Finally, I don't think his skills are boring, nor his voice that similar to Hades. To each his own.

I really like Thanatos' voice actually. Hades has a sort of deep growling kinda voice, where Thanatos has a dark and ethereal kinda tone. And I like ethereal-sounding voices.

Yeah, Thanatos has some of the best voice work in the game. Probably my favorite along with Tyr.

The more I have been facing him, the more I feel that he's underpowered. Yet this is mostly due to some horrendous people playing him.

Now, this is more just generality than anything else; people always expect that picking the new god will make them unstoppable, yet all it does is show how unskilled they are.

Literally had a guy who insta picked Thanatos and then at ten minutes he rage quit due to not being able to kill anyone. He kept on saying how the god was so underpowered and weak. I've only got to play him once and I can tell you, he is quite good.

Most of the people refuse to jungle with him; even though they end up cannon fodder in lanes for not knowing the first thing about the god. Then I get blamed for letting them die.

Can't wait for the next new god to come out so I can show people how good Thanatos really is when played well.

Yeah he's amazing, and can absolutely 100-0 a squishy mage, but his ability to close in is...iffy. And in teamfights it's REALLY hard to figure out when to go in. He's like a Loki without vanish, when do you even initiate?

But, if you DO let him get in

He does have an advantage on Loki though, in that he has his 1 and his 3. His 1 can poke at a good distance while his 3 allows him to deal some damage without taking those final two steps into the fight.

Also, his ult. While you'd probably want to save it for the chase, it is also a decent initiator due to increased movement speed, ability to go over walls plus the AOE stun and decent damage. Most of the time he can tear a target to shreds even without the ult so it might be a fairly practical way to get him in. Think of a slower version of Thor's ult. He also, of course, has the speed buff on his 2.

Really, the bigger problem is getting out if things go south.

Thanatos is a jungler who requires NO BUMBAS MASK.

For any of you wanting to jungle with him just get deaths toll instead, boots and 2 health pots.

You will not run out of mana, and you regen enough hp without bumbas mask by killing minions + having deaths toll. Not to mention bumbas mask gives you no real stats where deaths toll makes you stronger.

Also, Thanatos 3 can easily take half of someones HP bar early game.

Trust me, START WITH HIS 3 NOT HIS 1.
You will need the wave clear with it in the jungle to heal up quickly, it also silences, has decent range, is quick, and its easy to hit with. Again can take about half hp early game.

Don't underestimate his 2, his 2 is very good for getting kills. You become super fast when they are on low hp, its ****ing great for chasing down enemies that run from you in the jungle after you almost kill them and don't have your ult or don't want to use it.

Don't underestimate his ULT STUN either. Maybe people have this idea that his ult sucks if you don't insta kil them, that is false. Half of my ult kills come from the stun because you simply rape face with your 3 + 1 + 2 with basic attacks once you ult them and stun them. Not to mention your stun will give allies time to attack as well.

His 2 is great for escaping as well.

HE IS HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD.

If you miss shots you will only hurt your hp and leave yourself defenseless.

If you hit shots you will either gain your hp back or drop hp but in return bringing yourself closer to a kill.

YOU HAVE NO ESCAPE, which is why I bought sprint, combat blink might be a good buy as well.
Along with sprint and his 2 he is fast.

I will always level his 3 out first no matter what, his 1 is not good enough to replace his 3 which is easy damage, easy range, fast animation, silences skills, clears entire waves and gives you hp back from doing so.

His 1 is a skill shot that does good damage if hit and timed right, has no wave clear and its garbage if used as a wave clear. It slows and does damage but thats not a good reason to maxed it before your 3.

In jungles your 3 is maxed first, in lanes your 3 is maxed first.

I don't see why you would want a 1 maxed over your 3, your 3 is the ****.

Fun thought: next patch they'll make Death Scythe pass through targets hitting everything in its path. Suddenly he has two great clears, his 1 is much more reliable as it can't be blocked and Thanatos just became a decent solo laner. Fun times would ensue.

Also, in his victory screen he kills people by pointing at them and going "pew pew". Give him this instead of basics, and let it work on everything.

Who says release Guan was overpowered? This would be the ****.

That would make him too OP then. I prefer the whole high risk, high reward of it all. Thanatos shouldn't have two very powerful lane cleaners.

You take issue with the extra lane clear and not the instant death basics? Okay.

He already clear waves with ease with his 3 I don't see a need for it passing through stuff..

He WOULD be OP then.... why because he could hit multiple gods with his 1 dealing a **** load of damage/slowing them plus the extra %hp damage.

He already clears waves with ease.
Its like ZHONG KUI, you just turn side ways and clear the wave.
