for the gank from the enemy jungler. Once you have two points in your ultimate
it is very possible that you can take out both opponents in a 2v1 situation. A big reason being your
healing your minions so the opponent is all alone while you have a small army. Properly line up your
and
and you can very well damage them, stun them, throw in a
to a second
all in rapid succession which will make them run away or die.
By end game you have pushed your lane and probably have all enemy towers gone and both of yours still up. Grats! Now go help the others.
At this point the teams are going to start doing pushes with full teams. Well your team has you and that means your team has a major advantage in that you can do a mass AoE heal every few seconds along with a
to give them all their MP back to sustain the push. You are also hitting pretty much every enemy because everything you do is an AoE and thus slowing them all down so they cannot run away.
In a team fight make sure that you have a blue camp buff up because you are going to want to spam your skills. Stay behind your team unless you are going in for a
or
. You are still a rather squishy player in comparison and your main role in the fight is going to be trying to keep the others alive.

Flint like I said I don't have a lot of time anymore but I can tell you that going against Chaac is absolute pain because of his level of sustain as well.
Chang'e was the first god I played and I gave up her a little bit cause I wanted to get mastery level 1 on all possible god.
Now I found out the gameply I like and Chang'e is one of the god I like to play. Your guid Helped me a lot, especially mentionning something I did not realize, she has the best sustain in the game, for conquest and joust.
few games I played after reading your guide I did not come back to the start base a single time, and it works perfectly. Before that I came back to base when I was rly low life, but reading your guide made me realize that with her kit you dont have to do that (only if I die).
Nor returning to base is the most annoying thing you can do for opponent team. Cause one day or the other you force him to go back to his base, and then you can push your lane, bringing your minions under the tower. So you earn more money, you get more stuff, and you snowball.
And rly once you hit level 5, you can force your opponent to leave the lane very often, this saves you enough time to push your lane or to help you allies.
good guide on an amazing god.
Do you intend to upgrade the guide by adding some match up section (something like which gods counter chang'e well) ?
