Why is reddit so bad?

Reddit is everything that is wrong with Smitefire's voting system, only on a massive scale.

No matter how you would poll any of this stuff you are going to run into the same problems.

First you have the ******s who don't want Geb nerfed, because it's the only god they are good at. So they downvote your "Geb is OP" comment.

Next are your wannabes. These are the guys that hear someone they like and is popular on Youtube or something and just go with it. Whether or not they have any idea what the person is talking about, or have different views on the opinion. They just want to be like them.

Then you have your uneducated people. Who just vote randomly on the subject that they have done no research on. Like 95 percent of the american presidential voting population.

Lastly is that tiny percent of people who have researched the topic. Understand the topic and determined their viewpoint on that topic.

That's why Reddit and any other form of feedback is going to suck...

Actually, Smitefire is a bit better than that. If people had to write a review each time to vote...would that be too extreme?

I think not. Especially if the review had to follow certain guidelines and without those guidelines being met you couldn't vote period. I'm just going to use the guides on here as an example. If you had to write a somewhat educated review just to vote on the guide. You wouldn't have bad guides with 5 bars. Which do exist. You also wouldn't see guides with 12 votes and no comments for feedback. Leaving the author completely clueless on what he needs to fix in order to make people enjoy and benefit from it better.


Also I do agree Smitefire is better. More of the people are fairly active players who take the time to learn their stuff. It definitely isn't a ton of people though either. Which would probably explain things better.

I still laugh at the idea that Hi-Rez shut down their official forums to use the Smite Reddit instead.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
