Update

In this recent update, Baka got some really good buffs. I will edit this guild once I have gotten used to the new Bakausra buffs.

So you have chosen Bakasura

Bakasura is considered to be one of the worst gods in the game to play; the reason this is so are in the pros and cons. Many junglers, like Hun Batz, Nhe zha, and Fenrir, tend to work much more consistently than Bakasura. This by no means makes Bakasura bad, he is just not as easy to play. If you want to dominate as a jungler, and are willing to put in the hard work, then look no further than Bakasura.

Pros / Cons

+ Crazy high damage early and late game
+ High jungle sustain
+ Lightning fast Jungle clear
+ One of if not THE best tank busters in the game
+ Ult destroys gods who rely on CC
+ Good escape
+ One of the best skins in the game (Feaster Bunny :D)

- Little to no CC whatsoever
- Chasing enemies who have leaps can be hard
- Team fights literally make his head explode
-Dies super fast sometimes before he can escape
- Cannot gank high CC gods without his ult or beads
- Has to make every attack a surprise attack

Skills

Insatiable Hunger (Passive)

Bakasura's attack and movement speed temporarily increases for each enemy that he kills.

Attack Speed per Stack: 10% Movement Speed per Stack: 10%

Buff Duration: 10s Max Stacks: 3

This is a pretty good passive because it adds to Baka's jungle clear and will let him get to more camps quicker, if used right it can help you escape or secure a kill but we will talk about that later

Take Down

Bakasura leaps to his ground target location, doing 100/160/220/280/340 (+60% of your physical power) physical damage to all enemies in the area and reducing their damage done by 20% for 3 seconds.

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana.

A decent leap. It comes out pretty fast, but the debuff is unnoticeable. Do not use this to initiate. Use it to escape, chase an enemy, or secure a kill. Leaping on the enemy to start a battle will either get you killed, or let your enemy escape seeing as they can just dash/leap/blink away.

Eat Minion

Bakasura grabs a minion and devours it, healing himself for 70/120/170/220/270 (+70% of your physical power) and gaining a 10/15/20/25/30 physical and magical protection buff for 5 seconds. Buff wielding minions must be at 33% health to be consumed. Up to 6 minions are stored for Regurgitate.

Cost: 75 mana.

Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 s.

This is an odd ability, and I see very few Bakas use it in the right context. It is actually very helpful. First, early game it serves as a mini hand of the gods, allowing you to eat the buff-holding minion and kill him quickly; it also heals you, adding to your sustain. You can also use this to guarantee a buff steal from an enemy. Speaking of healing, this can be a great getaway tool because it will heal Baka a decent amount, allowing him to take one more ability than usual. You can turn around and get back into a fight, or use it to run away. Either way, it is killing an enemy, activating your passive, giving you more movement speed and attack speed. This lets you run away faster, or if you are chasing someone in a lane, eat a minion on your way up to get that buff without really slowing down. If you need to use this boost in the jungle, then eat a small minion near a large one (preferably furies, seeing as it is less risky to run through a fury camp than it is to go into a buff camp, possibly trapping yourself when the enemy is in hot pursuit).

Butcher Blades

Bakasura passively gains 10/15/20/25/30 physical power. When activated, he gains an additional 10/25/40/55/70 true damage on each strike for 6 seconds.

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana.

Cooldown: 14 s.

This ability is Baka's best friend. Baka already deals high damage, but each extra tick really helps, especially when you are fighting a tank, seeing as the extra damage is not affected by protections. Use this ability in combination with your passive when in pursuit. Or, to clear a buff camp much quicker, do not use this on a fury camp unless you are in a rush. The only other thing I can really say about this ability is to be sure to activate it whenever you gank.

Ultimate - Regurgitate (Or as I like to call it OMNOMNOM)

Bakasura exposes his head, regurgitating all of the minions consumed by his Consume Minion ability at his ground target location that slows enemy players by 10/15/20/25/30%. Bakasura's basic attacks become cone attacks for 6 seconds. He is CC immune for the duration

Cost: 80/90/100/110/120 mana.

