Hey guys it is flyrom99 here. I have been lurking, critiquing guides, making signatures, but I haven't made a guide yet so here I go. Today I am making a guide for Loki, The Trickster God.
I play Loki as intended, an assassin. You do not want to engage the whole entire team by yourself, but instead wait for an opportunity to go in once everyone is low and assassinate them. Loki is meant to be played this way because he has a very low base hp and will have a low total hp throughout the game unless you choose to build him tanky. Loki has a great amount of potential, but it is not easily utilized.
Pros
Can easily escape and sneak up on enemies with Vanish
High damage output with the Vanish and Aimed Strike combo
Highest base movement speed in the entire game
Has a stealth move
High base attack power
Cons
Very Squishy
If he falls behind, it is very hard to regain power in the game compared to other gods in the game
I do a semi standard, but then I use 2 items that most people won't think to buy on Loki.
/
I usually start out with Warrior Tabi and Girdle of Might or Aegis Amulet . When deciding which ability I should buy I first look at the enemy gods. If they have a Ares, Hades, or other strong aoe ultimate, then you most likely want Aegis Amulet. If they have a weak team composition then it would be safe to get Girdle of Might. When getting these items at the start of the game, wait a few seconds after you start getting gold automatically and then buy it because the price was increased to 700 gold from 500.
I get Heartseeker as my second item in my item build. I choose to get this item most of the time because it provides 10% movement speed and damage. Additional damage can be obtained by killing enemy gods or killing minions. If you happen to get fed in the game and you get maximum stacks, you will have an additional 85 attack power which will provide significant damage boost. The movement speed will be an important perk throughout the match because it will help you secure kills and you will be able to escape many enemies throughout the match.
I purchase The Executioner as my third item for many reasons. It provides 20% attack speed and other items later in the build will provide more attack speed with other benefits as well. So overall it is better than the commonly bought Fatalis. The Executioner also provides a buff for each attack you make, it lowers the physical protection of that target by 20 and stack up to 3 times. This is very good because along with the attack damage it provides you will be doing a lot more damage because they have less protection.
I buy each of these items mostly for the three reasons. Attack speed, life steal, and critical chance. They provide together 30% lifesteal which is really good towards the middle game because if you are low on health you can attack the minions 3 times and you should have gained a significant amount of health through the life steal. The attack speed from Ankh of the Golem is also a really good additional perk to have because once you use [[Aimed Strike] then it will allow you to assassinate your target much faster. When you attack your target then receive a -25% regen debuff and it stack up to 3 times. All of these things make great assets to your kits.
I get this item mainly for the critical chance, critical damage, and attack power. It provides a very large buff in each of the fields. It provides a whopping 50 damage, +20% critical chance, and +50% critical damage. These are all very high amounts and that is why Deathbringer is such a strong item.
This item is very good at times, but there can be better items in certain situations. It provides a base physical power of 30 and 45% physical penetration. The damage is a nice perk because more damage means more kills. The penetration is really good because if there is someone on the enemy team with a lot of physical protection, it will allow for you to rip through them.
Loki has a unique skill set, because of how his skills work together so well and how similar they are to each other.
Loki deals 20% more damage from his basic attacks when hitting enemies from behind.
This can be very useful because if you are chasing someone and use the Vanish and Aimed Strike combo and attack from behind, then you can cause a massive amount of damage on your enemy. You do not have to be chasing, if you just see some chilling out, then you can wrap around them in stealth and attack from behind with Vanish and Aimed Strike for a lot of damage as well.
Loki disappears in a puff of smoke for 3s. While invisible, he is immune to slows and moves 50% faster than normal. His next basic attack from invisibility (or for 2s after) applies a bleed to his target, dealing 30/45/60/75/90 (+25% of your physical power) physical damage every .5s for 2s and reveals Loki. Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.
Cooldown: 15 s.
This is a stealth ability. It is the most important skill in his repertoire that contributes to his success. You can use this skill to surprise a person that is alone off to the side or to escape a pursuer. This is very good in combination with his Aimed Strike which I will explain later.
Decoy
Loki spawns a decoy version of himself that taunts all nearby enemy minions. After 3s, the decoy explodes dealing 90 / 155 / 220 / 285 / 350 (+80% of your physical power) physical damage to all enemies in the radius
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana.
Cooldown: 14s.
This is the weakest skill in his skill set, but it can still be useful at times. It can be useful to stop minions from getting in to your portal at the last second which may cause your team to win by one ticket. No enemy god can use a skill in the aoe, so you can stop from some jumping away in the aoe, though it is a very small circle. A level 5 it can do a lot of damage to the minions, but is not that useful in the later stage of the game.
Aimed Strike
Upon activation, Lokis next basic attack does an additional 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+80% of your physical power) physical damage within 5 seconds. The enemy hit is also slowed by 25% for 3 seconds.
Cost: 50 mana.
Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 s.
This is my favorite skill in the skill set of Loki. In combination with Vanish the first attack out of stealth with Aimed Strike activated may be able to do more than half of a squishy gods health. This is also very good for quickly assassinating gods with a little hp left. This is a very high damaging skill.
Upon activation, Loki teleports to his ground target location. If an enemy god is within the radius, Loki will backstab that target doing 250 / 325 / 400 / 475 / 550 (140% of your physical power) physical damage and be stunned for 1s.
Cost: 100 mana.
Cooldown: 90 s.
This ability is very strong, but can also save your life. You can use it to pick off a single enemy, because of the stun. It also does a high base damage. If the enemy tries to jump on you because you are out of position or you are just low on health, you can teleport out of there and return to base so you can heal up.
Loki is the assassin role so he is not going to be engaging unless there is only 2 or 3 people and they are below half health. You should wait for your team to engage and then once you see the opportunity to either use the Vanish and Aimed Strike combo or using Assassinate to kill someone. If your team is not the engaging type, then you can always try to pick off single enemies. If someone tries to kill a buff alone, pounce on the opportunity and use Assassinate if it is up and/or the Vanish and Aimed Strike Combo.
Loki in arena is very good with the attack damage buff because it increases his attack power by a large 50%. He can also be useful with the regeneration buff because if he goes low he can regenerate health faster or if he is in a one on one fight then the extra health that is regenerated in the fight may allow him to come out on the victorious side. A shield buff can come in handy on Loki as well. If you go in a 1v1 the extra protection may help you kill the enemy or if enemies are trying to poke you, the extra protection may help you stay alive.
Loki is a great assassin, but however he cannot engage. You should try to get attack buff as often as possible and shield buff whenever you see it is up. You should be buying damage items and attack speed/ life steal items. Loki is very squishy so you should play cautious if a team is coming towards you or a strong single enemy. Loki is a strong hero, but must be played efficiently.

This EVEN MORE SO applies to Arena, where you barely will get fed and as well have a much higher overall lethality.
