Notes Death's Embrace Essential starter for Amaterasu because you heal 1.4% of your maximum health every time you hit someone.

Golden Blade With this item you will push the minions better because you do extra damage around whoever you hit.

Berserker's Shield gives you mixed defenses and a lot of attack speed and the passive gives you more defense and attack speed when your health drops below 60%.

Pharaoh's Curse Provides you good physical and magical defenses as well as attack speed. Its active is very useful because reduces movement and attack speed.

Qin's Blade You deal 3% of your maximum life with each basic attack and if he has more health than you, you do 4% more.

Hide of the Nemean Lion right now the carries are very strong and this item gives you a passive that when you activate it you reflect damage, that's why it's very good vs carries.

Oni Hunter's Garb is the best magic defense item because it provides you with mitigations the more enemy players you have around.

Blink Rune You can teleport a few meters in front of you while you are in combat.

Introduction

Hi, this guide is brought to you by lestimics. I started playing Smite 1 on PC in 2014. I've been playing competitively since 2020 and have been a professional Smite player from 2021 to 2023. I've played on different teams like JustF6, Gilded Gladiators or Tartarus Titans.

You can check out the SmiteVOD YouTube channel where my recorded professional games are. I've peaked at 3500 MMR GrandMaster/Masters in Ranked Conquest on the PC platform every season since 2018. I've also done Smite Masters (LAN) 4 times in 2022, so I really think I have the knowledge to guide on the Solo role in SMITE 2.

I hope you find this guide as a useful learning resource for playing Amaterasu as Solo.

Here are my socials:

Abilities

Amaterasu's Abilities

Passive - Illuminating Strike

Attacking an enemy 3 times causes them and other nearby enemies to take increased damage from all sources.

It is very useful for pushing to hit 3 basics to the minions before using your skills to push better.

Ability 1 - Divine Presence

Heal yourself over a short duration, and alternate between the gold and red buff effects.

Gold buff provides a temporary health shield on activation, and a persistent movement speed buff (It's better for rotations).

Red buff provides a short attack speed buff on activation, and a persistent strength and intelligence buff (It's better for teamfights and pushing minions).

Ability 2 - Heavenly Reflection

Amaterasu charges her mirror and reduces all damage you take while charging it. Reactivates the ability to fire a projectile that deals physical damage to enemies, increasing based on the amount of charge on the mirror.

Dealing and receiving damage charges the mirror, with damage dealt increasing when the mirror is fully charged. Projectile passes through enemies and walls.

It is the main ability that will help you push minions and tanking teamfights.

Ability 3 - Glorious Charge

Amaterasu silences enemies in front of you temporarily, then dash forward and deal physical damage.

This ability will through and damage minions, but stops on the first god hit.

If you deal damage with this skill while using Heavenly Reflection you will charge the mirror faster.

Ultimate - Dazzling Offensive

Amaterasu becomes immune to CC's and then attack 3 times, dealing physical damage to enemies in front of you each time.

Attacks will deal more damage and apply additional effects on each subsequent successful hit.

The first hit deals damage in a cone.

The second hit deals additional damage in a cone and slows.

The third hit deals even more damage and stuns around you.

Example Combos:

Divine Presence (red buff) > 3 basic attacks > Heavenly Reflection > if enemy dash > Glorious Charge > Dazzling Offensive

Divine Presence (red buff) > Glorious Charge > basics > Heavenly Reflection > Dazzling Offensive

(To push minions waves) 3 basics attacks on the same minion > Heavenly Reflection > Glorious Charge to charge the mirror > throw the projectile

How to play Amaterasu

Gameplay Start / Early Game
  • Start at the Fire Giant side in the lane. You have to push as fast as possible so activate Heavenly Reflection and hit 3 basics on the same minion to activate the passive Illuminating Strike and be able to charge your second skill to the maximum and be able to push better.

  • If you have managed to push very quickly you can go to the blue buff, but if you have not managed to push quickly, stay one more wave to be able to level up to get Dazzling Offensive and do the blue buff later more easy.

  • The following moves are push the lane and try to win the Totem (Totem gives gold for all the team and mana regeneration). Starting at level 3, you push very quickly with the red buff of your first ability, 3 basics attacks on the same minion > Heavenly Reflection > Glorious Charge to charge the mirror > throw the projectile and you will be able to get the Totem (Totem gives gold for the entire team and mana regeneration) and be able to invade the harpies on the sides or quickly make your own to continue creating pressure.

  • On the side camps you can kill the gold camp which doesn't give you experience but a lot of gold, and the two harpy camps give gold and experience.

  • Remember to buy wards to avoid the ganks and try to comunicate to the jungle to invade blue buffs or try to kill the solo laner.

  • From this point it is repeating the same thing push minions > blue buff > Totem > harpy camps.

Mid Game:
  • At this point of the game, which is roughly between 10:00 and 20:00 minutes, you have to push the lanes as quickly as possible and try to rotate (You can do proxy farm to rotate faster) because right now you have a very good 1vs1 especially vs the jungler and the carrys and you should beat everyone, so you have to take this advantage by rotating and forcing fights or looking for kills using your Glorious Charge > basics > Heavenly Reflection > Dazzling Offensive for engage.

  • If you do rotations in mid lane, try to get into the enemy jungle to ward Vision Ward and look for the enemy jungler to be able to look for a kill or leave him with low health to be able to do the pyromancer.

  • If you use the teleporter from the solo to the duo lane, you have to do the same play but trying to kill the carry and gain the pressure to be able to do the Gold Fury.

Late Game:
  • At this point in the game your job is to be the frontline with the support as teamfights start around the fire giant at around minute 25:00.

  • You have to look for a good moment to engage the mage or the carry, or if the jungler or someone from the enemy team is poorly positioned, look for their kill. You can also make a quick fire giant because Amaterasu has a lot of dps and with your carry you can kill it quickly.

  • Also Amaterasu is really good to push towers and phoenix so you can try to push the duo lane or mid game to get the towers or phoenix.

  • To deal with this type of situation you have to take advantage of the Divine Presence healing yourself, using the bushes to become invisible, and look for a good opportunity to engage with Dazzling Offensive.

  • The moment you have the fire giant buff, the sieges on the Phoenix begin. Here you have to continue taking advantage of your potential to heals yourself and destroy the Phoenix with the help of your carry and mid slowly. You can also go with your jungle or alone to another Phoenix to create pressure since you have a lot of defense to tank and your jungle can do good damage to the Phoenix easily, adding to the fact that you have a very good fight.

  • If the enemy has the fire giant and it is your turn to defend the Phoenix, you have to be in a group with your team and defend under the Phoenix, being careful with the picks.

  • Constantly call for all information, when you engage try to be followed by your team, always be sure of your decision making.

  • Remember to wards all the zone on fire giant and when you are sieging you need wards too.

How to ward as Solo

White circles: Vision Ward
Green circles: Sentry Ward

Early/Mid Game

Here you can see the best spots to ward as a Sololaner.

These wards will help you to know where the enemy sololaner is moving, as well as if the jungler is trying to gank you.

High Pressure Game

These wards are when you have a lot of pressure in lane and you want to invade blue buffs and red buffs. Remember to call your team that you want to invade so they can help you.

Late Game

These wards are for fire giant teamfights. Remember that you can only have 2 wards active at the same time, so you will need help from your team to ward the entire area from the fire giant.

Siege/Defense Phoenix

These wards are very important when it comes to sieges and defending phoenixes. In this case, the wards are the same whether you defend or attack.
This wards are important because mages often cast abilities through walls, you will be able to react better to their abilities.
