Cu Chulainn is a high damage lane bully in the solo lane. He excels in the early game and dominates in mid-game team fights. With a leap to effectively immune damaging abilities and his ultimate to immune crowd control, the Hound of Ulster has an easy time getting a lead and is very hard to shut down. Cu Chulainn is strong at all stages of the game. He can easily 100-0 carries if he catches them out and remains a huge threat in team fights late-game while most warriors fall off.
Start off by buying Bluestone Pendant and Chalice of Healing. Get two Healing Potions and Blink Rune.
Go to speed buff at the start of the game. Clear it as fast as possible and then head to mini harpy camp. Your jungler will be on the bigger harpy camp and will pull them towards you. You will use Barbed Spear on the minis so you don't gain much rage. After both camps are down, head to blue. Clear blue then go to lane.
In lane just focus on clearing but use Barbed Spear and Salmon's Leap on your lane opponent as well as the wave if possible. If the enemy lane opponent goes anything but Bluestone Pendant, you will either match their clear or outclear them. The goal is to get full boots on your first back but look for kills if you can while you're Berserk, you'll out-trade anyone while you're transformed. You want to back once you clear the wave that comes as the second blue spawns.
Once you get boots ( Warrior Tabi or Reinforced Greaves) and level 5, look to use Spear of Mortal Pain on the wave and your lane opponent. You will kill them from full health if you use your two abilities, your ult, and do the same while Berserk. After you get your boots you're looking to bully your lane opponent. Poke them out, out clear them, fight them on totem, try to invade their blue or proxy. Do whatever you can do to get pressure then make a lead off of that pressure by invading and denying farm. If you proxy the wave, you can do the enemy minis and back camps or gank the middle lane. Make sure to place deep wards before you proxy. You'll lose your lead if you get caught out.
As the solo laner and frontline during team fights you want to be initiating for your jungler and pressuring their backline so they're not free casting onto your team. Usually how this works is you Blink Rune in, use Spear of Mortal Pain right after on as many people as you can so you start transforming, get Barbed Spear and Salmon's Leap off on a squishy as you transform, and then use Ground Slam, Furious Charge, and War Cry on whoever you go on. You'll be killing whoever you focus unless they use Aegis Amulet and have an immediate escape afterwards. Cu Chulainn is very disruptive in fights with his AoE knockup and tremble. The disruption helps your jungler go in so they can help you kill the backline. He can also push people away from their team, stopping supports peel for their carries or pushing an enemy into even more danger. Pushing people to your team with Furious Charge is great if you can't kill them alone. Be careful diving their backline alone late game, you do a lot of damage but you can't kill carries who have peel from their supports and their relics (often Purification Beads and either Magic Shell or Aegis Amulet) off cooldown.
Salmon's Leap is a great ability for dodging damage as it has almost no start up. You can jump over almost every ability on reaction. Make sure you land on the god who's trying to hit you unless you're trying to run from them.
When people run from you, auto-attack them until they get out of range and then use your abilities, you do a lot more damage this way. Only immediately use your abilities when you want some quick poke or when securing a kill. Your autos have extra range, use it.
Holding your ultimate so you can immune CC is very important. It helps keep you alive in fights and is one of the things that allows Cu Chulainn to take fights that other warriors can't.
Fight the enemy solo laner in the wave if they're not really tanky. Barbed Spear stuns minions so you'll take less damage from them than your lane opponent will.
When you take 1v2s or 1v3s, try to line up your abilities on both or all of the enemy gods. It doesn't feel too important, but you end up racking a lot of damage and can get double or even triple kills instead of just killing one god and then getting out. It also helps stack rage faster.
All in all, Cu Chulainn is a strong pick in the solo lane. He can easily punish weaker gods and get a sizeable lead which lets him be a menace to the enemy backline in team fights. You can't go wrong by picking him but your enemies will wish you hadn't.
