I have loved Bacchus so far, I loved him a lot. Hi-Rez had to constantly nerf him, and now I have gotten to the point where I would rather play any other god than him, and that's a shame
He was the first god I really loved next to Ymir and now his fun factor is gone. His passive is worthless since a couple of patches ago, his 1 is manahungry as hell, his jump is slow as hell and now not fun anymore, his belch has a long channeling and can be easily cancelled, so his ult is his only ability that remains fun to use. I stop playing Bacchus with these, and I am thinking about archiving my guide for him. It is kinda sad that they have done this to a god that wasn't picked up half as much as other tanks and was just about fine imo :(

The drunk fatman is entertaining, but I honestly don't think he deserves the nerfs he got. His damage output is rather low and he's only viable as a full tank at this point.

Athena is probably superior to him in almost every way at this point.

I completely agree, Bacchus has recieven way more nerfs than he should have, because people kept banning him. It wasn't even that he was better, because Ymir is arguably the best tank and always the first pick over Bacchus (in my experience) and Sobek set up his carry for a great game unlike anyone else, I think they didn't take that in consideration. Bacchus was the most irritating god to lane against, but not the strongest one
I now play Athena and Ymir, but I am sad that a once great god is ruined. They need to buff him or there isn't any reason to play my favo god anymore and that is very sad considering how much I have learned with him. He was the most fun god and the one that kept me playing smite after failing every other god in the game :'(

Sobek, in my opinion, is on the borderline. He has been for a long time, especially considering that his dash is so formidable in a duo lane. It was much, much more terrifying when it went through minions, and removing that feature was a necessary buff.

Honestly, I am not a fan of tanks having the AP power of mages, I'm really not. However, I still believe that Bacchus is lacking in power overall. He, at this point, is only viable as a tank.

Oh, and a lot of people want Shackles to be nerfed, so if that happens do not be surprised.

Bacchus isn't viable as full tank anymore, because he can't put out the cc (unable to land the bellyflop) and just gets outdamaged. His escape is also made harder.

Bacchus has one of the strongest early games as a tank. The amount of CC he puts out is just unmatched at that stage of the game (A knockup AND a stun at LV3), and with certain lane parters ( Thor, Neith, to name a few), his lane can score kills against careless players with relative ease.

The drunkeness effect from his ultimate is not to be underestimated either. It lasts for eight seconds, hampering not only the ability to escape but also making it insanely difficult to land any skill which requires aiming. Go on, I dare you to try drunk-ulting as Ra. You will have no choice but to laugh at the results.

The only thing that happened to Bacchus is now his leap has more air-time, so the enemy actually has time to react to it instead of it being pretty much an insta-knockup.

Or I can just give up on any attempt to try and bring reason into this argument and just play the "ComicBookGuy Thread" card. How's that sound?
Waiting on a good new MOBA, please.

You are right, if you can play a Bacchus well in early game he has a chance of doing very well later on. His Ult is extremely helpful, but I'm afraid that damage-wise he's still lacking.

However, Ymir has him out-beat in almost every way. More CC, more damage, one of the highest damaging ults.

REASON IS GOOD, MY FRIENDLY FEMALE SPECIMEN. ALWAYS USE REASON!
