Hey guys.
I'm Onag3ZaBoss and this is my first god guide/build I have ever done, so if you could leave some feed back down in the comment section Below. I'm going to try and use BB coding, but I probably will get some wrong, so if you come across any words which I have failed coding, please let me know. Anyway, this guide is going to be about the Tank/Support god Hades I will try and teach you how to be an efficient solo/mid lanner as well as a good lane partner.
Inevitably, death sends everyone to Hades, God of the Underworld. In the end, he always gets his way.
Eldest son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, Hades was swallowed by his father as an infant along with five other siblings. Zeus, the youngest brother, escaped this fate and freed them once he'd grown strong enough to battle Cronus. Together, the six siblings defeated the Titans and banished them to the dark realm of Tartarus. Now the reigning Gods, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots for dominion. Hades drew the Underworld.
Of the few that have entered the Underworld and come back, all speak dismally of the place, never wishing to return. Yet Hades, himself, rarely leaves the subterranean realm, constantly seeking ways to grow the numbers of the dead.
When he desired a wife, Hades captured the radiant Persephone, daughter of the Goddess Demeter. Concealed in the Underworld, none could reach her, so Demeter cursed the land with great famine. The other Gods pleaded with her to end it lest she destroy mankind, but she would not relent until her daughter was returned. Hades finally let Persephone leave, though not before feeding her pomegranate seeds. Having consumed the fruit, she was required to return to her husband once per year to eat of the seeds again. This, it said, is a time of mourning and the cause of winter.
While many fear death and view it as evil, in truth, Hades endeavors only to keep balance. He is stern but fair. As God of the Dead and the Underworld, he views his authority on this matter absolute, forbidding anyone to leave his realm and growing wrathful when disobeyed or when someone tries to cheat death or steal from him.
For everyone, death is unavoidable and service to Hades inevitable. Even the gods.
Pros
Great life steal
Great sustain
High damage and health
Awesome ult
Cons
Can be squishy if not played right
Shoes of the Magi
50 magical power
250 mana
Unique: 18% movement speed
Passive: Gain 15% magical penetration
I think this is a great starting item for any damaging mage, because the speed it offers is really useful, as well as the power and mana. The passive is neat as well.
Pythagorem's Piece
70 magical power
300 mana
15% magical life-steal
Aura: +20 magical power and +10% magical life-steal to all nearby allies
Now we are starting to get some life steal. This is a great item to get after boots because mainly of the life steal, but the 300 mana and 70 power is also really nice. The aura is really good considering you are a SUPPORT god
Polynomicon
75 magical power
10% magical life-steal
300 mana
Passive: Using an ability gives your next basic attack within the next 5 seconds +100% of your magical power as additional magical damage. This effect can only apply once every 2 seconds
Awesome. I love this item because it gives you a fair bit of power and mana, as well as 10% life-steal, not the mention that the passive is awesome because once you dive in with your combo (which I will explain later) if they are still not dead, they you will usually just use basic attacks to finish them off, and this item really helps this.
Bancroft's Talon
100 magical power
12% magical life-steal
Passive: You gain 1 magical Power for every 1% of your missing health
This is a great item to get next because it offers lots of magical power, and the passive allows you to gain even more power every time you loose HP. It also has life-steal which is the whole point of this build.
Divine Ruin
50 magical power
15% magical life-steal
150 mana
Passive: enemies hit by your abilities have 25% reduced healing and regeneration for 3 seconds (max 2 stacks) (does not stack with brawlers beatstick)
This is a great item because of its life-steal and power, as well as offering some mana. The passive on this item works great with Hades because of his combo (again, which I will mention later) and how it can stack twice, which is the amount you need in the combo.
OPTIONAL SIXTH ITEMS
You have to choose 1 from the next 3 items to complete your build.
Rod of Tahuti
125 magical power
15 MP5 (mana regeneration)
Passive: increases magical power by 25%
This is a great item to wrap up your build if you find that you aren't dishing out as much damage as you would like to. The rod gives you a **** tone of magical power, and the passive increases your already high magical power my 25%, so with this, you'll be dishing out more than enough damage. (This is at the end of the build because of the price of this item)
Void Stone
50 magical power
50 magical protection
Aura: reduces the magical protection of enemies within 15 feet of you by 25.
This is a good form of magical protection for a damaging mage, because it also gives you power, as well as protection. The aura on this item also makes it easier to kill your opponents.
Breastplate of Valor
75 physical protection
550 mana
Passive: reduces all your abilities cool down by 25%.
This is a great item if you are finding that you are dying or taking too much damage from a physical god, because it offers a decent amount of physical protection, as well as giving you HEAPS of mana, which is always useful.
Actives
Pick 2 of the 3 actives below.
Shard
Using this item will give you 15 health and 10 mana, plus the same amount per charge. Charges are gained when an enemy god uses an ability within 80 feet. Charges are not gained while the item is on cool down. Max. 29 charges. 25 second cool down
This is a useful item for early game sustain, when everyone is still in laning phase.
Shell
Using this item gives the owner and his allies a +30 protections buff for 5 seconds. 90 second cool down
This is a good item for you to use because Hades is a Support god, so your allies will be expecting you to support them.
Girdle of Might
Using this item gives all allies in a 35 foot radius a +30 and 15% physical power buff, and a +60 and 15% magical power buff for 10 seconds. Allies also gain +10 magical and physical penetration. 90 second cool down
This item is a good active to get for the same reason as the shell.
I recommend getting Shard for early game sustain and then shell or Girdle of Might to help your allies.
I don't know how to code the skills yet, so if someone could leave a comment stating how, it would be much appreciated.
Blight
Hades' normal staff attacks apply a debuff on the enemy, called blight. This debuff stays on the target and can be refreshed. If enemies are effected by blight, each of Hades' other powers have an additional effect.
Death from below
Hades dives into the ground, erupting at his ground location, doing damage to all enemies in the area. If the enemy is blighted, they are also slowed. Applies blight.

