Chapter Title

Capt_Elfimis here with my 3rd complete guide featuring the tiny decimator of crits (that everyone thinks is a girl!)

Ne Zha: The Third Lotus Price

This guide is focused primarily on Joust, although is applicable in Arena, Siege, and possibly Clash. The majority of what is said here is focused on 3v3 compositions and that should be taken into consideration when using this build/guide. Let's get started!!!

Introduction

Ne Zha is an assassin who like most is primarily focused on high single target damage, however he also features some crowd control and the ability to make highly effective engages to launch a team fight or quickly take down a 1v2 situation.

Like most assassins, he is a go to for the Jungle role in Conquest but today we are going to focus on some Joust play and how to dominate the 3v3 battlefield.

Pros / Cons

Pros

--Very high single target dps--
--crowd control--
--Ultimate is near impossible to block--
--Easy combo's--
--Excellent team synergy--

Cons

--CC can be instant death--
--Escapes are challenging--
--Early game mana burn (combos are expensive)--
--Missing your Armillary Sash can cost you a fight--

Skills

Ne Zha has a rather interesting kit for an Assassin and it's highly integral to understand his entire kit and make sure that it is being properly utilized throughout the match. It is also critically important to understand how your kit indirectly benefits your teammates as well. I will try not to get terribly long winded on skills but no promises!

Righteous Spirit

This is your passive and its use is pretty straight forward. This skill works in tandem with Flaming Spear to give yourself a small heal which can be very useful in a close encounter. Your basic attacks on Minions or enemy Gods will give you stacks (up to 20)(Critical strikes earn an additional stack) and for each stack you will be healed 1.25%

Universe Ring Toss

Damage:75/100/125/150/175(+20% of your physical power)
Bounces:3/4/5/6/7 (Multiple hits on the same target deal 25% less damage)
Protections Debuff:15 per hit (Lasts 3seconds)
Slow:25% (Lasts 1 second)
Movement Speed:5% per hit (Lasts 2seconds)

This will be your main skill for poking and leading an engage for your team. This skill has so much versatility if you are planning what your usage of it is that it's pretty mind blowing. It debuffs your targets, slows them, and speeds you up which makes its combo utility very high.

Flaming Spear

This is your self buff and offers multiple benefits as well as the tandem for your passive, consuming your stacks to self heal

Attack Speed:15/25/35/45/55%
Critical Strike Chance:15%
Duration:4/4.5/5/5.5/6s

Spoiler: Click to view

Armillary Sash

The second power house of Ne Zha's kit, this skill hooks to the target and pulls you in while dealing damage and providing a 1 second stun.

Damage:70/100/130/160/190(+100% of your physical power)
Stun:1 second

This skill works similarly to a leap but it must hit the target and it can only pull you to an enemy target, not friendly. It has a rather beefy 10 unit range (the tool tip stats "radius" but i find that deceptive to new Ne Zha players as it fires in a straight line) which makes it highly effective for closing fleeing gods.

Wind Fire Wheels

Ne Zha's ultimate and one of the best in the game as it is painfully difficult to predict and block. It delivers massive amounts of damage as every hit in your ult can be a critical hit with proper timing.

Damage Per Hit:40/60/80/100/120(+30% of your physical power)
Damage(Landing):60/100/140/180/220(+50% of your physical power)

Your ult launches the target in the air and prompts a short "mini-game" so to speak. You just need to click when the "Crit" circle Icons light up, each successfully timed attack becomes an automatic critical hit.

Items

There is a good bit to cover here so i'll try to keep the majority of it as simple in explanation as possible. For a quick glance, just read the short version and for a more in-depth look choose the spoiler tag versions.

Build 1 - Aggressive Ne Zha - The Situation is Critical

Warrior Tabi
A solid start for an Ability Crit build. Focus here is maximizing raw DPS, thus making these the ideal boots over others for this build

Rage
This provides good early game power and starts focusing Crit Chance and Damage right away. I had debated this items purchase order multiple times but have found it to be useful for early pressure, thus it's placement.

