Hello guys, thank you for choosing to read this guide and hopefully my guide that's chaacful of tips will help, yes I know the pun was cringe worthy but I just had to :)
So with that out of the way, maybe you know me from me previous guides which have been several. If you are interested in my other guides, they are as follows: Anubis, Geb, Hades, Xing Tian, Medusa. Every guide begins with the same intro on feedback. I am open to criticism whether it's positive or negative, please feel free to express. If I get a downvote, please tell me why :)
P.S. This guide is not finished yet, pardon any mistakes. My rule is no bashing on me until my guide is complete :) once it's all well and dandy then the roasting may commence. Smite fire is not allowing me to post my full build which is why only the starter shows. But keep scrolling to the items section and you will see the build there :/
Pros
1.Is very tanky if you build him defensively
2.Great sustain with Rain Dance
3. His passive Overflow is very convenient if used properly
4.Great escape with Thunder Strike Torrent combo
5.Great secondary ability effects that combine with Thunder Strike
6. Storm Call is great for tower diving, initiating a team push, and just being annoying
7.His voice pack is the best to spam :3
8. Thunder Strike is a great poke ;)
Cons
1. Storm Call doesn't do too much damage as you would expect
2.His Cooldown can be slow without some CDR
3. Torrent doesn't do much by itself, really its obsolete without using Thunder Strike first
4.His damage isn't the best overall, others will agree that there are better warriors
This build is focused on making Chaac tanky, yet able to hold his own in a fight. With this build you are a tank and once you finish your lane, you can help your team and chaacblock your enemies :DDDDD ok ummm yeaaa here we go
Starter
Combat Boots- 2nd stage item which will eventually build to Warrior Tabi
Healing Potion x3 Mana potions x3- All of this will be used for sustain. Most likely you will be playing Solo in Conquest(hopefully) so you need all the sustain you can get.
Core
Warrior Tabi-The extra physical power greatly helps along with Movement Speed
Jotuun's Wrath-This item is great for every warrior as it has CDR, Physical power and penetration. Plus you get +150 :D
Stone of Gaia- Great for sustain and an HP increase, gives you great magical protection as well if going up against a mage or a team consisting of magical damage.
Frostbound Hammer- Gives you a great increase of health, and physical power increase(25). It's passive is great with Chaac because your basic attacks reduce enemies Movement speed and ATK speed by 30% for 2 secs. This item goes GREAT in combination with his Rain Dance.
Late Game
Mystical Mail-Gives great health and physical protection and it's passive deals magical damage in a radius every second. This is great since you will be getting up close and personal
Winged Blade- Gives you Movement and ATK speed increase. More CDR and it gives you a nice chunk of health.
The items above have always worked for me, but of course this build can be adjusted to meet your standards if you don't agree with some of my items
Situational/Alternatives
Breastplate of Valor-Can be picked up instead if facing a physical powerhouse like Odin. Gives great CDR and extra mana. I sometimes opt out in getting it because health is more important to me and Mail of Renewal is a great in between.
-This is his passive and it can come in handy if used correctly. What it does is after 5 successful basic attacks, your next ability will cost no mana. Now it is up to you on how you would like to use this. Since you are building tanky, you will be getting up close and personal most of the time so building this passive up shouldn't be too hard. Once you have the passive built, I usually like to use Rain Dance as my freebie since it takes up a lot of mana and you heal yourself with no expense. If your health is relatively high, use the freebie on thunder strike for minion clear.
- This moves is so much fun to use and it's great for poking and it's your main minion clearing ability. The only flaw to it is that it travels slowly and can be evaded easily by someone who knows what he is OR SHE :3 is doing. Now not only does it serve as a damage ability, it allows secondary effects to take place with his other abilities which will be covered in the next section devoted to it.
-This ability is meh by itself. He just does a spin an gain protections per enemy hit. It sounds great, but not using it in conjunction with Thunder Strike is pretty useless. Secondary effect is covered in the following section.
-Now this ability is your most important one as it heals your HP and keeps you sustained. Not only does it heal you, you gain movement speed and enemies caught inside the rain will be slowed. Great for chasing enemies and keeping them contained. The only flaw with this ability is that it takes up a nice chunk of mana, but if you utilize Overflow smart enough then this shouldn't be a big problem.
- This is his ult and it has it's uses. First let me mention that it's damage isn't great, even though it looks powerful and OP don't mistake it and get cocky thinking it will destroy gods. When used, you mitigate damage by 50% while in the air and when you slam down you silence enemies for 3 secs. How you time this move is up to your gameplay style, I usually use this when someone is extremely low hp hiding in the tower. That's another thing about this ability, if you can learn to time this ult and not take too much damage in the process, then this ability is GREAT for tower diving to finish enemies.
I know I could have just mentioned his secondary abilities in the previous section, but it would have been too much paragraphs in one section. As you can tell from my other guides, I go into extreme detail and speak a lot. I'm not the type who say a few words that speak volumes, but I like to go into great detail to make sure the player understands and can relate to. Ummm ok ramble over, why is this here......
