Too much damage, too tanky, restricts movement - He has nearly everything I should be fearful of. Fortunately, in late game, he's hard pressed to get a kill on me.

Normally, given that my team usually doesn't give godlike peel, early game is really hard against a Loki. Late game, he gets pooped on.

Lots of hard CC that destroys Kukulkan. Also, she can jump away from all his abilities. Good on the offensive and defensive side against him.

His pool screws everything up, his ult bursts, his movement speed is great for catching me and dodging my abilities, and he also hits like a truck. Hard opponent, but not unkillable.

For many months, I was sticking only to Mage and Hunter, and finally branched out other classes. Then I stayed too long in those classes. Once I tried Kukulkan a few times, I returned to form. Kukulkan is no solidly placed as my second mage pick. And now, with this build, I think I’ve finally found the exact way I should be playing him.
If you would like to see evidence of my performance with him, keep an eye on the video feed on this site. I try to post once a week, at a minimum. As always, great deals of feedback are much appreciated, so fire away, so long as you read the pros/cons sections beforehand. Thank you for viewing.

Pros
I love Smite because I can comfortably mess around with all sorts of Character builds. In League of Legends, and for a time, Paragon, it was hard to break off from the existing meta. I’m looking at you Critical Strikes! This build may not be as far-afield as other builds that I run (little surprise coming soon), but it was still fun to finalize through 4 iterations. I’m really happy with where it’s at, and rarely feel a time in-game where I’m struggling because of it. Once again, let me know what all of you think. Thanks.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

Typically (at this stage of Season 5) you don't build 2 stacking items. With the relative nerf to Warlock's Staff and the buff to Book of the Dead, The 2 Book build gives you a measure of survivability so as to be okay in not building Warlock's.
In addition, Warlock's takes a long time to stack, and in this situation, you can see in your build that you're greatly delaying greater offensive pressure, as you're getting your first pen item 4th (and Warlock's is pretty weak as an offensive item compared to some others). This is the biggest reason not to stack...because you want to be applying that offensive threat as soon as possible. This absolutely delays it.
But the survivability of your build is definitely enhanced by Warlock's + BotD. At the point you're greatly increasing your health, though, arguably you'd get better function out of protections, of which you have none.
Most Kuku players these days are going to rely more on their burst damage through Zephyr and their ult, which makes Spear of the Magus less appealing, at least to some. We absolutely get the use of Magus with regard to ticking damage from Whirlwind, but that's something to consider.
Don't get Hide of the Urchin as an option for BotD/Poly. Consider Mantle of Discord instead, would be my suggestion, if you do sub. Again, with the health boost from Warlock's, protections are probably going to do more for your survival at that point.
Ob Shard should be an alternative to Magus...you can keep Magus as your preferred pen, but Shard should not be ignored as a consideration.
And you have a point with Soul Reaver, though I still think Reaver is a good option overall. A lot of times, you won't land WW on an enemy, since it has a delay. This leaves you with only 2 other abilities, 1 of which is an ult that's not going to be up that often, to get the passive proc. I do prefer Reaver when you can easily hit 3 of 4 damaging abilities...but it's not a bad item, and again, should probably be listed as an option.
This is also what makes him a challenge to play. In order to get the most out of him, you need that high damage, but without a true escape, it makes him a big target. So it's mostly poking/harassing from afar with Whirlwind, committing more strongly to a kill with Zephyr + Polynomicon, and timing your ult to either teammates' controlling CC abilities, or on an enemy that's diving you up close. You're not looking to box.
This also means you need to be more aware of your surroundings, be good with warding to cover your butt, and hiding behind tanks/locating yourself well in a teamfight.
In teamfight modes, you're okay building some protections... Mantle of Discord, as I mentioned earlier, can work well. Yes, it has less direct survival than Urchin, but comes with CDR (which is great for teamfight modes) and has a passive stun that can give you an extra second to relocate/escape/get a last hit. But for Conquest, don't get Urchin.
I just want to say, Hide of the Urchin does benefit this build. I'm getting 10% magic increase from it, so that's 25 magic damage, which is not useless. I get 20 more from warlocks, 20 from book of the dead. I build lots of mana items in this build because all they do is increase my overall damage. Of course, what is that damage without pen, but I aim to rectify that by potentially building obsidian shard.
Urchin definitely has survivability in it with dual protections and a chunk of health and mana. but saying you get 25 from Urchin and 20 from Warlock's is not accurate...you get a total of 12.5 from Urchin and 125 from Warlock's. (FYI 5% mana is converted to power...the 250 mana from Urchin is 12.5, not 20).
This is not significant enough to even say that Urchin provides offense.
You can build Urchin, Warlock's, or both on basically ANY mage...but I'm just letting you know that that is absolutely stunting your offensive potential. You will never see good Kuku players build Urchin unless they absolutely have to because they're being focused like crazy...and at that point, you're conceding that you're not going to be the offensive juggernaut you could be otherwise.
So, it's one of those items you can build if you really need to, but it shouldn't be emphasized in a build.
Then again, in a teamfight mode like Arena, I might get it if I was focused a lot, just to stay alive.
Once again, I'll mix up my Kukulkan build more and find what's best. Thanks again.
