...you do realize that it takes FIVE basics to trigger the passive, right? So you pretty much have to sit in lane, whacking minions with basics, and either lose the passive, or restrict yourself to only abilities until you get into a skirmish.

Not to mention her root is useless for initiation, considering how everyone has an escape. Not to mention trying to proc it multiple times in combat is worthless considering how she has no basic attack steroid.

There's zero "exploration" to be had here. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a ****ty passive pretending to be focused on autoattacks. Just look at her kit - you obviously need the stun to let you hit Fog. And to stun, you need to use Clay Soldiers. And to do that, you can't rely on basic attacks before or after you cast, because they'd just use an escape for the former, and you want to use Shining Metal ASAP for the latter.

And this isn't like Isis's kit, either. That one allows you a good measure of freedom in comboing. This one, you ALWAYS have to use Clay Soldiers + Metal Crystal, in that order. It's your only hard CC and it's predictable, stale, and boring. The fact that your ult is a Karthus ult means that lose a fourth ability in your possible combos, making it even more predictable.

I understand that this is a wacky kit with very little synergy, there's no denying that.

However, to make good use of this kit, I think that it needs a very unique build. For example, what if you did make this a build based on AA's? She may have no aa support outside of her passive, but there are plenty of items in the store that give her some, and that could create some mean combos. Hastened Fatalis + Demonic Grip.

Smack a bunch with your AA's, to get your passive up and reduce their magical protection... after 5 it'll root them, bam, smack down fog, bait the escape, clay soldiers into metal crystal, ult for the kill secure.

The escape is the tricky part, yes, but remember the fog does give her movement speed.

If you look at the kit, yes, it has no synergy, but I think if you look outside the box, you could find some pretty interesting tricks.

Gem of Isolation could be a useful item since the fog is a DoT, maybe Spear of the Magus

I understand that it seems a little weird that you won't be able to use your basics to initiate, and yes the ult is SO overused (the fly up into the air and rain hell). Totally agree there.

You say the kit is predictable. While I agree that it is, I think if you try out some weird builds, you could come across a very nice goddess.

Building Hastened Fatalis + Demonic Grip on her would be like building those items on Vulcan. Why on earth you do that?

You will lose too much damage. Fatalis brings no power, and Demonic gives a little bit, where as the attack speed and passive are useless when you cast spells. There is literally no reason to build those items.

She doesn't have any sort of auto attack booster. No steroids, no swing chain, nothing. Would you build auto attack Athena? Aside from the Poly procs? No. You wouldn't.

Building her AA focused would be forced, illogical and ineffective. Just for a tiny root every 5 auto attacks, you are willing to sacrifice damage and utility?

When we have passives like Hades' Blight or Vulcan's Heavy Shot, why are we moaning about this one? Sure it's slow, but a root is a root, and immobility hurts in Smite.

Also, the damage on her 2-3 combo is ****ing insane. It's also easy to hit and stuns for 2 seconds. To be honest, she's lke zhong kui with high damage and cc yet lacking mobility, and honestly that's all she and a lot of mages lack. And on other thoughts on the patch, WHY WAS JANUS BUFFED?

It would definitely be forced, yes. But it would make an interesting use of her passive. I'm not saying building AA focused would be a competitive strategy, but I think giving her maybe 1 attack speed item so she can get up her passive faster and then build her damage for the rest could actually give her a hell of a lot of cc, damage, AND utility.

Like I said, we can't really be talking about gameplay until she actually comes out.

HiRez has committed yet another murder, this time upon one of my favorite goddesses to play as.

And some folks wonder why I stopped showing up around SMITE(Fire)...
Waiting on a good new MOBA, please.

Hades' blight is also applied via his Death From Below and his silence, so it doesn't really count.

And... are you kidding me? Everybody cries about Vulcan's passive. It is the most misplaced, unfitting, underpowered, weak, stupid, and many many more superlatives relating to these adjectives, passive in the game. When do you find the time to auto attack an enemy god when you play as Vulcan? You don't. Even with his 3-2-1 combo, he doesn't have the time because if you auto attack, by the time you placed your turret the stun will wear off and you wouldn't be able to guarantee the Backfire.

Nu Wa is just the same.

Her rework is pretty bland. She's just like every other burst mage now. While she definitely needed work on her original kit, this wasn't what I had in mind. I liked that she focus more on basic attacks for heavy damage, but ever since they nerfed Polynomicon (because why work on the few gods that need it when they can nerf an item and **** everyone over? (I'll never stop *****ing about this)), she's suffered quite a bit in that department. I'll definitely be trying her out when the patch goes live, but so far what I'm seeing on paper, it's a little disappointing.

Can only imagine what they might do to Chronos and possibly Freya if they're just going to scrap the basic attack mages all together.

Freya is still strong. Chronos is now mediocre minus instead of just mediocre. Nu Wa was bad even with Poly nerfs. But the poly was too OP.

Anyhow, I won't bother playing her. I didn't really like Old Wa, I'm certainly not gonna like New Wa.