Damage: 50/90/130/170/210(+70% of your magical power)
Slow: 20/25/30/35/40%
Slow duration: 2 seconds
Cost: 50/55/60/65/70

Shroud of Darkness
Hades silences all of his enemies in front of him in a cone. If the enemy is blighted, they are also feared. Consumes blight.
Ability: Cone

Cost: 80
Cool down: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds
Devour Soul
Hades devours the souls of his enemies, dealing damage in a radius around him. If the enemy is Blighted, the enemy explodes dealing damage to nearby enemies and healing your allies. Consumes Blight.
Ability: area
Affects: enemies
Damage: Magical
Radius: 20
Damage: 75/110/145/180/215 (+60% of your magical power)
Detonate damage: 20/27/34/41/48 (+50% of your magical power)
Detonate healing: 30/40/50/60/70 (+15% of your magical power)
Detonate radius: 20
Cost: 65/75/85/95/105
Cool Down: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds.
Pillar or Agony (ultimate)
Hades calls to all enemy souls nearby, pulling them closer to him over time, doing damage every .5s for 4s. If the enemy is Blighted, their protections are reduced.
Ability: Area
Affects: Enemies
Damage: Magical
Radius: 30
Damage per tick: 50/65/80/95/110(+35% of your magical power)
Protections: 40/50/60/7080
Protections debuff: 10/15/20/25/30
Protections debuff lifetime: 4 seconds
Cost: 100 mana
Cool down: 90 seconds
I think that Devour Soul is the best of Hades' skills, (other than his ultimate) because it can deal a lot of damage, as well as heal you. This is why I would level this first.
Hades is a great solo lanner, so try to call mid in the god selection. If someone else wants to go mid, then don't worry, Hades can lane with a partner really well too.
A good way to farm minions and get kills early game is when you hit level 2. Yes, only level 2. This way you your Death from below and Devour soul skills. You simple just have to use your Death from below so that you can teleport, and apply blight to the minions or an enemy. After that quickly use Devour soul so that you do heaps of damage, and heal any of damage you may of taken before. Another good combo is when you hit level 5 and you have your ultimate. You must dive into the battle using the combo I have just said, but at the end, finish it off with your ult. This way you can finished off your enemies, plus draw some more in, so that your laning partner can use a high damaging AoE ability. (Gods like Zeus or Poseidon have really good ults). If you manage to pull this off in the middle of a team fight, then you will get a kill, maybe a double, and a lot of assist if a teammate uses his ult.
Thank you for taking the time out of you day to read my guide on Hades. Again, this was my first guide I have ever done, so please leave some comments giving me some useful feed back. Please don't down-vote the guide because you don't like it, just leave a comment in the comment section telling me what you don't like, and I promise I will fix what I did wrong (within reason).
I hope you achieve a positive K/D ratio by following this guide, and you enjoy playing Hades as much as I do. I'm not going to be asking for you to up-vote, because I don't really care about how many views I get or how many up-votes I get. I only worry about if this has helped you or not.
I am Onag3ZaBoss and until next time, BYE

Just look at the date of the guide ;) It is 2 years old. It is great that you give feedback but this guide is too old. You can check the date of the guide on the top of it ( and by having an active that is no longer in the game ;)
Soon to be two actives, Shell is going away.
This guide is still floating to top of the page...
1. Building Divine Ruin is a waste of an item slot. Its passive isnt very good, and the numbers could be better.
2. You dont have penetration. Hades needs penetration from items because Hades needs CDR boots. Without CDR, you are a lame duck and are almost worthless in 1v1 fights
3. Rod of Tahuti is not optional. This is a MUST
To sumarize, you need to get rid of Pythagorems Piece and Divine Ruin, switching them out for Obsidian Shard and Rod of Tahuti. Your final item can be lifesteal, but I strongly suggest Soul Reaver. This is what I suggest, in build order.
- Shoes of Focus
- Bancroft's Talon
- Obsidian Shard
- Rod of Tahuti
- Polynomicon
- Soul Reaver
Hope this helps!
Glad this build has helped you. This is the build I always use and I'm glad someone else thinks its useful as well. The rest of the build just explains a hades combo that I use and stuff like that, so it's not really all that important for you seeing that you can already destroy people with it :). P.S. I LOVE the Nightmere skin it's awesome.
Big thanks for the +1 and comment it really helps me and let's me know that this build is working. I'm thinking of updating it soon so check back later if you want.
Anyway thanks again and BYE!
