Played him once in practice. I can easily say this:
1. Nerf the hives. Eight is far too many. Knock it down to at least 4. Also lower its effect radius, that thing can reach further than turrets. That should allow users to still benefit from the effects without having hives damn near everywhere, and forces the player to be more strategic with placement.
2. Lower the extra percentage damage on swarm. It easily crushes waves which is okay, but it still does too much damage. It's more of a waveclear than it is a god killing skill.
3. Honey is fine where it's at. It's only really effective when near a swarm. Since it has no cripple, it's okay.
4. The ultimate, admittedly, is also okay. Slow trajectory, same range as autoattack, and it has a sort of warmup time before it's fired. A well-timed player can easily disrupt with a stun and maybe silence.

EDIT:
And consider the following:
1. AMC has no escape. Catch him in a whirlpool or slow/cripple and he's screwed. In fact, any god with a movement-based ability will be able to keep up with him, including Loki's cloak. That means AMC could use (combat) blink, but he'd have to sacrifice beads or meditate.
2. He's squishy, like all hunters. Catch him in a stun and drop a nuke ult and he's dead. Loki's ult (with the right build) will also have no problem bursting him to oblivion.
3. AMC has a terrible cooldown on his ult, 90 seconds. Given what I mentioned earlier, it's not too hard to juke it. Watch for it, dodge it, and he won't be able to cast it again for a while, even if he stacked cooldown reduction items.

Edit1. 40% speed buff, only matched by Sprint. You won't catch him, even as Loki.

Edit2: Again, sustain and speed make him hard to hit and kill. And you can say "drop a stun and focus him" to 100% of the gods in this game.

Edit3: Not a problem.

His ult is very hard to juke in a teamfight, however. And even if he DOES miss, it's still only a 54 second CD if you picked up Tabi and Jotunn's. Not bad at all.

He may be squishy, but his speed and heal, combined with his slow and HEAVY positional CC on his honey, make him ridiculous.

Granted, I"ve only played him a couple times, but building Heartseeker and Deathbringer, I was already killing an Ymir with an ult+2+AA combo. He does ridiculously high damage.

His heal is actually NOT that powerful, but it's 100% enough to matter.

The hives are a bit OP. Turrets don't target them, and you can put down 1 on the max range and keep the speed buff going from your Minotaur to theirs with 2 left over (at least in the joust map). Plus they have a range longer than turrets so you can punish anyone who tried to down them with a little honey.I've only played 2 practice games with him so far, so I won't say much more than that. Also I was very surprised about the initial damage on Swarm, i thought it only applies the DoT. And i did not realise the hives stacked damage on honey, im gonna have fun with that.

i have a love hate relation ship with him right now. he needs a bit of a nerf though.
never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

I find him to be incredibly balanced the way he is right now. I like how Hi-Rez have given him a unique play style compared to the other gods. Given that he's able to shred people within a short amount of time, but so can some other gods as well.

After seeing him in some games of today, I've grown to understand some of his weaknesses. Unlike other Hunters for example, he doesn't have a leap or a dash ability which turns him into a easy target in team fights once he gets hit by a Crowd Control. His only "escape" ability would be his Hives which I find to be more of a combat steroid ability than a escape ability, and it gets destroyed by 1 basic attack.

I only played him once today... to me his ult was just okay because the damn ult has like a 2 second delay before it even comes out...

I was like holy **** is he ever going to use his ult??? Its like ra's ult delay x2

I did something funny though....
Put all hives in one spot and make a jungle of health regen

also made a big path from spawn so I can leave spawn faster lololol

Eh Piederman, I think his lack of escape makes him Artemis 3.0. If get gets combat blink he's fine, which he should. Once he gets that he's set. His damage, sustain, CC, damage, positional CC, speed, and damage are very nasty.

115% + 500, 10.8 second ult...jeebus.

So, in your now-official opinion, does he need a nerf? IMO, yes. (Aren't hunters supposed to deal single-target damage?)

Haha that sounds pretty awesome.

But anyway, in my opinion, hunters are supposed to fill one of three niches, similar across all MOBAS. Marksmen, Utility Archers, or AoE Hunters. It's not limited to ONLY single target.
Marksmen are like Anhur or Caitlyn/Vayne from LoL - one target, kill it.
Utility Archers are like Cupid or Neith, or Ashe from LoL - provide CC or support to the team, while still technically being a carry.
AoE Hunters are like Xbal or Cupid (he's a mix), or specifically Artemis ult. They'd be Miss Fortune or Twitch in LoL. Their role is to use an ultimate that hits a lot of people and do a lot of damage based on AD scaling, then they have carry damage past that. They're the more ad-caster carries.

The problem with AMC, is he fills all these rolls. He has positional CC with his honey to deter anyone from crossing a line, giving him team utility. He also has utility for himself with his movement speed/attack speed/heal bonus hives. He has very high single target damage simply based on his passive, but then his abilities are a linear shot that applies his passive, and a HUGE nuke ult that hits EVERYONE in a line, on a possible 10.8 second cooldown. Basically, he fills every role exceptionally well, that's his problem. He's not average at 3 roles, or amazing at 1 role. He's amazing at 3 roles. His only downside is squishiness, but combat blink puts him alongside any other carry.

IMO, he simply needs his damage to be tuned down. Sure he dies quick, but that's literally every carry. His ult may take a charge up, but it's basically just aiming an auto attack after 2 seconds, and it's got a rather decent width. His weaknesses are mitigated exceptionally easy by a good player, leaving no real room for counterplay with the raw amount of damage and utility he brings to the table.
