Hello! I want to welcome you to my 2nd Smite-fire guide. Today, I will be covering a very special god, Chronos. Chronos to me, is a very unorthodox mage. I believe that he isn't a god for everyone. His kit is very intricate and takes some time to get used to. Chronos is a late game hyper carry along with the lines of Kali and maybe Ao Kuang.
Chronos is a Greek Mage who can destroy his enemies with the use of his basic attacks. Chronos takes a bit of effort to come online & can be shutdown if ganked a lot.
Pros
Passive.
Undoubtedly one of the most useful passives in the whole game, this single passive will provide Chronos with a plethora of benefits. Chronos can use his 2nd ability to activate his passive for Healing(section 1), 100% mana refund(section 2), +20% magical power(section 3) & +35% MP contributed to basic attacks (section 4). To summarize the uses, use your 1 for when escaping/low on health, your 2 for early/mid game lane clear & your 3/4 for attacking enemy gods.
Ability 1.
A fairly simple ability and your main source of lane clear, Chronos summons a tiny AOE that damages all targets within it. It deals 260 damage +85% of your magical power. Keep in mind that this ability has a slow startup. In terms on snipes, Try to snipe to the location your opponent is moving to instead of the place where they're standing.
Ability 2.
The ability that allows you to use his passive, you can pull off some ridiculous sh!t if used correctly. It also makes him a risky target to 1v1 against. In most 1v1 situations, You'd want to use the 4th section of your passive and basically AA your enemy to death. (Your basic combo should be 2,AA,3,2 AA's,1,AA)
Ability 3.
Chronos throws out a giant sphere of gears that hits the enemy twice. In short terms, You'd want to use this ability to lane clear (sometimes), stopping the enemy team from chasing an ally & setting up your combo. Also, I urge you that if your fighting a Ravana or Chang'e, Use this ability when
and
are on cooldown.
Ability 4.
A fairly peculiar/hard to use ultimate, Chronos rewinds to where he was exactly 8 seconds ago and regains his health/mana at the time. You'd want to use ability as soon as you find yourself in trouble. Chronos can
to escape ults like
and
.
Shoes of the Magi
Chronos really benefits from the additional magic power and magic pen that this item provides. A better pick for him then
Chronos' Pendant
This item provides you with +75 magical power, 20% cooldown reduction and +25 MP5. It's a great item on him. After all, it's Chronos' Pendant.
Polynomicon
Combined with the Section 4 of
. You can punish any enemy god for making the mistake to fight you.
Telkhines Ring
The reason why I pick telkhines over
is for the attack speed. The attack speed on telkhines Ring is far better and will help you kill enemy faster. Although it's not as powerful as demonic grip, It's a better pick for Chronos then
Doom Orb
A good stacking item for Chronos, I prefer not to build this item first. In mid-late game, you will clear oncoming waves faster.
Rod of Tahuti
A usual final pick for mages. (sometimes, I accidentally have enough money early game to buy this item instead of Chronos' Pendant. It's a weird but effective pick for him)
Spear of Desolation
This is should be be your alternative final pick instead of
. It takes some patience to really get it within your build so, pick this as your final item (The CDR after killing enemy gods helps alot)
Demonic Grip
The alternative pick for
, It gives you a decent amount of power along with attack speed.
[Mail of Renewal
Paired up with
, Chronos will benefit from killing enemy gods.
Obsidian Shard
An inexpensive version of
, I find myself using this item in early/mid game. You should replace this item once you reach late game.
Ritual Dagger
Ritual Dagger
This is what you should pick over
if you want attack speed. It also gives you some cooldown which, I find very handy.
Chronos is one of the few non hunter gods that can be played in the role of ADC. As your starter item, You should get and build into . Build lost artifact into and build into etc. For your relics, you'd want to get beads to avoid the Jungler from killing you. Awilix is quite worrisome for Chronos in early game. She can use her knock up into her ult to kill him. You'd want to bead's as soon as she is about to knock you up. Therefore, you can be safe and possibly kill her. As for the support, Chronos seems to work well with Kumbhakarna, Terra, Ares and Sylvanus. Both Kumbhakarna and Ares are extremely helpful for Chronos in terms of chasing fleeing enemies. Finally, I find both Terra and Sylvanus to be extremely helpful because of their healing. Chronos is squishy early game and will likely die. Terra and Sylvanus provide Chronos with healing. (Healers really make Chronos' early game less of a struggle to get through.

I just have one suggestion. I am not a huge fan of the Doom Orb because it loses stacks on death. Maybe the Obsidian Shard would be more helpful providing mid-game pen at a cheap price since pen is not in your main build.
Otherwise nice job!
As for Doom Orb, You'll have to be mind full about the stack loss. All I can really say is, just use your ult to avoid getting killed.
For obsidian shard, It's a great pen item but, I find myself replacing it at late game for another item.
Have a nice day!
