What if it did the 8 damage but scaled off of level? Like 8 damage per second + (2 x Current Level) or something like that.

Yeah, that would work too!

Gotta agree that 40% is a tad extreme, and even scaling it down becomes ridiculous.

Etc. A simple auto attack is way too easy to land to do, effectively, 140% damage consistently. This is basically giving you 40% more damage, as in 140% per basic attack. And it scales even better on people who don't hybridize attack speed and attack damage - you go full damage, hit ANY of your shots, and rot someone. It's unique, I'll give it that, but it's broken.

Did you even read the item? It says BASIC ATTACKS and it doesn't stack. -,-

And then I ask, did you read what he said above? He said that he can lower it if it is too extreme.

Arachne's is lower for good reason. She gets it free at the start of the game.

Anyway, a suggestion for the item. I think either 30% of BONUS physical power or simply make it a flat amount of damage that doesn't scale could also work (bumping up the base damage, of course)

I made the damage scale lower but i think flat damage would be too strong or too bad. If it has example 20 physical damage over 5 second its WAY too overpowered in EARLY game! And if it had 10 physical damage flat it would be useless in late game. So it has to have scaling ratio! :)

And you're assuming that this item is cheap enough to be gotten in early game?

OBJECTION!

How does the author's statement affect the validity of my original answer, or the invalidity of yours? The idea, as originally presented, was 8 + (40% of physical power) x 5. I think most of us can agree that is a tad extreme! TAKE THAT!

On a less ridiculous note, I still think that this item is a terrible idea, because as Raventhor says, its a simple multiplication of damage. Also, keep in mind that this becomes absurdly powerful when forgoing all other physical attack modifiers for pure power.

Not cheap (neither expensive), but i would still rush it on Arachne or Loki.

All of the skills I listed are basic attack modifiers. Aimed Strike is a basic attack enhancer. Made You Look applies on-hit affects. Yes I read it, and not stacking doesn't matter, it's still way too simple to rot a team with one auto attack, or in Mercury's case, one ability.

If this were to be put in the game, how would it work with critical hits?

...I think even the inventor of this item would realize that this passive + Deathbringer is a really, really bad idea.

Yeah, even if the passive is applied afterwards, it's still a 280% damage crit.
