Okay, this may not sound so important to you since you probably know it, but I've always had problem fighting Bastet when I roll some gods that normally lack a movement. I've been playing arena lately and rolling Freya a lot (since I want to get at least one mage to rank 10), and lately I've been getting good at using my banish skill whenever an enemy lands after they jump. Odin? Let my put you up in the air after you land so you can't ult. Hades? You popped out of the ground, now let me pop you up into the air!

But what about Bastet? Almost every CC is nullified by her leap back. If you use CC on her after she pounces first, you're wasting your ability since her return pounce ignores all CC. Yeah? Well, the only exception to that rule is Freya's banish!

Yep, if I banish Bastet after she jumps, she is literally unable to use the return pounce until the effect ends. Normally this results in her being unable to return before her chance expires, resulting in her imminent death.

This may not sound important to some of you people, but for me, this discovery is the best thing I've found in Smite for a very long time. That said, if I find myself fighting a team with Bastet, prioritizing banish would be the best course of action.

And being able to initiate, do decent damage, go cc immune, and escape all in one ability. That is on a short cooldown isn't?

Wasn't that obvious? It's like saying : If you stun her for 3 seconds she won't be able to jump back.

To be fair, silver, bastet's jump implies it can be used NO MATTER what kind of CC is used, so it's not immediately obvious :P

Freya is a really random thing to try to counter bastet though

I good counter for her ult specifically is hog. If you're really struggling against her, try it.

Am I the only one who thinks that there is somewhat of a lack of counterplay to Bastet? I mean, sure, you can run away from her cats, but her burst without her cats is so powerful regardless, and the damage is nearly unavoidable, and she can do it extremely safely thanks to her jump, which just makes her faster and unable be locked-down. In Arena she is a very powerful bruiser/clean-uper, and in Conquest she's also very safe. Sure, Sprint can help, but I mean, how often do you find yourself juking > combo, and a point blank declaw? You can't really out-damage her, at least not until the very late game, because her burst is in such a short time.
