Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

I understand this is your first guide, but this guide was my first as well. There clearly is a large difference between ours. I'm not here to rain down and say this guide sucks because it has a huge potential, but one tiny paragraph about how this build worked for you a few times isn't going to cut it. Tell me your strategies, tell me why you chose this build, tell me everything.
If I had to critique on what you have here I would have to agree with Ryvvik. Meditation is such a wasted active slot for Ymir. It wouldn't be so bad if you could sell actives back, but once you buy them you're stuck with them and that just makes meditation a deal breaker. Only God I would say off the top of my head who should get meditation without getting verbally assaulted is Aphrodite. I typically pick up Hand of the Gods and Eye of Providence. Remember, you're going to be the support, so you have to build as a support. There are other options like blink, but its more of what fits your playstyle. However, with that said, it should justify you buying meditation. Learn to control your mana usage. I understand in the early game you might find yourself mana starved, but if you use your abilities when needed you should do alright. By end game mana shouldn't be an issue at all. That active loses half of its value since all you will use it for at that point is to heal.
I don't like Hide of the Nemean Lion mostly because it only protects you from auto-attackers. Sovereignty is a better pick. I do like you picks of mystical mark and Ethereal Staff. They are great items I find to be useful for Ymir.
As I've said, this guide has a long way to go before another update should be published. Please contact me with any questions you have regarding builds, BBCode, or anything that crosses your mind!
Sincerely,
Sanguis
Anyway. All I have to say is you spelled Ymir wrong in the title.
First item to get is Watcher's Gift. You will be in a lane with a hunter, most likely, and not alone. Let him get all of the kills and watch as watcher's gift nets you more gold as if you got the last hits. It also gives some nice HP regen.
The midas boots are a common choice and a fine selection, though my preference is the greaves for extra mobility/speed and defense.
Another fatal mistake I think you made is not getting that sovereignty. This item is, in my opinion, better than mystical mark. For a tank, which is better, damaging enemies insignificantly or giving all of your nearby allies (and yourself) an addition 20 physical and 20 magical protections?
Active item wise...unless you discuss with your teammates (and if you are playing conquest) you really need to have Hand of God and you should get it to rank 3 before the gold fury and fire giant begin to get contested. Not only does hand help you clear camps early game (and getting those mid camps is very important) it lets you secure and/or steal the goldfury/firegiant late game. The only reason you shouldn't be getting this is if someone else on your team has it.
Second item is usually eye of providence for wards. However, if you are okay with buying wards you can skip this and instead grab blink or your shield to help shield allies further.
You really do not need meditation at all. If you are running out of mana early game you should have mana potions. Late game you shouldn't be running out of mana. Just manage it better. You don't need to pop your abilities to do damage...you just pop them to initiate or protect. Let your teammates do the damage.
Read it. Live by it. Fix this. That's all I have to say.