Cooldown: 90 s.

This will be your main initiator with ganking against high CC gods and tanks. Combine it with with butcher blades for even more damage. The slow is kinda handy but it is a bit hard to notice since the AOE of his stomach acid is so small. The minions he spawns are mostly useless. They can pull agro for a little, or on rare occasions, body block or land the last hit.

Basic things to know

So like most junglers, you are going to want to start the basic jungle route. With your teams mid furies, red for your self, and blue for what ever teammate needs it most as a thank you gift for them helping you get essential red buff.

-When getting your first red buff, use your eat minion to kill the buff holder early, and heal back some health if you initiated. Initiate against blue, because you will have healing abilities that team mates wont. This is common Jungle courtesy

-After you have finished your Tabi, the most important buff to you is orange. Gank faster, clear more camps quicker. Red is still nice, but Baka's early game damage is so good he dose not need to rely on it for camp clearing after Tabi.

-If you are ambushed in the middle of jungling by a tank trying to be a hero and ruin your buffed future, take it as a free meal. Since alone Tank's can do nothing to you.(Besides that blasted Bacchus but we will talk about him later) If they brought a friend, that is your cue to get out. If a mage or carry ambush you by themselves, you can choose to run or fight based on how confident you are in your skills

-Once you have your frost bound hammer, if you gank an enemy when they are at least halfway from their tower, you will most likely kill them.

Items

Bumba's mask

First item for a jungler. No questions asked, every one agree? Good, lets move on (Don't just disagree for the sake of disagreeing)As normal sell your mask at around level 19, and definitely sell it at 20.

Warriors Tabi
The penetration will allow you to clear the jungle pretty fast, even without the red buff. No real need to get ninja's tabi, because the penetration is more important than the cool down considering Baka really only needs to wait for his ult.

Heart Seeker

I have heard a lot of people start to question if heart seeker is worth the risk, seeing as if you die, you lose a great amount of your stacks. I think that is the wrong attitude to expect failure from your self, and the impossible attitude for Bakasura. Just by playing Baka, you are taking a risk, Baka is at a disadvantage in many scenarios, lets be honest with our selves. In a sense Baka and heart seeker are the same, high risk high reward. The two might as well go hand and hand. As for the seeker its self, what can I say besides amazing at max stacks. That is plus 100 physical power and what is not to love about that? I would buy this item in one purchase (After getting your Tabi, wait until you have 1950 gold to buy. once this number is hit buy ASAP)

Frostbound Hammer

Bakasura's CC is a joke. That slow on his ult does not last nearly long enough. This item helps remedy that, giving Baka the ability to chase down his foes that have their escapes on cool down, or no escapes at all. The damage boost adds even more power to Bakasura's already insane power. And the extra health, while it wont save your life to often, it is still a welcome plus. I get this over Fatalis, because it helps teammates catch up to the enemy you are chasing, giving them the ability to apply their CC to help the chase. And if the enemy has a slow of their own, chasing them will not be as hard, because you will be slow together.

Blood Forge

I prefer blood forge to soul eater, because Baka already gets attack speed from his passive, and the stacks on blood forge are incredibly easy to build when you have frost bound hammer. A fantastic life steal choice for Baka

Rage

This is pretty much the only attack speed boost Baka need's outside of his passive to deal massive damage. (Note I do not disapprove of building attack speed on him, I just do not think he really needs it.) And the crits rip tanks apart. A must have for any Bakasura build and this one is no exception.

Why you see no potions
Bakasura dose not need to spend money on potions for health or mana. His jungle sustain is good enough to save him a bit of cash. With this saved cash spend it on wards instead, he needs no other item besides counter wards

Why you see no void blade
I really just can not find the space for it in this build. Getting frost bound hammer 4th just feels odd, and Baka dose not really need that extra pen. You could argue that the protection helps, but most of the things that threaten Bakasura are magical, not physical.

