Hi everyone.
It's me here and I have a fun build for you to try (not a meme build)
Please note that this isn't a guide on how to build supports in Smite and it isn't the normal, traditional build. There are plenty of other guides around that offer info on that. This one is just an idea, one I tested out and enjoyed using.
I have Kuzenbo at mastery X at the moment so I like to think i have an ok idea of how to play and build him, but I wanted to find something out - Can we have a whopping 4,000 HP without sacrificing what we need to stay viable in the support role?
Well it turns out we can :-)
We're going to build a truck-load of health (with enough protections, don't worry) to make it very hard for others to take you down.
Every item after the boots gives us health and we'll be able to walk around the place relatively hassle-free.
Take a look at the builds above and some reasoning and basic numbers below :-)
*You can probably use this whole thing in other modes but I only play Conquest nowadays so my thinking was around that.
Build no.1
I'm no mathematical guy but i can tell you (please correct me if I'm wrong) that this build, once you sell the blessing and get your final item, you should have 180 Physical and 155 Magical protections and a whopping 3,950 HP
This means that with your Nene Kappa gaining 20% of your HP and protections, a late game mini turtle guy will be heading into a fight with 790 HP and 36 & 30 protections respectively.
Build no.2
I'm still no maths genius but I can tell you with a fair bit of confidence that this build, when fully completed and Warlock's Staff is stacked up, you'll have the same 155 and 125 protections as above, but your HP will instead be an eye-watering 4,150!
Nene Kappa will be armed with 830 HP and those 30 & 25 protections.
*If you want these numbers and want to still be viable in Conquest as the support, just stick to the items and if conditions allow, build in the same order.
If you want to change things, that's cool, but it won't be the same ;-)*
I won't go into all the items in detail, but I do want to say a little more on some than others.
Firstly, the main difference you'll have spotted in the two builds:
Warlock's Staff
Warlock's is purely up to you. We are getting 200 more HP but with 3,950 in build 1 anyway, 200 isn't exactly going to be a huge deal (though it is nice to see over 4k HP on the results screen)
You'll have noticed we don't have a lot of damage built up on build 1 so with build 2, Warock's Staff offers the setup a snazzy 190 magical damage. That's nice for what is supposed to be a guardian...but you have to stack it. That's your decision - stack Warlock's and get the power or don't bother yourself with the grind and lose out on the hurts (either way, you're still going 4k HP and you're front-lining like a boss)
Next, the boots:
Shoes of Focus
The only item we're choosing that doesn't grant us a chunk of health. That's OK.
You can change these out for any of the other boots if you like; you'll still get the HP later.
I choose the blue shoes simply for the early mana and the CDR, which I really want for my abilities. My other reason is because with all the HP we'll have later on, we'll be equipped to stay out in the map a lot longer than usual, so why would we spoil that and go back to the fountain for mana? Oh and we don't have a lot of damage in build 1 so the 55 we get from the blue shoes give us, well, 55.
Hide of the Urchin
You don't see this much any more due to the passives being better on the alternatives Magis's Cloak, Spirit Robe and Mantle of Discord
I like it for this build though. I want the protections for my early game in the solo lane, the health spike to start the numbers going up and the mana to keep us in lane.
I therefore ignore the alternatives at this stage; they can go in other builds or Magi's might make an appearance in this one later on.
The other core items in both builds are:
Gauntlet of Thebes for the health and protections, yes, but we are still a support and we want our teammates to not die easily when under our watch.
Stone of Gaia just becaue of the massive health and the HP and mana regen boosts.
You can afford to get both of these a little later in your builds because with the 2 or 3 items we get earlier will usually be enough to cover what you need.
Then the items we can choose from for item 6 (all give 300 HP):
Relic Dagger because we like having Shield of Thorns available more often and the extra movement speed is welcome.
Winged Blade for when you're being hit with slowing abilities
*If you'#re buying both of the above, consider that you'll now have more movement speed than you need so you might want to trade your boots out for a more tanky item.
