I gotta say I have seen all the free to play schemes to make money unscrupulously. But this one takes the cake. I mean to sell a pack that will make a female character have a female voice or any character have their own distinctive voice, goes well beyond absurd. Hungry for money or not, this is going too far for any game. Correct audio files for characters should be an update, not a buy in. I mean, what next? Making the game in gray scale and selling a color upgrade pack, one class at a time?

Now in addition to that, selling something that isn't even completed is even more desperate. I mean for laughs I bought the one for Hel and one other, and they are only like 1/3 (if that) completed. Nearly all the quotes remain game default except a small handful like the taunts and a few others. Look, if you are going to nickel and dime us on every expected game "luxury" than please have the self respect and the respect for us as your supporters to sell a completed product. I've seen more complete voice packs made for games offered free on Gamebanana. So if you want to charge, just saying, please make it worth paying for.

It is a free to play game, you dont have to buy it. I mean if people wont buy this ****, you couldnt enjoy this game. Furthermore i like the voicepacks, hiring Voiceactor isnt sheap at all so tell me how they should pay them without getting money from players they are buying it ?

They are just 1/3 completed more like 2/3 because of the current vgs changes. Actually there are some bad voicepacks and some good.

You're kidding, right?

Voice packs do nothing to affect gameplay, other than having a different voice for call outs. It's just like skins. They're just cosmetics. The only types of things I have problems with in free-to-play games that you buy with real money are items that can affect gameplay. For example, if Hi-Rez introduced items that would give gods an extra stat boost, then I'd have a problem. But voice pack are nothing but something fun to have.

And the reason why many voice pack are incomplete is because just a few weeks ago, they added in new voice commands, and they haven't been updated yet. Hopefully, they'll be able to get all the voice packs updated with the new ones, but it will take some time. Also, I can guarantee that the voice packs are more than 1/3 done, especially considering I also have the Hel voice pack.

You should complain to Valve then. I mean, if you're gonna complain about paying for something that has no effect on the game, you should criticize headwear that only make your characters stand out from the rest.

As for the concept in itself, how else is the company supposed to stay in business? They give you the entire game for free, after all. Just like skins, voice packs have no effect on gameplay - the default voice pack says every command perfectly audibly, the only difference being the voice itself. If you don't want them, don't buy them. What, exactly, makes optional transactions nefarious schemes? There is absolutely nothing in the store that gives you an advantage in the game, so I'd say Hi-Rez is doing a damn good job of keeping the game from a pay-to-win experience.

As for the incomplete voice packs, Hi-Rez recently released a new slew of VGS commands, so it's understandable that the voice packs that were released back in May up to some of the more recent ones don't yet have the new voices recorded. I, personally, am glad they went ahead and released the new commands instead of waiting for an available schedule with every single previous voice actor. They've stated that the old ones will be updated in due time, and I'm perfectly fine with using the previously unavailable voice commands in the default voice until then.

Nearly all are incomplete. And Voices on characters, seriously? You really want a new wave of games subscribing to this, charge for the standards type stuff? Wow. I get you supporting them and in such, sacrificing some of your own concepts of value, but this is not a trend that anyone really wants to see become a standard. And I never played a free or not free to play game with incomplete voice files to the extent of this game, and they are the ones charging for them? If they are going to charge, they had better make sure they are at least worth paying for. I sure did not get what I expected when I paid. Maybe before trying to make everything they missed and take time listing them for sale, they could take that time to address some of the other game related issues, such as 2 years ans yet the feet still clip into the ground on most walking classes. Come on, this is elementary stuff, I'm sorry.

It's a forum, and I thought, but was wrong, that this was a beta release because they cared to hear people's input. Voice commands should not have even been introduced into the game had they not had the capabilities or the financial resources without taking advance voice actor payments from us at the time they had the idea. Just saying that to have a fully functional game as most release, free or not, we should not have to pay for every investment they make one at a time. Paying for all the classes and the skins and yet that doesn't entitle me to women without men's voices. Just saying, not unplayable without, but like in games like TF2, you can tell by ear who is saying a statement by the voice and identify what teammate is saying what without having to look at a chat window to tell. It is part of the standard strategic game play. Though I will say most of the voices in this game, do sound like the same actors not trying too hard to sound different, but I could be mistaken. Game does have some promise, but ideas like this just gives me a sense about what kind of game they want it to be and where the focus will actually be. :(

Very generic comment here, but does the concept of beta mean anything to you? You got access to a free game that is incomplete which has bugs and missing features in it which will be added down the road. Missing voices and feet clipping will eventually get fixed, but voices will have a higher priority just because people paid for them.

I think they had a system to charge for cosmetic items, that was not unheard of, but if you can sit there with a straight face and say this is expected on a free game, you may not have played enough free to play games to see this is far from an item that would qualify in 90% of the games as a pay upgrade. I can't think of one game as a matter of fact that tried to charge for such a trivial thing. Not the money, nor that it it absolutely necessary. Just not something any game should have ever thought to start charging for. I sure hope other game makers don;t jump on this bad example bandwagon.

Not generic at all. Funny I am attacked for this opinion. Most beta games have items missing, thing is they usually don;t charge for the missing items individually BEFORE they are completed with the false impression that they are getting something worth paying for. But I guess my expectation was my own, they promised only a voice pack, not a good one, a one that represented a good value nor a complete one. So my bad,.
