So you're here to play odin, AREN'T YOU? Well you have to learn some basics first and you came to the right place.
Just read some **** I write and I guarantee you will win... or lose, I don't care.
I will have some pics up of my wins with Odin pretty soon.
Okay. Odin has some really good damaging abilities which allows him to be a good tank HOWEVER this can also mean that he can play as an Attack Damage god. Still a tank role, but deal damage.
Let's start with this in order
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Birds of wisdom
Key Bind: Passive
Odin's ravens scout an increased radius around himself, doubling his minimap vision radius and gaining visibility of enemies within that radius.
My Thoughts: Extra minimap vision is better then wards early game. THIS REQUIRES YOU TO LOOK AT YOUR MAP, SO LOOK AT IT.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Lunge
Key Bind: 1
Odin Lunges to his target location, doing 140 / 180 / 220 / 260 / 300 (+40% of your physical power) physical to all nearby enemies.
Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.
Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.
My thoughts: OP at the start, only put 1 point into it after Gungnir's Might
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Odin's Shout
Key Bind: 2
Odin gives a commanding roar, rallying his allies. Odin and his allies gain an attack speed buff of 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55% for 7 s.
Cost 60 mana.
Cooldown: 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 s.
My thoughts: Very good early game pushing with another dps and to be honest, I reckon you should lane with Bacchus because he does around 50-60 dmg at the start, being

Gungnir's Might
Key Bind: 3
This power, while used passively, provides 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 protection from physical attacks and 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 HP5. Upon activation of this power, he does a speeding melee attack that does 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+100% of your physical power) physical damage and slows all enemies around him by 30% for 2 seconds, but he loses the passive bonus while on cooldown.
Cost: 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 mana.
Cooldown 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 s.
My Thoughts: Yeah, very good ability so I max it first. Why? 25 HP5 and 60 Physical protection, why not? It's better to use it for an early kill because you still get the passive with skill on cool down.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Ring of Spears
Key Bind: 4
Odin summons a wall of spears, blocking all normal movement. Odin gains +60 protection, +35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 physical power and immunity to stun/fear/silence/root while inside the ring. Pressing the button again will bring down the ring.
Cost: 100 mana.
Cooldown: 75 s.
My Thoughts: Noice. I love using this on 3-4 people and end up hitting in the 300's on average, just imagine the crits.. Try not to use this on people who can jump out or on someone who's on CD.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Warrior Tabi: This item is best for Odin because it gives you physical penetration, attack speed and critical-hit chance.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Devourer's gloves: Best item for any dps carry because it gives you 30 physical power (+40 stacks of .5 physical power) and lifesteal which pretty much gives you infinite sustainability in a solo lane.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The Executioner: Penetration that you need to do a bit more to tanks. I would pick this over Titan's Bane because it gives you +20 attack speed as well, which is what Odin needs.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Stone of Gaia: Mixes well with Odin's HP5. I would get this if there's a heavy magical team with no escape abilities because you can take all the hits from them. HP5 and lifesteal mixes well together, so i'd usually get Brawler's Beat Stick if there's a Ra.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Qin's Blades: Used to be good but the nerf made it eh... Still good to take down tanks, especially Ymir with a ****load of health.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Rage: I'd get this early along with Deathbringer but the prices go through the screen, so get this later through the game when you can basically 1 hit minions.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Deathbringer: is a death scythe. No need for Titan's Bane when crits do around 300-400 on tanks.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Bulwark of Hope: This item is still good, just give it a chance. Sure it was nerfed like Hel but it gives you 450 health, so why NOT?
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Hide of the Nemean Lion: I like this item mixed with Brawler's Beat Stick because it tends to be useless against lifesteal.

PRO'S:
Can be built to do some nasty DMG
Has nice utility
Ult is useful with gods who have AoE Ults
Con's:
Can be useless as a tank depending on your team layout
Rely's heavily on communication
Squishy to mage if full DPS
At the start, you want to tank exp buff tank or not tank. Hand of God's is pretty good on Odin because his damage output with auto-attacks isn't enough and has no skills to heal himself.
Later on if built lifesteal + dmg you'll be able to solo gold fury and/or firegiant. Buff camps won't be a problem after lvl 3.
Use Ring of Spears on 2-4 people for maximum efficiency. Target the more squishy gods while your team knocks down the tanks with their other AoE ults aherm Zues. If everyone has jumps well then... you suck. MAKE SURE you bait sometimes. A tank role should always be the bait but make sure you actually have a team to ambush the ones taking the bait.
When going dps /w protection, don't be afraid to jump into a 2v1, your lifesteal and health regen will keep you alive. I usually get Purification Beads if i'm slowed by Ra or against He Bo with his water spout. You should be able to gun down He Bo or Ra before they take you down.
In conclusion Odin is a really fun to play from my perspective. Very strong early game and even stronger late game. I prefer building him a dps w/ protection and healers/lifesteal because it gives you more magical protection and HP5 which goes great with lifesteal. If you're up against a tanky team then I usually build full dps to take down those tanks. You can experiment with these builds but never give up.
Thanks for reading and good luck.

In my opinion his guiide is great because of the deathbringer it is a great item for the end as it is expensive and also it just fits great after rage because you not only are getting attack speed i feel like i need some attack speed before getting deathbringer just in my opinion.
okay
To be honest when im playing damage odin or bruiser odin, i almost never get odin's shout untill level 10+ because early game its really not worth the point into it. its better into gungirs might or his leap
Odin has very low attack speed at the start but i usually use it while in Ring of Spears, has great utility.
I think you should buy deathbringer a little sooner for the crit chance