Magi's Cloak is chosen if there's a CC-heavy enemy team or someone likes grabbing or stunning you. It'll give some extra protections too. You'd usually grab Mantle of Discord or Spirit Robe in other builds but they have no health and therefore don't support this whole 4k HP idea. But grab them if you need them, no point losing a game just to stubbornly stick to this build ;-)
Talisman of Energy is the magical defense item to choose because it has the 300 HP but you can swap out for the lesser health of Pestilence or Heartward Amulet if you like; they both offer decent HP too.
Talisman has a nifty passive itself too, helping nearby allies move, basic attack and regen mana more quickly when getting team kills.
Midgardian Mail slows down enemies that auto attack you. This can help allies too - you want to be hit before your teammates and create a slower moving and hitting target for them.
Mystical Mail The passive provides a small amount of hurt when using Sumo Slam and Watery Grave but not much else. The protections aren't as high as other physical defence items but we do get the big health boost. The price is high though, so consider another item before choosing this.
You can put Sovereignty in instead if you'd rather your aura was directly helpful to your buddies, but you will miss out on a tiny bit of health (though not enough to make a big difference)
*If you really don't need the extra 300HP from one of those final options and you'd benefit from 60 phys and magical protections, you can grab Mantle of DiscordIt's a great last item but you won't have anywhere near the 4,000 we're going for here - but hey, situational and all that ;-)
edit - Hide of the Nemean Lion is another situational one you'll lose health on but might need in certain games.
What is good?
4,000 HP and plenty of HP5
We don't lose out on too many protections and can always add at the end if needed
If you choose to stack Warlock's, you can have plenty of damage
If you go with the blue shoes and work Relic Dagger into the build, you'll get 20% CDR, which is more than enough for Kuzenbo when you remember taking damage with Shell Spikesactive offers cooldown for your other abilities
#tanklyf
And what's not so good?
Without Warlock's Staff, you won't have a lot of damage but hey, this isn't a damage build :-)
Warlock's Staff has to be built to get the damage
No Void Stone, which is a popular choice on Kuz'
Thanks for checking this out. If I've got any info wrong, please let me know, I always appreciate the comments.
If you have build change ideas, that's cool, but please understand this is intended to get the maximum HP whilst still getting protections and being useful in Conquest.
*If you like this idea and want a 4k support on your team, why not add me on Xbox? OP7wist3rL0lly

Plus , I guess is better you rush Gauntlet of Thebes first than Hide of the Urchin, and Also I don't see with these reclics you needing Relic Dagger. I mean, Shield of Thorns may be useful on Kuzenbo, but do you really need has this on your build, wasting an item slot? I don't think so.
I see what you mean about Warlock's Staff and those items your enemy can build to get through your HP, but I have to say a couple of things in return:
1) This is a build to get as much health as possible whilst still keeping protections. With A fully built Hide of the Urchin and Gauntlet of Thebes, and this is before we might choose Magi's Cloak or one of the Physical or magical items, which also have protections, we have over 200 of each and the enemy has to get through that too.
I don't want to be argumentative at all, but there are so many items and counter items etc that we can pretty much never build a setup that can't be countered in some (even tiny) way. Oh and there's an alternative setup for those who don't want Warlock's. It's right next to the one with Warlock's in it.
and 2) Relic Dagger isn't just for Shield of Thorns. It's extremely useful for Kuzenbo as (IMO) he should always have Thorns as his second item. Late game, as a support , why wouldn't you want access to your first relic more often too? Meditation Cloak and Magic Shell are life-savers. Getting Relic Dagger also gives you more movement to get around more easily and a welcome 10% CDR. I stick by my choice, though maybe it could go in a little later if you preferred. Plus, there are alternative items listed so you don't have to grab it anyway.
