Hey guys! :D This is myfirst guide and I'll be showing you how I like to play my favorite god, He Bo.
He Bo is a magical damage dealer which has a very high potential. If you know to play situationally, He Bo is very awesome. Today I want to talk about the hybrid build I like to do on him. In my opinion, without ANY defens items, he is pretty squishy, and he'll die before he can deal any damage. To do the proper damage that he should do, You must kind of get in the middle of the battle, and you don't want to die right away.
Steady Flow
This is an awesome passive, especially helpful for this build, as it adds your missing magical power.
Water Cannon
This ability is the main damaging ability that you will use to farm and to damage enemies. You should spam it much, and the CDr on Breastplate of Valor is pretty useful for him. If you're in the mood for a full CDr build, you can get Shoes of Focus, but if you do that you must replace Obsidian Shard from your build.
I like to max this ability first so I can clear minion waves fast.
Flood Waters
This is He Bo's main escape skill and it will mostly get you in and out of battle pretty decently. I also use this ability to get my stacks up on Steady Flow, and you should use it always before an initiation.
Waterspout
This one.. is, I may say, the bread and the butter of He Bo. It is very useful in chasing, harassing and lane sustain. When clearing minion waves, after hitting melee minions with Water Cannon, Damage archers with this ability. Plus, this ability is very fun to use because, admit it, you like to throw people in the air. ;)
Crushing Wave
What can I say? This is an awesome finishing skill and a last moment escape skill. It has, I believe, the second most instant damage in game, before Spirit's Tempest. You should be carefulwhen using this ultimate. It's not going on a very long distance and it leaves you very vulnerable if you are behind enemy lines. Don't be predictive. Enemies will mostly buy Aegis Amulet against you and it's very frustrating when they use it right before you pressed *click*. You can use it to easily escape out of Pillar of Agony and also damage Hades.
For laning, He Bo is very good either on mid either on side lanes. You want to clear enemy minions with Water Cannon and Waterspout, or just spam Wwater Cannon and leave Waterspout for enemy gods. He Bo is a very good overextender, as he can throw his ganker in the air with Waterspout and then Flood Waters or Crushing Wave(in worst cases).
In mid lane, try to clear enemy minions and leave the enemy god to do his job, because he will mostly not clear them faster than you will. Let the enemy initiate, and then do your job. Some "hard tasks" for He Bo in 1v1 would be mostly carries, because they can easily escape out of your damage bursting and they have powerful and annoying stuns, so be careful and never stay in place when laning against someone like Neith or Anhur. Some mages that would be pretty hard to kill and avoid are Anubis, Ao Kuang, Poseidon and Freya.
In side lanes, it should be easy for you with any partner, if he/she cooperates. Try to help teammates out of skills like Brutalize with Waterspout.
I don't think someone would jungle with someone like He Bo(at least I won't),but I want to talk a litle about ganks. When ganking, you must be sure that your enemy will be dead or will retreat after the gank. Don't attack a full lifed Hades or Ymir, because you will mostly be dead in seconds. He Bo deals great with multiple targets, and you should consider that. Every time when you initiate a gank, remeber to use Flood waters to get stacks on your passive and make it harder for the enemy to escape. If the enemy is overextended inthe redzone, try to do this combo Flood waters-> Waterspout-> Water Cannon-> Water Cannon. If they are in yellow or orange zone, don't begin with Waterpout, use it after youhit the enmy once with Water Cannon.
In teamfights, He Bo, as wise man said once, must "float like a butterfly"(
So, this is much how I like to play He Bo, and how he fits me best. Thanks for reading my guide :) Peace!
