Loki

My guide is written for people that are not totally new, but still have a way to go, if you have a total of 800 games like me, then you will not learn to much here.

some if you might think: OMG NOOB, U CNT HAVE 7 ITMS IN GAME!!!
well you are right, but the last item is what i buy if i lose my Heart seeker stacks late game. just keep that in mind :)

my best game as Loki is 32kills, 3 deaths and 7 assists. so i dare say i am pretty competent at playing and building him :)

THIS IS A CORE BUILD, AND ARE MADE WITHOUT ANY COUNTER ITEMS, COUNTER ITEMS MUST BE APPLIED BY YOURSELF

Notes

some of the items are less important than the others. in jungle build you can forget about the rage, and rather take another more situational item. like i love using Voidblade vs heavy AD teams, both tanky and damaging. maybe a for extreme tankiness.

boots of celerity are a very good pick on Loki, its just that i get feed 70% of the time, and therefore are not as dependent on being fast. (unless to gank faster) and therefore like taking warriors tabi for the dps.

Pros / Cons

Pros
good single burst, makes it easy to kill a single target.
2 escapes, even though you really do not want to use your ult.
good for jungling.

cons
have problems taking down more than 1 target at a time, unless feed. making teamfights and sometimes lane phases harder.

How to play loki

Everyone with a common game sense can say when to pressure, and when to retreat, but its 1 thing just as important, and that is to know when you initiate, i have seen countless Loki players choosing their fights badly. and ending up doing badly/mediocre, and raging at others. DO NOT be one of those. the secret of success in smite is patience, if the opponents are not showing weakness, dont attack them blindly to make one. wait untill they make one themselves, like moving to far from eachothers, or to miss the stuns, times like that is usually a good time to attack. Loki is also a squishy, this means that knowing ones limits are very important.

make sure to scream at your teams tanks to actually place some wards. those are way to little used in pubs. ;)

Jungling

personally i enjoy taking speed buff early if mid can come help spray him down. give it to a tank like Ymir or Sobek, if your lane have no tanks just take it yourself.

its is very important that you take buffs at once you get your lifesteal up, or earlier, if you have a tank try get him to attack a buff, so you can pick it off when its low.

Items

Items not mentioned in this guide, but can still be very useful:

as a starter item
Vampiric Shroud

Base stats and passive has changed.
+10 Magical Power
+100 Health
+5 MP5
PASSIVE - Killing an enemy restores 10 health and mana.

im not particulary fond of starting items, but if i had to choose 1, this is a clear winner.

Brawler`s beat stick
a item i take vs strong healing team like ra and hel (if you see both i would take this no matter what) or many AD carries, to weaken the lifesteal (though most if the time you will kill them before they attack you too much), this is taken as primary lifesteal item, personally want to take as third or fourth item.

Frostbound hammer
i am not very fond of this item, it have a good passive but i feel it is overkill on loki. pluss if you get it too early, it makes your DPS worse. you get it late and you kill everything in 3 hits anyway. so not a personal choice. though many people like this item, therefore i will let it have its place in this guide.

Items you do not want to use:

You do not want to use any type of hard tank or mage items, mage items because its wasted on you, and full tank item ONLY if you are hand countering someone, like if you are vs 4 really ****ty players and 1 insane strong mage, i would take a strong magical defence item in my build. personaly i make sure my defence items have a neath passive as those are not affected by penetration.

abilities

never buy it, never need it, never wanna waste a ability slot on it.

most people buy this, and end up using it at 1 hp, just making people wait 2 sec more. the ability is mostly a hard counter, and fits more on bruisers. as a very squishy AD i do not want to be immobile 2 sec and getting myself surrounded. and when you use it, you pretty much scream: i am ****ed, do not get me, and ends up with more aggro.

just what i always wanted, a way to get +20 physical power, no thanks.

some duos get this on the tank to get speed lvl 1, but do not get it on Loki. if you MUST have it, get it on the support.

this item saves my *** 24/7, it removes pretty much all cc you might get running away/initiating, ever had problems with a Ymir lane, and ending up not being able to kill/escape because of the damn 3 sec stun? well beads are here, and they are good.

sprint
i love this ability, give me the opportunity to chase/escape whenever its off cooldown.

Summary

if you have any questions (no matter what is it) feel free to contact me at [email protected] or add me in game as Orbmaniac (main)

and i will be sure to tell you everything you want to know.

if this guide is missing some points, or you feel like something can be improved, give me a comment/message, and if nothing happends then downvote it, it would really suck for me to get downvoted without a chance to improve my guide :)

and i will never cover any other game mode than conquest, as that is mostly all i play.

EDIT: after 4 hours i am done, this did take quite some time, and will be uppdated here and there, but do not espect me to change them the same day a new patch is released. first i need to get a grip around the new metas, and then i need to remember to uppdate. :P
