Still, for a game of its size, I guess it's a pretty good tournament. If you want to see a joke, then go look at HoN's Las Vegas Grand Final last year. Now that was cringeworthy.

Yeah, the casters actually are pretty good, but everything else was just so... Ugh. I mean, the MC, oh my god, I cringed so hard listening to him. I mean, yeah, it's hard to actually try and create a lively atmosphere when you're in a gym with no audience, but he could've been a bit more professional, such as not talking in between each announcement into the microphone so you can hear all the small talk.

Also, I laughed too hard when the MC kinda trolled himself when reading out one of the player's names.

I didn't watch the tournament live, but I saw some VODs. Quite surprised with the high amounts of Aphrodites in the games. Also dat cosplay contest.

I wish I could be there, to get a Guan Yu skin. ):

WHAT?!?! YOU TRAITOR!
You really missed something though :(
Dignitas really owned one game with a ra and aphro. I think it was against COG, not sure though.

Forced an Aphrodite ban, pretty interesting. Would never have expected that.

I was there, I posted my comments on reddit but I can post some here.

Being my first tournament, I thought it was well done. Yeah, some things started late/early but meh.

My favorite play was Zapmap taking out the Titan while COG screwed around at the FG. I also was quite happy to see COG lose because I don't like Omega's attitude in public queue games and I get sick pleasure outta watching people with bad attitudes get their butts kicked.

It was a bit DiG lost. I did feel they kinda threw it at the end. Quite a few, "why did they do that" moments.

The cosplay was awesome. I loved the Athena. Mercs costume was awesome as well. My friend was the Cyberpunk NeZha. He said the Apollo was a ****head and made one of the cosplayers quit rather than go out on stage by telling him his costume had no chance.

As everyone knows, they kinda botched the Guan Yu skins. I went for lunch and got a text from my friend that they were giving them out. Thankfully I got back in time. But they just kinda had a line and the 'honor system' that people wouldn't take more than one. I am fairly honest so I only went in line once.

But after the final match, a friend who didn't get one saw them handing out huge stacks of the skins to the players and asked if he could get one. He was told that if there was enough after the players got some...he never got one. (Which they of course fixed by emailing all ticket holders a single skin...even though in my case I bought several ticket for myself and friends...only one guan skin).

At the start of the event, you showed your ticket, you got a card. You turned the card in and got a bag of goodies. Why wasn't the guan skin in this bag? Then everyone woulda got one. It confused me.

Also, if the skin is suppose to represent those who attended the event then why give huge stacks to the players? Obviously its so they can give em out on stream to people. I guess it helps create hype for their streams and promote the game?

I do have an extra skin now but I don't plan to give it out or sell it anytime soon. Just not sure what a fair way would be and I wanna let some of the dust settle first. I also needa make sure my friend actually got one. Though if anyone has the old Artemis convention skin id be up for a swap though ill want to confirm that skin first.

Also, back on the tourney, Hirez and the pros and casters were awesome. They didn't have any problem signing posters, hats, etc. They took pictures, talked with people.

My only rant is that they didn't have a wall set up to list the brackets and track the wins and losses. I could track it online but I was often confused as to who was playing on what stage and when. So I actually never even saw Denial play...they were never in the main theater.
