Warrior Tabi:
The reason why I choose Warrior Tabi, and not Ninja Tabi is because it gives Thanatos some extra penetration other then what Scent of Death, and Jotunn's Wrath gives him.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Ninja Tabi:
Ninja Tabi is good for its 15% CDR (Cool Down Reduction or Crowd Control Reduction) but, if you take this instead of the Warrior Tabi, and Jotunn's Wrath combo for my assault build then you are getting instead Deathbringer. Deathbringer increases Thanatos's critical strike damage by 50%, Your physical power goes up to 15/32/50%, and the critical strike chance goes up to 0/10/20%
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Jotunn's Wrath:
Using Jotunn's Wrath on Thanatos gives 10/25/40 physical power, 5/10/15 physical penetration, and a 25% CDR (Cool down reductions or Crowd control reduction) Just like Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath's penetration bonus goes great with Scent of Death.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
focused voidblade
Focused Voidblade:
Picking up Focused Voidblade gives Thanatos gives 30 more physical power, and
50 physical protection, and its passive gives 25 more penetration. This is a good item to take for Thanatos but, if you grab this you already have probably max penetration with your Scent of Death, unless its my arena build you will probably be fine without it.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Bloodforge:
Bloodforge is very good on Thanatos for its 40 physical power, +20% physical lifesteal, and every hit you get on a enemy god you gain +5 physical power, and +2 physical lifesteal for 4 seconds. Max stacks go up to 5.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Deathbringer:
I choose Deathbringer because, it will increase your critical strike damage by 50%, your physical power goes up to 15/32/50%, and the critical strike chance goes up to 0/10/20%. Getting soom critical strike damage on gods like Loki, works just the same as getting it for Thanatos.
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Titan's Bane:
I have Titan's Bane in here because, it boosts Thanatos's physical power by 10/20/30%, his physical penetration by 11/22/0%, but to make up for losing the penetration all of Thanatos's basic attacks gain 33% physical penetration.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Malice:
Malice on Thanatos with Deathbringer is like Artemis or Loki, the damage is devastating.
Thanatos gains 5/15/25% physical power, 10/20/40% critical strike chance, 3/6/9% attack speed, and Malice does not have a passive. Why does this item not have or require a passive? well because, the main purpose of Malice is the extra 5 physical power, and 10 critical strike chance which can make getting Malice a way better option then picking up rage.

shield of regrowth
Shield of Regrowth:
For my assault build its a pretty good item for its +60 magic protection, it gives Thanatos a nice boost in physical power +20, +15 HP5, and its passive is when Thanatos is hit by an enemy gods ability his HP5 is increased by 100% for 5 seconds. In assault this can be pretty damn useful since you will more then likely be matched against 2 - 3 magical gods, and in Assault its pretty much constant fighting.