-When you used in this order, you will teleport to your axe and perform an extra spin for damage. To fully utilize this move, you can use this to hit an entire minion wave to gain the max protections. You can also use this to escape and escaping methods using this will be covered in a later section :3
- This will spawn another rain storm in place of the axe. This great for zoning enemies who are bunched up and to slow enemies down if you are engaged in a team fight.
[
- Using this will make storm call deal extra damage and will knock enemies up(Chaac is not a teen mom)
- A good minion clearing combo. Try to land the axe on as many minions as you can then teleport to it. Great for escapes
- This is one of Chaac's ultra combos. Once you teleport and being your assault on the targeted god, you use Rain Dance to heal yourself as you fight and slow down the enemy as the same time. A great combo for pushing, but make sure you will win the fight since it takes up a lot of mana.
- Now this is THE ULTRA COMBOOOO. After using the previous combo and if everything went well, the HP of your enemy should be low and he should be in full retreat towards his tower. If you still have any Rain Dance left over as he runs then GREAT that's extra speed. Don't pursue him to heavily yet as this is psychological. Let him think he is "safe" and as you see him to the animation to recall, Rain Dance so you can pickup speed and use [[storm call] All of these abilities can be used in any order you see fit. If you don't agree that this should be th order, then do your version :)
Now this is the best section in this guide as it fulfills two objectives. It keeps you alive!! and it pisses the living rage out of people :) There have been countless times where I escape with red health like 10HP and live. The only trick to it is you need to be a clever son of a gun to use it. Anyone can use it, you just need to acquire the "cleverness" to be successful with it. I'm sure by now you guys are thinking "wow who TF is this loser thinking his feces doesn't stink with his cleverness" but trust me, you get this down, you will feel like a clever son of a gun when used right. You have to learn to psych your enemy out and use some psychological tactics to confuse the enemy.
Let's say you are being chased by a single god like your opponent in the solo lane who now has the upper hand. Let's just say that if it's just ONE god chasing you, then you will most likely ALWAYS get away unless gods like Thanatos Ao Kuang Nu Wa end up killing you with their ult. As you are being chased just turn and aim your Thunder Strike and throw it into the jungle when you see an opening and keep running away from the axe. NOW here is where the psychology comes in, one of two things will ALWAYS happen. Like most people he will keep chasing you till the ends of the Earth hoping to kill you and if this is the case you simply use Torrent to teleport to your axe. Just make sure you get the timing down, doing it too early or too late will cost you. The other thing that can happen is if the guy chasing you is smart, he will be aware of the axe you threw into the jungle and will camp it waiting for you to teleport back. Now this is a rookie mistake of Chaac players who don't notice their chaser stopped and when they teleport BOOM they die.
Now if you noticed that your SINGLE pursuer stopped chasing you and is camping the axe, you simply just don't teleport to it and keep running in the same direction :) Now there is always a chance that you can fall victim to a jungler if they are communicating or plain bad luck by other players. If you can get this down, you will be able to escape someone chasing you basically every time.
Now if you are in a very sticky situation and the above method was not enough, you still have a few option. You can buy Combat Blink in the event you know you will die or if you don't want to use the active and there is an ally or tower near you can run to, but you used up the previous abilities and on red health and you just need a little distance, use Storm Call so you can go forward slightly and mitigate 50% damage and at the same time silence the enemy if he is really up your rear, then the only form of attack he can do is basics for the next 3 secs.
Yes I know Chaac jungling? WTF????? But yes, Chaac can jungle temporarily to assist allies who need help pushing or just to plain out assist them. Now never start jungling or roaming around UNTIL you take your solo lane. Most of the time when I play Chaac and the solo laner isn't being to cancerous, I usually win solo and take down both towers before any my team does in their lanes. Usually when I'm the first one to finish pushing my lane, THAT'S when I start to jungle and help the team. Other than that, if you still have towers up, don't start roaming until you take your lane.
So assuming you took solo lane down already, now you can go and help allies. If someone is pushing your mid you can Thunder Strike out of nowhere to hit the enemy for poking damage. The thing when you creep with Chaac is not to do a lot of damage or get kills, but really just to poke the enemies and have them retreat a bit allowing your ally to push. Let's say Sol or Kukulkan is pushing your mid, you use Thunder Strike out of nowhere to damage the enemy and then use Rain Dance to spawn another rainstorm to make use of zoning. If your duo lane is getting pushed, you can pop out and use Thunder Strike and after use Storm Call for increased damage and the 3 sec silence should allow your duo to push the heck out of the enemy duo lane.
Chaac is a great team player. Let's say you are pushing with your team, Chaac is usually the initiator. A great way to start an initiation to a team fight is to use Thunder Strike [storm call combo to silence as many enemies as you can so your team can go HAM on them. Using [[rain dance on Thunder Strike is a good way to zone enemies or keep them back during a fight.