And I did explain why I choose Hide of the Urchin before Gauntlet of Thebes. In pretty much all other support builds for all other support gods (and I'm a support main) I would get the Gauntlet either first or second, but not in this one - but you could do it your way and it'd still be a good setup ;-)
Thanks again for comments, always welcome. GG
Your job as support is to, well, support your teammates and you do that by providing them with helpful auras like Sov, void, and emps, while making yourself as hard to kill as possible, which is where the mix of both health AND protections come in. Sure your build has protections, but not nearly enough if you're being focused. With the right mix, I can solo 2-3 enemies long enough to either extract myself from that fight or for my teammates to come in and help. If I just built health, it'd be a different story. All of the protection items I listed above also have health except for Spirit Robe, but that has damage mitigation, which is better than having extra health because mitigation reduces the amount of damage you receive after protections.
I have to say that the build you suggest as an alternative for a support such as Kuz is the one many people use, the popular one and for good reason - and the one I normally use.
That's now why I posted this build though - I am offering a different idea from the usual support setup.
I've tried to come up with one that gives us the protections you've mentioned and tbh, we do actually get them. The issue you have is that we aren't offering many auras out, which I also mention (we can put them in if we like and still have decent HP)
This is a 4,000 HP build, not a traditional support one; there are already builds for that.
Have a quick spy of this - http://smite.guru/match/xb/182795319
Played only yesterday and the only change I made from my 4k HP idea was to buy Hide of the Nemean Lion because I really needed it.
Otherwise the setup was tested out and if you were to ask any of my teammates, I provided more than enough support. I was in the field as often as anyone, I was always there in teamfights, starting or finishing them, I didn't steal any waves (I didn't buy Warlock's Staff) and I was a constant presence in support of my team and to the annoyance of theirs.
I totally understand your point on Warlock's Staff and what you say about stacking/stealing minions but sometimes you will be taking camps and minion waves with your allies or alone. If you don't like the idea of Warlock's, don't buy it, but I appreciate you sharing your feedback on it so others reading this will have more info to make their decision.
I like Hide of the Urchin and it works, as long as you get it early.
I also like Stone of Gaia. It may be **** in other builds but when the aim is to get 4,000 hp and stay out of the fountain and in the map as often as we can, it's kind of a staple to this build with it's HP5 and MP5 being the cherry on the cake.
Meditation Cloak - this is just one option for first relic. I would also go with Magic Shell because it's just better in most situations as a guardian.
I appreciate you advising that our job as a support is to support and all the info on the items you've mentioned, but please remember this isn't a 'How to play support role' guide. I have a fair idea how a support should be played - https://www.smitefire.com/smite/guide/you-rock-full-build-and-guide-for-conquest-20739
The reasoning behind the health and protections and mitigation stuff is sound, but another thing you might not have spotted is that I do say at least twice that we get plenty of protections as well as the health. I aimed to build huge HP whilst still being viable.
Almost every item I suggested provides protections. With even just the first few being Boots, Gauntlet and Hide, we get enough to go into mid and late game, but then the options for the last item can give whatever protection(s) you're lacking. And as you see in that game I linked above, situations will not always allow the build to follow the script exactly.
I do however agree with you on Mystical Mail. I'll leave it in for now as it can have benefits but only as an option. I myself would probably rather buy Midgardian, Emperor's or Nemean.
:-)
Maths: 0.03% of your max health every second at 4k health is equivalent to 60 HP5, on top of the 25 it also provides, the 15 Thebes provides, and his inherent 25 at level 20. That's 125 HP5...which is incredible as long as Gaia's passive is considered separate from the standard HP5 stat, which has a cap of 100. Someone (not me, I'm on vacation haha) should check this.
But, of course, my build preference here would be more in line with Gulf's, though not fully. Again, I understand the thought process for high health, and I can appreciate thinking outside the box a bit, but I just don't think it's optimal.
Sorry to have such a long list of things that are technically criticisms of the build...but wanted to address the many points. If you like your build and get good effect, more power to you.
If I were to adapt this to a god that I think might do much better with high health overall, it would probably be Hercules. I would probably incorporate Shield of Regrowth into it, make sure I got at least 30% CDR, and just spam abilities and stay in peoples' faces. But for Kuzen, I think he does better with some pen and more true Support functions when playing him in that role (Since he's typically played more in Solo).
