I have problems with the current crit items.

A: Deathbringer and Rage are overused, since they are the best crit items in the game.

B: Deathbringer should be used in EVERY crit build.

C: Stacking crits above 50% gives rapidly diminishing returns.

D: The other crit items, Brawler's Beat Stick and Golden Bow, are overspecialized, and you will be punished for using them at all*.

I think Rage and Deathbringer need to be reworked, as they give way too much. Since every serious crit build uses both, this stifles build design and creativity. It would be nice if they had better variety in the crit items, like a passive that gives more lifesteal the higher your crit chance gets, or a passive that lowers an enemy's crit damage, or something cool like that.

*Deathbringer + Anything except Rage = too low. Add Rage, and its now too high.

No the crit items are fine.

Rafe death bringer are th cataclysme items for pysical gods. They are really strong but need other items to become powerfull.

The other crit items are there for different reasons goldenbow is for lane farming assassins . The reason it doesn't get picked up a lot is because assassins now jungle. Brawlers beatstick is a counter item against healer and that is why it gives you extra lifesteal.

The reason it doesn't get picked often is because there are usually not that many healers on he enemy team to be worth while and it is basic attack triggerd.
never forget dawngate and never forgive EA. Freia will hunt them for eternity.

I am not so sure they need to change Rage and Deathbringer, but I definitely think there is room for more item variety. I like thought about the passive. I don't know about "preventing" crit damage outright, but how about a physical defense item that prevents it a percentage of the time, and when attacked with a crit item the precentage stacks up every time an attack fails to crit. Don't CRITicize me. I'm just brainstorming wid ya.

I have experimented with Golden Bow on Kali with the idea of playing her in solo lane. Bow makes her basics mini AOEs and is also effective in 3 creep buff camps. Just belly up to the boss and cut him up and the other two fall automatically. It works well with her lifesteal, as does the crit chance it gives. The move speed is welcomed, too. I know Bow is looked down upon, but it is valuable early. If you pick up Deathbringer later, you can swap out Bow for Rage, when it becomes less useful later. Bow gives Kali a way to exterminate minion waves fast without using her 3 and burning mana, which she can use for harass and initiation. I'm am not a good enough player to evaluate how effective it is, yet, but all I can say is I like it.

For pretty much everything else, there are alternative options. Lifesteal, protections, power, etc all give room to make alternative builds. Crits? Rage + Deathbringer on 99% of them.

I think the problem with the current crit system is not only the lack of variety, but what we expect. We need the Deathbringer because we need, no, expect crits to deal high damage, and the Deathbringer is the only items that makes crits worth the gold investment. Since pure damage is the only path available, this creates a problem; the lack of room for anything else.

Think of it this way: Crit chance by itself isn't weak*, rather, the Deathbringer is too strong.

*Or rather, shouldn't be weak

Let's say Deathbringer didn't exist/was nerfed to deal less damage. How, then, shall we find ways to make criticals worth it?

What if there were a few items that gave debuffs on a successful crit? How would the game change if we no longer expected crits to deal straight damage, but to slow enemies, or to lower power, or something like that? Criticals would still be useful.

There would be no more funneling into buying the same two items, there would be more room to build and create, and there would be more variety on the game, all of which are good things, correct?[/rant]

Crit is the only thing that makes ADC viable. Though, you should never mix it with any other useful stats (mostly) because it would just make it powerful. Even if deathbeinger is nerfed, i will still build crit because 200% damage is already big enough

Bissey, no just throwing out ideas. I'm not familiar with WoW. I sort of like SubZero's thought about there being more room for creativity in builds. I am sure more items will come in time. No hurry.

I'm pretty sure anyone that plays any physical god will be upset about this.
There is nothing op or broken about it.

What the need is more crit items not mess with the best crit items when they are perfectly fine.

death bringer is W O R T H L E S S with no crit items and it cost alot and only benefits you when you buy rank 3 of it.

Rage is needed for death bringer to not be worthless.

It's not that there needs to be variety, it's that they're simply the best items. It's like Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, and Phantom Dancer in League - it's just simply too good to pass up. Nothing wrong with that, just be unique in your other 4 items.
