please don't let it be true. If it is, then I don't think I could control myself, literally. Last time I had a chance to go competitive, all I remember is a complete ignorance of education and about 3 reams of papers crammed with theorycrafting. Never again shall I think of going competitive in TF2 again.
Also, I archived my Ra guide, as if this is true, I'll probably drop all biases (boring, OP, broken, bad, dull, necessary, any labelings from tier lists), clear all experience, and start from scratch, starting with comparing each and every god to each other mathematically to create a chart showing every single circumstance to pick every single god, down to all combinations of teams, all combinations of bans and picks, everything - it would show you what god to pick when you have a Guan and Athena and they have a Nu Wa and Neith, and a different god to pick if you have Guan and Athena and they have Neith and Nu Wa. I would compare health, predict when someone is at X experience and has Y items, basically predict every single possible scenario for Smite down to the last piece of gold, the last XP, the last health point, the last mana point, EVERYTHING. I would mathematically predict every possible playable game of Smite that exists. That would include Ra, so the whole guide would basically become moot.
Basically, the theorycrafting I explained would mathematically nitpick everything about smite except two things: When and Where, or Where you should be and When you should do This, or That.
I think the uncertainty of the fact saved me from the uncontrollable Smite calculator/player I would have become if the competitive scene was a definite Yes. I do not have the time to figure out the outcome of every single 1v1, 1v2, 1v3, 1v4, 1v5, 2v1, 2v2, 2v3, 2v4, 2v5, 3v1, 3v2, 3v3, 3v4, 3v5, 4v1, 4v2, 4v3, 4v4, 4v5, 5v1, 5v2, 5v3, 5v4, and 5v5 possible. Because I would.
As for Smitefire, there was talk, yes, of forming one or two competitive teams. I don't know how serious we are, or how skilled we are (I have limited experience with people, namely Muas, MadDanny, Jararo, Swampmist, Darkjaw, Pandr, and TT.), but I'm sure the rest of us are decent as well.
Anyway, I'm glad to have someone dedicated to mathematics, however. While the theory in gameplay may be hard to determine, the theory in skill building is something direly needed for the rest of us to make good assumptions.
(as an example for Theorycrafting being dangerous - Anhur's ult is the highest DPS in the game atm since Freya's nerf. And if you account for that, Anhur can 1v1 anyone, especially any other ADC in the game. But he will not be able to land every spear, guaranteed. This is where theorycrafting is flawed - it can't account for human inaccuracy, reaction time, skill, and logic.)
Still, I'm really curious how your math is going to work out, it sounds like trying to make a map of every chess game that can ever be played (which, by the way, if one entire chess game was played a second, since the beginning of time, we'd still not be close to every possible combination of moves. Or something similar.)
Sorry for the rant. Uhh.
Yes, there is talk of a Smitefire Competitive Group
Good luck in Theorycrafting, but be careful
And thanks for being a dedicated mathematician on here. We need that.
