Introduction

Welcome to my guide for Scylla, Horror of the Sea!

I am a casual player who primarily plays conquest. Scylla remains one of my favored Mid laners by far, thus this is a guide for Scylla in the Mid lane. Do note: this is my first Smite Fire Guide and there are a variety of Items above, if some of them don't work for you, please do leave a comment of the things that should be added/edited.

Regardless, lets move on to the Demon Princess herself, Scylla!

Items

Shoes of Focus - Most people would choose shoes of the magi on most mages, but I prefer Shoes of focus because They give you some Mana early game and they also provide you with 10% Cool down reduction. So basically they give you some early game sustain which is handy.

Book of Thoth - Book of Thoth is a good item on most mages. It gives you heaps of Mana and a bit of power. It also converts some of your current Mana into magical power, which is good with Scylla's passive mid game. So basically it gives you heaps of Mana and convert a tiny bit of it into magical power. This means that you still have a lot of Mana and a bit extra magical power!

Warlock's Sash - Warlock's sash is a great item on Scylla. It gives 50 magical power, 300 Health and 400 Mana The passive is also amazing : Gain 3 health and .6 magical power per stack. 5 stacks for a god kill, 1 for a minion kill max 100 stacks. The stacks also tie in with the Book of Thoth so you can be double stacking. ( Killing minions for two stacking items :P )

Obsidian Shard - Obsidian shard is a great item, granting the buyer magical power and an additional +33% Magical Penetration. This item makes Scylla able to take down enemies even quicker than before, which is a good thing because she can get out of there before enemy reinforcements arrive.

Polynomicon - Polynomicon is an Item that gives +300 mana and 75 Magical power and 12% magical life steal. Life steal on Scylla is really handy as it gives her more sustain in her lane when clearing minions and chasing gods.

Rod of Tahuti - Rod of Tahuti is an item that gives a MASSIVE boost of power. This item is usually built late game because of the cost, but you sometimes see it built early game. It also gives +30 MP5 ( Mana Per 5 Seconds ).

Bancroft's Talon - Bancroft's Talon is an Item that gives +100 magical power and +15% magical life steal. You get extra magical power and life steal as your health goes down which is a nice passive. Life steal on Scylla is good because If you're stacking and you're low on health for example, you can heal off the minions and get stacks while doing so.

Chronos' Pendant - Chronos' Pendant is an item granting tons more cool down reduction, power and MP5. It is a bit expensive though.

Winged Blade - Winged Blade is a nice CC immunity Item. It gives you health, CC reduction, Attack speed and movement speed, and it's passive enables you to be immune to slows for a little while and adds bonus movement speed for 4 seconds

Ethereal Staff - Ethereal Staff gives you health, magical power and crowd control reduction, and its passive makes you able to drain gods' health even quicker because your abilities deal extra damage equal to 5% of your targets health. So you can take a couple of hits and drain them completely which seems pretty handy.

Stone of Gaia - Now, you don't see Stone of Gaia on much mage builds, but I put it on here because I love the passive and health boosts. It gives health, HP5 and MP5, at this point you are a health regenerating machine, and this Item has two Passives. Passive one is : If you get hit by any CC ability, you gain CC immunity for 1 second. This passive has a 90 Second Cool down. Pretty neat if i do say so myself. And the second passive is, that you get 2% of your health regenerated every five seconds.

Book of the Dead - Book of the dead is an incredibly unique item, granting the buyer with extra magical power health and Lifesteal. It's passive being like the passive of Bulwark of Hope, Shielding the buyer with a temporary health shield when they drop below 20% of their maximum health.

Mantle of Discord - Mantle of discord is a great defensive Item. It gives +60 Physical and Magical protecitons and cool down reduction. Also, It's passive is neat if you are being chased, basically it releases a shockwave stunning enemies around you when you are under 30% of your maximum health

Early Game

When you are in your game as Scylla, the first things you will want to do is get yourself
your starter items. Then go to mid lane and ward right near the mid fury camps. This will grant you vision for incoming enemies.
Then, wait for the minion wave to spawn because minion waves spawn earlier than buffs in conquest S4. Then, clear about two waves and go do your damage buff. You can ping the ADC, Support or the Jungler for help if you need it and they don't come their selves. Then you just keep on farming the minions in your lane until you have enough gold to finish Book of Thoth. Then, return to lane with additional wards, and re ward in the same places, the mid fury camps. Do note : If the support or ADC dies, you will have to rotate in for them until they resurrect.

Mid Game

In mid game, everyone will be more leveled and have half of their build complete already so you must be cautious. Jungle vision really helps as being ganked isn't a nice feeling trust me. Mid game, you will want to ward in different places : around the Fire Giant and gold fury. Try kill the Oracle furies too because they grant you vision directly beside the gold fury So when and if the enemy team tries to kill her, you can steal it right from under their noses. Asking your team mates to ward is a good idea too because in Normal Conquest, most people don't ward.
Mid game is around 10-15 minutes into the game. More ganks will happen mid game so be very careful when you go gank someone's lane yourself. You will want to keep on getting the damage buff unless your ADC gets it instead.
Try get your team to kill the Gold fury too, as this will help in finishing the build, and a finished Scylla build is monstrous ( Ba dum chhh )

Late Game

Late game is the stage of the game usually around 25-30 ish minutes into the game. Taking down towers is absolutely needed at this point as the game is coming to a close. Try eliminate the enemy team an pop a sentry ward around the fire giant as you and the enemy team will want his buff at this point.
Why Eliminate the enemy team? you might ask. Well, It's nice to not be distracted when doing the fire giant. And it being stolen from right under your nose isnt nice either.
So Try your very best to make sure they are all dead, or they are all at base or something.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
  • Exremely Powerful
  • Quick and suprising damage with Crush
  • Good waveclear
  • Great mobility and escapes
  • Can escape enemy ultimates easily with her Sentinel
  • A nice rooting ability Sic 'Em
  • Amazing Ultimate
  • Great 1 + 2 combo
  • can Travel around the map a lot with Sentinel
Cons:
  • Hard CC can cancel her escape
  • Not very good against CC at all o.O
  • Not a very good solo god.
  • Vulnerable to slows
.

Match-Up's

You can Match Scylla up with gods that can make sure that she lands her ult, Ares for example. His ultimate and Scylla's ultimate work well together and it can easily secure her a double, triple, quadra or even a penta kill.

but gods like Bacchus however are a counter to Scylla because of their enormous Crowd Control. That's why Purification Beads are necessary.

Conclusion

Scylla is a great god overall, one of the best mages in Smite.
A true rival to Poseidon and He Bo
I hope this helped anyone in one way or another. o/ Byee!!
