Skills

Passive

Every ones favorite passive! now supports cant "kill steal" from there carries like Kali so they won't be salty anymore (hopefully). Also this passive is perfect with Guardian's Blessing and you should get it in every game mode (except duel i guess)! You can also hit a jungle camp with Turn of Fate and then just move back to lane quick while your teammate finish it off and also you can stack minion kills for your carry.

1

who needs a pusher when you can make anyone a pusher. This ability has huge burst lane clear for a guardian even in early levels and it compares to Khepri and his Rising Dawn. To use this at its full potential you you will need to hit 5 targets so if you see an enemy standing near there minion wave... BLAST THEM ALL! Also this combo so well with Void Stone and Remove Obstacles... just watch them melt...

2

His main peeling ability. Think of it like AOE Moonlit Waltz + Shroud of Darkness so don't just use it for the silence and pop it as soon as you hear big mage burst incoming like Rain Fire or Earthshaker. But of course the silence is the scary part of this ability it is aoe and lasts 1.8 seconds all levels... use it to prevent enemy escapes and to cancel channeling abilities or prevent them from being cast in the first place. I highly recommend you to set this ability to Quick cast!

3

Single target stun, decent damage and escape with free Phantom Veil built in. Once you use it its good to follow up with your Ohm tho be careful cause if you miss Remove Obstacles you might be caught with your trunks down... get it? ugh never mind...

Ultimate

All you old Nu Wa players will remember this one! Takes some time getting used to but there are many tricks and mind games you can do to screw over your opponents. It has an insane range so you can peel for you allies from a far or chase enemies. For example you can use one pillar as a wall either to block a path or to use it as a shield against hunters. If an enemy is right next to a wall then you can cast the ult behind them so that they are zoned and they either have to go all the way around or use an escape (unless you Ohm them) or go right trough 2 barriers! Or you could just trap them in the center and CC them with Ohm and Remove Obstacles. Don't forget that this ult CAN shred hard so you need to burst something fast you can cast the damage part of the ult directly on them. And if you're getting focused and need to get out you can place down the ultimate on yourself and run!

Items

START:

It's a supports best item and for Ganesha it's like the Yin to his Yang! You can just clear hard and not worry about stealing last hits. Get it every game no exceptions. Don't forget to sell it once your got other 5 items.

Once you get this you wont need to worry about buying wards all the time. Early warding is quite underrated cause not getting ganked helps alot. 2 wards can be placed every back so after 4 backs/respawns 8 wards can be placed and by then it pays for itself! Enjoy your free vision. The sooner you get it the more wards and cost efficiency you get. Otherwise get is as soon as you feel comfortable too.

No one wants to Ward but everyone wants to Win. Early game you want these Healing Potion Multi Potion Ward and Midgame to Lategame you want these Ward Sentry WardPotion of Physical Might Potion of Magical Might. And if you're not a Hunter than this Rule applies to you! Counter warding is a more advanced but necessary tactic... you want to place those on the Fire Giant and around mid lane and Gold Fury (you can place the ward directly in the gold fury makes it harder for the enemy to Sentry Ward it)

If you need early speed and to finish boots faster.

Early sustain is important!

SHOES:

Great shoes for any support especially against Damage over time and attack speed.

Great if you need to use your skills as much as possible like Ohm

Solid item if behind and to rotate around the map fast.
!!! If your build is done you can sell Shoes for .

CORE:

Basically Sovereignty + Heartward Amulet = Gauntlet of Thebes. You want to get this Right after boots in most situations or after Sovereignty or Heartward Amulet

Early hp5 helps a lot early not to mention the huge physical protections with the aura lets you tank hunters minions and towers + make your team safer. Get Sovereignty right after finishing boots if you are against 2 Physical gods in duo lane.

Same as Sovereignty but magical version with mp5. Helps alot againt aoe magic damage. get it if you are against 2 magic gods in duo lane.

COOLDOWN:

Spirit Robe offers nice protections but no health and some CDR and defense against it. Since Ganesha is a Tank with long cooldowns he will be in the middle of all the action. He will take Damage, Crowd control and do the same to the enemy so Spirit Robe offers nice balance of those things.

Basically a more expensive and potent version of Spirit Robe and the passive come in really handy when you're in those close fights. Mantle of Discord helps you too escape since its an automatic self peel and Purification Beads also helps you in fights and people usually don't expect the stun. Getting bought Spirit Robe and Mantle of Discord is not a bad idea since for 5400g you get a lot of protections, 30 CDR, and CC protections + a stun and Purification Beads.

Something to consider if you're against a 4 physical gods and maybe if you're far ahead.

Also to keep in mid if you go against magical gods.

SITUATIONAL:

Anti hunter item basically. It slows them and lowers there DPS so if attack speed is a problem like Rama or Kali you won't regret buying.

Anti slow item that can be built on any god in the game. If gods like Ah Puch, Bastet, Poseidon, Kukulkan, anyone with Gem of Isolation, Ares, Ravana or a slow heavy team in general giving you problems then you won't regret getting this one. There are alot of slows in the game and slows turn into speed boosts and enemies hardly expect it tho cooldown takes a while so watch out.

Anti heal item get it against change, Ra, Aphrodite or even Guan Yu and Hercules any god that can heal a lot.

Anti CC item against a hard CC heavy team like Ares, Artemis, Neith, Nox basically automatic Purification Beads.

Anti Physical power It acts somewhat like Sovereignty useful against gods like Kali, Skadi, Mercury.

