My Introduction

What's happening, guys, Stuke here with another guide. Today I decided to focus on a goddess that I found a bit more interesting when compared to others in her class. In this guide, we're going to be taking a look at the quiet, beautiful, and undisputed Queen of Solo, Chang'e.
Note: you don't have to follow this guide to the smallest detail, these are suggestions on how to play Chang'e. I encourage you to look at the comment section below and see other suggestions.

Who is Chang'e?

Chang'e is a Magical, Ranged, Mage who uses her abilities to dance her way around a fight and deal significant amounts of damage to whoever she is fighting. Not just that but the use of her rabbit companion makes for some interesting laneing phase shinanigans as, if played correctly, she could always be in lane without recalling once.

Pros / Cons

Pros
  • Hard to Lock-Down
  • High Sustain
  • Never Leaves Lane
Cons
  • Mana Dependant
  • Needs Abilites to do Anything
  • Items Are Bought One at a Time

Abilties

While most passives will give you a slight advantage to improve your or allies stats for combat, but Chang'e passive something a bit more non-combative than some of the others. Making use of her rabbit companion, Chang'e can purchase items from the store form any place on the map. The rabbit will make a journey back to the fountain to retrieve the item and run back to Chang'e with the gift she wanted. The second part of this passive is that every time Chang'e uses an ability she suffers no movement speed penalties. Perfect for dodging or getting a slight speed boost when you're chasing or escaping.
Note: Since the rabbit needs to run to and from base to give Chang'e the item, it will take some time, so be mindful where you are as it could take longer to get your new item.
In a rather large cone in front of you, Chang'e swings a crescent moon that hits all enemies within its path. Simple right, WRONG! This ability hits via animation, specifically, the Chang'e swings the crescent left to right. When activating this ability try turning yourself to the right to increase the number of people hit with this ability.
Chang'e spins in the air, becoming Crowd Control and damage immune. If Chang'e is hit while performing this dance, she will receive a small amount of mana in return. Great to use when purifucation beads is down, when you don't want to use beads, or when you need some mana.
Chang'e twirls in a circle, release flower peddle that heal all friendlies. If you hit an enemy with this ability, it reduces their healing so pairing this with anti-heal items makes the potency of this effect even more threatening. Like Cresent Moon Dance, the hit comes from the animation of Chang'e moving clockwise, turning yourself to the right can allow you to hit more targets then if just facing one direction.
Firing a large projectile in front of Chang'e damaging all enemies and stunning all enemy gods in its path but there's a bit more. For each enemy god hit, the stun increases by one second. The ability is great for getting that last hit or to set up a team fight if multiple targets are hit.

Items to Consider

Chang'e loves power, mana and cool-down reduction. Since most, if not all, Chang'e players reside in the Solo lane, building up some of her defenses will make encounters with the enemy a bit smoother than if getting no protections against potential ganks. Here is a selection of items that can synergize with Chang'e that could be a nice addition to your build.

Chang'e can heal for quite a lot but let's make it worse for the enemy if we throw this into the mix. Add in the built-in anti-heal from Moonflower Dance and we cut down the enemy laners sustain by a large margin. Rush this item as early as you can if the enemy is another high sustain god that could out-sustain you.
Power, Cooldown Reduction, and a passive which reduces all abilities on cooldown by a few seconds. Why shouldn't you get this item?
Every magical healer needs this item in their arsenal, movement speed, health, and a boost to healing makes a valued tool to Chang'e.

TIPS, TRICKS, & COMBOS

  • Bust a Move
Take full advantage of the movement speed increase and the complete immunity of Moonlit Waltz to reduce damage to yourself while constantly applying pressure to your opponent.
  • Increase the Tempo
When using your abilities, keep a note on the speed of the animations as that can affect how much damage input you put into your combo.

Combo 1
A standard combo for Chang'e as you will use Moonflower Dance to remove healing while healing herself, then continue the assault with Cresent Moon Dance to maximize your damage output. If things look bad just Waltz away and repeat the process until the enemy is dead.
Ultimante Combo
Throwing everything at once to either burst down an enemy or widen/shorten the gap from you and the enemy.

Stages of the Game

Early Game
Like most gods who are heavily ability reliant, Chang'e isn't going to perform that well at this stage. It's best to wait to get all abilities online and have your rabbit get items to gain the advantage against the enemy laner.
Middle Game
Now that we can do things, start to push up but not too far, despite her sustain and dodging skills, Chang'e is still a Mage and will need to play more cautiously than if you were to play a Warrior or a Guardian in Solo.
Late Game
Become the biggest nuisance to the enemy team, like a mosquito but if a mosquito can reduce healing, stun, and dodge damage.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, Chang'e is a Mage that doesn't like to sit in the back but get up close and bust a move or refuse to leave the lane she's occupying. Always keep the enemy on their toes, use your rabbit to get the items needed to survive, and remember to dance your little heart out.

Hi stuke! i must say i like everything about your guide, and you have some beautiful draws.
I want to add something, which is that Change's early game isn't bad as you wrote there. Her Crescent Moon Dance is doing 80 base damage (with mage's blessing it should be almost 100) and it has a 6 second cooldown.
She also has 1.01 attack speed, which is a lot for a mage, and a lot for any god to be honest, counting that gods like Hel, He Bo, Terra, Anhur and more have a lack of early attack speed.
That's all i have to say. Good guide!!

Yo,

Are you talking about Chang'e or the bunny? One of them is tiny, the other isn't.

Anyway...
  • If you're starting Mage's Blessing, and this is Solo so you expect to get the mana buff, and you're moving into BoV as the 2nd main item, then do you think maybe it would be better to go for Shoes of the Magi rather than Focus? That would be my suggestion.

  • Since you're getting BoV, perhaps Lotus Crown, which is much more beneficial in a group situation, could be delayed just a bit. Allow you to get Void Stone online earlier in place of it, for more aggressive use. If facing a magical enemy, then (back to Shoes) I can see more reason to get Focus as Void would be your first protection item.

  • With the new nerf to Gem of Isolation (particularly to the shorter duration of 1s), I think it's going to be much less functional for Chang'e, who only has single hit abilities. I feel Iso will be fine for those that have ticking abilities (e.g. Zhong Kui, Merlin), but less for someone like Chang'e. Instead, if you're looking for a mobility advantage (Iso slowed, giving Chang'e higher temporary mobility compared to her target), then Shield of Regrowth should be a consideration...at least as an option, and you don't list it. Regrowth gives her another CDR option to make up for not getting Focus also in a build where you face a physical enemy.

  • With the likelihood of getting countered with anti-heal at some point, do you still feel it's a good idea to have Soul Gem as an option? I personally wouldn't get it on her.

  • I also feel options for Rod of Tahuti and Rod of Asclepius should at least be listed.

  • What are you talking "weapon forms" in your cons?

Bran you covered pretty much everything I had to say about the guide.

Nevertheless, congratulations on delivering another good guide Stuke!
