So I was watching some tournament VODs and I was wondering what happened to Nemesis. She used to be top pick but now I never see her anymore. Is it cuz Retribution was nerfed?

Nah, she's still a good pick. I think the nerf should have been stronger, she is strill ripping games. People may not always pick her because osiris is out etc. In my games Nemesis is still a famous pick.

I'm really not sure, perhaps its the nerfs, it used to be in every joust game there would be a Nemesis, then there came Bastet. Perhaps its just a domino effect, more people play one god, more people see them doing that, then decide to do it.

Nemsis is fine. She is still one of the best Warriors Assassins in the game. One of her strengths is that her damaging skills, Slice and Dice & divine judgment are unavoidable (the former is could be dodged, but it's ridiculously hard to miss). She beings lots of control with her slows, insane safety (safe to say that her kit is the second most safe regardless of build. Sun Wukong is first. A double dash, 2 massive slows and a near- Stone Shield ability.) But she is not overpowered as she used to be. The top tier Assassins right now are Bastet, Hun Batz and Nemesis I believe, also in that order. I consider Tyr a Warrior/Bruiser and not an Assassin.

All I can think of is that it is because of the nerf to her (as you said) Retribution so she is not impossible to kill anymore. And the nerf to Qin's Sais together with sprint/ Heavenly Agility still being picked up a lot. Picks like Thor, Tyr, Hun Batz, Freya, Thanatos just makes for better team comps.

She is still a beast in solo queue though and she is far from bad in 5v5s, she is more of a god that depends on what the enemy team picks.

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat.