Good against Auto Attack heavy gods like Rama, Kali, or any Hunter. Pairing it with Shield of Thorns will make a hunter commit suicide if they hold left mouse button on you.

SHRED:

Great pick if you want to deal more damage and help your teammate deal more + magic protection. Dharmic Pillars + Sundering Spear + Turn of Fate
+ Void Stone... now watch them melt!

Cheep item to pick up if you feel confident that your team will follow up on your CC + protections are nice. You can also sell it once your build is done.

RELICS:

Simple item for melee gods to position themselves... Most likely in the enemy's face :)

Magic Shell+ Ohm+ Sovereignty+ Gauntlet of Thebes+ Heartward Amulet = OVER A 100 PROTECTIONS FOR YOUR TEAM! in a teamfight this can Turn things around fast.

Stop hitting yourself stop hitting yourself! Effective against highburst squishy gods like Vulcan, Zeus, Scylla. Its always hilarious when a mages like Vulcan or Agni leaves there Inferno Cannon/ Path of Flames and runs with low hp while you just step into the damage and pop Shield of Thorns. Hide of the Nemean Lion+ Shield of Thorns can make any hunter twitchy with fear.

A fine anti slow relic to boost your teams speed and counters slows. It also allows your team to either run away faster or to chase especially if your teammates lack mobility. If Enemy has a slow heavy comp this will be useful too. Also it allows you to control your team like a leader cause when your team hears you POP Heavenly Wings you flee they flee, you attack they attack and it also intimidates the opponents.

Anti attack speed + extra cc. Counters hunter and helps you chase them. works well with Dharmic Pillars+ Ohm.
Meditation Cloak
Best for Assault and counters execution gods such as Ao Kuang, Achilles and Thanatos just pop it right as they about to execute you or your teammate and quickly peel with Ohm and Remove Obstacles.

Gameplay

Supporting:

As a support your role is to defend your team and disrupt the enemy with your cc and shred. Early game stay with your adc in the duo lane near the gold fury and help them kill the minions with Turn of Fate and then aggress if you clear first if not fall back and defend you adc. As soon as you can start roaming through the jungle warding and helping the jungler with camps and ganks in middle but don't forget to keep an eye on the adc if they get attaked go help them fast! Mid to late game, you should help push objectives like towers, phoenixes, The Gold Fury, portal demon and Fire Giant. You should also clear minion waves and defend towers when your team is not around. Here are some guides for more knolage:
*S6 Support Guide*
*general Support Guide*

Fighting:

the trick is to keep the enemie locked down so your teammates can apply there damage on them. Ganesha kit works like so:
if you see an enemy in a bad spot for example they are far from there team, they are too close you or your tower or used there escape but you can still reach them with your skills. Then start the fight with any of your skills, order not as important but better start with Turn of Fate then Remove Obstacles/ Ohm or vice versa just keep them CC'ed for as long as you can and use you big fat elephant butt to block the enemies path. Or start with Dharmic Pillars then follow up with the rest of your kit. You really cant go too wrong with Ganesha as long as you don't miss, oh and try not to blow you load too soon. keep in mind that Dharmic Pillars can be escaped easy if the enemy has jumps or dashes but Ohm+ Remove Obstacles is the tool to stop them from escaping.

Escapeing:

Getting your bum out of danger is something you will be doing a lot in smite and luckily Ganesha can do it well. Remove Obstacles is the primary escape tool tho be careful cause it can be body blocked just like
Glorious Charge and Ohm is also useful for preventing enemies from bursting you down while you run. If you really in danger don't be afraid to use Dharmic Pillars on yourself to get out and if all else fail you can always juke move in unpredictable zigzags.

Summary

In a nutshell Ganesha is the most pure support god in smite Bringing a lot of peel, CC, clear, shred and even decent damage for a Guardian.
Thank you very much for checking out my first guide I hope you found it useful or learned something. The reason i wanted to make it is cause i wanted to find a guide for Ganesha but couldn't find an in depth one anywhere so i took responsibility and shared what i know. Too many potions for your start, instead get Guardian's Blessing, Shoes, and 3 health and 3 multi pots.

And you listed nemean twice.

Also add witchblade, relic dagger, frenzy relic, cursed ankh relic, phantom relic, oni hunter's garb, shogun's kusari, mantle of discord, magi's cloak as situationals.

Also would be nice to see an example build as well.

hey Kriega thanks for your feedback i derp on the nemian poart :D
and i might add an example build.

Reason why so many potions and no boots?
sustain early game is so strong
you can stay and farm in the lane for much longer and safer
when you're full hp and your opponent has to back you have the advantage
early sustain > 6% movement speed (especially if you have sprint/dash)

Witchblade, relic dagger, frenzy relic, cursed ankh relic, phantom relic, shogun's kusari, mantle are very situational and are rarely needed in most situations. I want to focus on the bare minimum scenarios so that newer players would get a basic idea on how the god works. if you want a complex ALL situations possible guide with a walls of text go look for a different guide.

this is only my opinion and what gave me success I'm no pro
so yeah cool that you checked out my guide and bothered to comment too i really appreciate it <3

The point of getting tier 1 shoes isn’t for the movement speed, it’s for the gold investment so that you’re getting your full tier 3 shoes in your build before the enemy Support does. Also the fact you spend so much gold on pots makes me think you should just invest into health chalice instead. To be honest, 3 health + 3 multi pots + guardian’s blessing is over enough sustain for the laning phase.