Pros:
Every Kill Thanatos Gets Heals Him
Has Insane Jungle Sustain
Has A Decent Amount of CC
Mobile
Thanatos Can See Enemy's Through The Map
There Is A AoE (Area of Effect) On His 3rd Basic Attack.
Cons:
Thanatos Uses A % Amount of Health When Using His Skills
He Has No Escapes, Besides His Ult "Hovering Death" and His Speed Buff Skill "Scent of Death"
Can Be Shutdown Very Easily (Low Health)
Some Skills Are Hard To Land.
And like any Thanatos guides this is probably going to be the exact same.
Harvester of Souls:
Harvester of souls is a very good jungling AND laning passive. Harvester of Souls allows you Thanatos to reveal enemies in the jungle if there hp is below Thanatos's ultimate's instant kill threshold, and when you kill a god or creep you get a % of their max hp back. Killing an enemy god gives Thanatos 20% of their max hp back to himself, and 10% for killing minions.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Death Scythe:
Death Scythe is Thanatos's main skill. Thanatos throws his scythe at an enemy god or minion, and gets back his hp depending on the damage - does 400 damage you will get 50% of that back as hp (useless for killing creeps unless you are in dire need of hp) This skills damage goes to 100/170/240/310/380 at max, and an additional 10% of the target's current hp. This skill consumes 10% of Thanatos's max hp, while slowing enemy gods down for 3 seconds.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Scent of Death:
This is your chase mechanism, speeding you up by 10/15/20/25/30%. If you are chasing someone within your Hovering Death's kill threshold you will gain more movement speed depending on how much health the enemy god has left - 10/15/20/25/30%. Scent of Death also boosts your penetration by again 10/15/20/25/30% depending on what level your skill is at. Thanatos using Scent of Death gets slow immunity. Using this skill consumes 5% of Thanatos's max hp.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Soul Reap:
This skill Thanatos swings his scythe slashing at enemy gods, and minions doing from anywhere from 100/150/200/250/300 (+80% of your physical power, and also silencing them.
Using this skill consumes 5% of Thanatos's man hp, and you move at a reduced rate while swinging.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Hovering Death:
Thanatos's beautiful ultimate is like Thor, and Apollo's ultimate's combined into 2. The ultimate flies you up in the air while you can control where you go so you can land on your prey like you were an eagle. If any god is below Thanatos's ultimate's threshold his passive will kick in, and allow Thanatos to instantly kill his target (Some people still think its a glitch that it does 9999 damage but that is WAY higher than max HP so that is the value used for instant kills that has been used in other games as well not just in Smite) To make it even better as you sweep down out of the air, if the god is below the % health needed to do an instant kill you will see a pop up saying EXECUTED meaning you instantly killed the enemy god.
Now pretty much a big thing you do as a jungler is Ganking. Ganking is where you pretty much ambush or flank lanes such as the mid lanes enemy god. The lanes you mainly wanna gank are the Solo Lane, and Mid Lane (Hopefully your side should be carring nicely) A way you can start a gank is by hitting the carry with Death Scythe or you can use Hovering Death to stun the carry, and or tank. If you started a battle with Death Scythe you should be able to clean up with Hovering Death if the enemy god is within your passives instant kill threshold. A big thing is once you get Soul Reap You can easily counter the mid, because the player is most likely a mage, so if you have a team mate with some sort of stun this should make ganking for you INSANELY easy.
"Okay, build is messed up, especially with the skill order. Despite the huge amount of separation, you lack flexibility. No, a freebie last items is NOT flexibility.
Skill are just copy and pasted, and gameplay is lacking. Ganking is nice, but what about clearing camps? Or ganking the duo lane?
Item explanations are bad. Saying "Crits are good" is not enough reason to pick Malice. Give better and more specific reasons." --> SubZero008.
And I will be reviewing this over, and over to see if there is anything I can incorporate into my builds, and to make this guide overall much better!
(Dark blue means first thing that will be improved or that will be in the next update of this guide, and light blue will be the next update after that)
Hey I thought i'd just throw this out there cause i have no clue on the coding needed to make a guide and not to hi jack this one, it just seems like a decent than discussion.
I have rank 10 on Than and I'm certainly not the greatest, but this build is what I'm currently obsessed with after much tinkering.
tier 1 asi and death toll starter with 2 pots
then finish asi, while working in tier one 300g tabi, finish tabi, then blood rage, rage (malice) , deathbringer, and the final item is pretty situational , more often then not i go urchin and the stacks are pretty fast to get at that point in the game, as god killing is all thats really happening, but titans and qin (both default and sai) are common 6th items for me as well
Theres many reasons for each item, and why pen is largely ignored as well as cdr, anyways, if anyones interested i'll elaborate
oh, i guess i should add that this is a jungle build if it isn't obvious. --> Desdicato

I started doing it because, the last time I tried it it wasn't working I could remember it working before but I immediately just went to updating, and continuing from there.
I have a habit of doing to so I can view how it looks, I will try my best to cut down on that while I update the guide.

Then why, pray tell, did you publish?

Downvote, don't publish unfinished guides.
I know its unfinished look at the title it still says WIP I don't have much time a day to put into this so im doing mini updates, and working on it. I haven't updated any of the descriptions that much since I posted this months ago, and all I did recently to the malice was change the picture to malice from rage, and updated the items crit chance, and etc. I am slowly working on all of this.
