In terms of best god to go mid with.

Vamana is probably the top then agni hel he bo

Physical gods had the chance but post patch mages got that mid lane back for the most part.
Dont get me wrong you can still take Kali mid and pubstomp but in team high level play it doesnt work as well.

He bo is an absolutely monster if played correctly - I haven't taken the time to learn him yet but have seen him dominate in jaw dropping fashion.

Vamana is just to beastly. A lot of times at high end game play the team will pick different gods / change their entire strategy if they know one of the enemy players is really good with Vamana mid.

I usually play Ao on mid, but it can get very tough agains certain gods. I usually have a very hard time against Hel, Anubis or Hades. It all depends on the player skill though.

I need to practice more with Agni, I love him but I suck so hard it isn't even funny.

I always see people saying He Bo is great or He Bo is OP, yet every game I get in with a He Bo I witness him completely fail and feed. At best I've seen him scrape by with only a few kills and several deaths without contributing anything material in assists. He seems so bad to me that I've gone as far as to call him a cursed God in SMITE.

If you could prove me wrong about that, I'd love to play a game with you. My in-game name is SmellyHarry. But I won't believe any of you until I see it.

Anyway......
Hel seems like one of the best mid laners with her huge sustain and strong nuking capabilities. She just needs to be played well or she can get shut down fairly easily via ganks.

Let me repeat that: All gods are equally good. Almost everything depends on the player.

That's why this game (and these games) are so good. Not every god is as good at doing one thing or another, each has their own role or style. If you learn how to play a god well they can be very effective.

Case and point: A lot of times when I choose Loki at character select other players on my team will ask me to play a "real" phys carry as opposed to one that "tries to be a carry." Or I am told that Loki is utter trash, and they can't wait to see my garbage play.

I usually try to fill whatever role is needed in a team, but whenever I hear stuff like this I always lock in Loki just to show them. Loki is an amazing god, but he is very squishy. He is good for singling out an enemy god, stealthing in and obliterating them, then getting out again. In a group scenario he will massacre everything from carries and support gods to big hulking tanks as long as he is not focused. If Loki is focused he's dead in seconds unless the player knows *exactly* what they are doing, builds him appropriately, and is able to execute well.

He bo is the same. As I have said above, I have not taken the time to learn He Bo, or I'd get in a game and show you. In general it is harder to play squishier characters, so most people assume that because they consistently see gods with 3/13/2, 1/9/5, 0/11/3 type scores they are bad.

It is just the player that is bad. There are other things that come into play like match ups; certainly not all gods are as good versus some gods than others, but that is where tactics and strategy come into play.

Also, tanks are usually much more forgiving, so you'll see less hating on them. Plus they aren't expected to secure as many kills, so as long as they hang around for assists it is assumed that they are doing their job (we've all seen the 1/9/2 Ymirs in a long fight, that is an utter fail).

In closing, a great He Bo will knock you f'n socks off, as will any god played expertly.

Just the same with the any other god. However some gods can recover from a poor start and some have great trouble doing so. Pretty much what I said above.

I honestly stopped reading when you said all gods are balanced.
This just is not true. Specially in MOBAs where there are tiers of champions, gods or heros.

He bo is top tier because of silly high ratios coupled with amazing CC and super quick CDs.
Compared to say Loki, who is just a garbage god because he gets killed instantly.

I am not speaking for ALL MOBAS, but in general, yes, most heroes / gods / etc. are roughly balanced well enough that it all comes down to player skill.

I usually respect what you say, but in this case I wish there was a way to give you negative rep for your ignorance.

You opinion is noted, its wrong, but noted.

Ask ANY person that is streaming Smite if they would take Loki into competitive play. Every single one will say no because his defense is terrible.

The most solid MOBA is LoL and they even have the tier lists listed as to who and what is better.
It is just a simple fact that some gods out class other gods.

Would you rather have an ares or a Ymir tank?
If you say Ymir congratz you are right. Now why is that? You are right, Ares kit is no longer viable in a game. He is 50% slowed during his ult, that is easily and usually fully countered. They just kill him before the ult goes off now. His 2 got nerfed into the ground and is no longer a viable skill to use when you can just get an item instead now. A whole 4 more protection doesnt even stop 1 point of damage.

Ymir out classes him because of better CC, an amazing auto attack, a team/lane wide disrupting ult that cant be stopped since he just freezes you in place first.

You yourself have said it numerous times, you are new to Smite and this only makes it clear. Gods are not balanced, they never will be. They can try the best to, but as gods come out they will out class one another, suddenly one god who was bad is now good because that new god that was just put into the game works with the bad one and now they can do some really neat things, and in doing so makes this old great god a bad choice now.

Anyone that has been playing MOBAs for longer than 6 months understands this is just how this works. Go on ahead and flame and get all angry, doesnt effect me in the slightest, but your opinion is incorrect tho you are allowed to have it.