Jotunn's Wrath
This is kind of a subjective item and will depend on preference somewhat but ultimately still very useful. Power, Pen, CDR, and some Mana making it an all around beneficial item.

Spoiler: Click to view

Wind Demon
Wind Demon
This may be a controversial choice to some but it's ultimate use is not in the passive but simply providing us with more Power and Crit Chance. If you are just vehemently against it's use in lieu of a different passive, I recommend replacing with Brawler's Beat Stick

Malice
An absolute must and amazing choice for this build, you get a nice boost to Power, Crit Chance and a passive that makes Ne Zha's kit an absolute punisher. 'nough said.

Deathbringer
Same as Malice. More power. More Crits. and Passive puts your damage through the roof literally pushing full build crits to the 1600+ range consistently.

Build 2 - Safer Ne Zha - Ping.Pong.Crit

This will only cover the items not listed in build 1. Please refer to those as the usage and reasoning for choosing them is the same.

Hydra's Lament
Some power and giving you higher CDR as well, the passive will give you some nice bonus damage on a basic after using Armillary Sash to close in on your foe.

Brawler's Beat Stick
This makes a strong counter item as it pushes your Power/Pen into a higher range for taking down heavier gods (Warriors/Guardians) or counter building defensive ADC's/Assassins.

Team Work/Gameplay

Team Work makes the Dream Work

Ne Zha provide a lot of team synergy in ways that are often taken for granted and is exceptionally deadly in a team fight in the right hands as long as your coordinating with your teammates.

A basic recap of your skills and how to use them to benefit your team

Universe Ring Toss provides a slow and hits multiple times, the slow and damage combined can provide quick assists in multiple ways for nearly any team comp. It's range makes it very useful if 2/3 of you are in a chase for the deicide.

Armillary Sash provides the 1 second stun and again, provide an immense amount of synergy in team combo's, the possibilities are endless here.

Wind Fire Wheels is an excellent killer but can also benefit your entire team in shutting down super tanks like Sylvanus as it can provide the initial engage of combo's to keep a tank pressured down.

Gameplay, it's not just for tryhards!

Early-Game:
Make your starting purchases and quickly head to the red camp with your team and secure the red buff (it doesn't really matter if you get this buff first or if another player takes it, work it out with your team). Focus on the first wave and becareful if an early team fight breaks out as you are quite frail at the start. With that being said, don't be afraid to punish and over extended enemy. First bloods are relatively easy for Ne Zha to secure. After first wave and engage (if there was one) rotate to your blue camp and clear it if your allies have yet to do so.

Focus waves. Camps when they are up. Purchases when needed. Punish the over extended.

Mid-Game:

By this point your damage is scary, under level'd or poorly fed ADC's and squishies will be sure to stray Wayyyyyy away from you if they have any sense at all. Continue pushing the lane heavily, Rotate camps including the enemy blue camp if you can. Don't be afraid to get much more aggressive at this point as your combo's should be securing kills left and right.

Be aggressive, Ward ward ward ward (ganks can kill you very quick), push the Fire Giant/Bull King (w/e you want to call it) if the opportunity arises.

Late-Game
At this point you are probably or should be the carry and the strongest player in the game. Killing is your middle name and you can shut down any feeble attempts on your life with swift and graceful crits. Ganking should become your middle name and being very mobile at this point is useful to bait, trap, and kill wandering foes. Your Flaming Spear/ Armillary Sash combo should be nearly insta-killing anyone that's not a tank. Remain very aggressive and very mobile to push onward to victory. You can start picking up Potion of Physical Might and Elixir of Power when you have the spare coin. Double stack them with Red Camp buff and FG buff and you will pretty much one shot anyone with your 2/3 combo.

Summary

Hopefully you read and enjoyed the entire guide or at least learned something about
Ne Zha that you may not have know previously. An exceptional power house and versatile assassin, his presence in Joust with a more confined battle space make him a terrifying foe in the right hands. It is here that we must end this wonderfully delightful trip down
Critical Lane and get back to smiting!