The 6th item

Once you have sold Bumba's mask, a wide amount of choices are available. All of these are situational, and depend on your play style.

Qin's Blades

This is the final nail in the coffin for tanks. Any tank that has survived your ganks all the way to late game, will not be able to handle this damage. Great final item, even if tanks are not troubling you seeing as it gives that last bit of power and attack speed to make no one survive encounters with you. (At least when they are alone). This last item will make bruisers have the bulk of mages, and tanks have the bulk of bruisers

Fatalis

Ok so tanks, not a problem. But people keep escaping you with those annoying leaps, blinks, and dashes. This should help you chase them down, seeing as you are REALLY fast, and with frostbound hammer they can not have gotten very far, allowing you to secure the kill. (WARNING this is in theory, I have not gotten the chance to test this as a 6th item, since the situation has never come up, use at your own risk).

Jotunn's Wrath

Basically use this for the cool down if you want to leap more often, and pop your ult more often, get this. This is just an item of preference but can come in handy against CC heavy teams when ever your beads are down.

Runic Shield

Are extreme damage mages like Anubis and Poseidon killing you before you can kill them? Not with this item! This will give you a vital extra few seconds for killing these gods, seeing as their burst is higher than yours. Remember that slight amount of bulk frost bound gives you? Yea that helps a little here to.

Why you do not see Death Bringer

Yes this gives you more damage to tanks, but I find it to be a more expensive, less effective version of Qin's blades. Seeing as Qin's blades give you attack speed. Combine that with rage, Baka's passive, and you got your self more than enough damage. If someone can prove me wrong about this item's usefulness for this build, than I will add it to the 6th item list.

Your worst enemies

Bacchus

Bacchus is the one tank that Baka has trouble ripping through. Bacchus comes armed with a leap, a stun, and an ult that deals massive damage to Bakasura. Not to mention Bacchus has some of, if not the best physical protection in the game when he is smashed, and has an item like Hide of the Nemean lion. No god has given me more trouble with Baka as this drunk man.

How to counter

Bacchus is one of Baka's toughest opponents, especially late game. Early game you may be able to kill him with your ult. Beads can help you gank him more often. Otherwise late game, you are going to have to get him alone, and that is much easier said than done, because a good Bacchus will always stay with his team mates. When you do have an chance to kill him, save your leap for when he belly flops, or else you will be a very very sad Baka.

Arachne

Arachne is the one jungle god who can beat Baka in a one on one fight almost every time when they are around the same level. It dose not matter how much you hurt her, she is just going to cling onto you with her 3 and take back what ever damage you did, ultimately winning in the end

How to counter

The best way to ruin Arachne, is to simply run away. Use your leap to get over a wall, or cut a corner, what ever. And do not run in a strieght line or she will Ult you. What can you do once you have gotten away? Ruin her day by taking down any camp she could benefit from, especially the mid furies. Once you are more fed then her, (by around 3 levels) then you can take her down in one on one encounters. Also remember she may be scary in a one on one fight, but she can do nothing in a 2 V 1 fight, or even that much in a 2 V 2 fight. In other words, gank her when she ganks. And destroy any eggs you find along the way giving her less vision. You just got to last longer then her remember she is just like you, late game her life is much harder.

Anubis

Here is how most fights will go with Anubis. You gank him, and he mummies you. Then goes into lotus breath killing you. Or he goes into his ult or lotus breath and kills you. simply put his burst is higher than yours, and can kill you in a heartbeat.

How to counter
Definitely get beads, and save those and your ult for him. Also late game if you get runic shield as your 6th item, then you can kill him before he kills you. Also if he is pushing mid and pops his abilities on the minion's or a team mate, run in and attack as he will be defenseless. Not to mention in the middle of his abilities he is forced to stand still allowing you to get the first hit before he notices you almost every time.

Neith

Ganking Neith is hard, due to her back flip, and her ability to lock you into place. Not to mention that ult can ruin some of your getaways or ganks

How to counter
Take down is your most important ability for Neith, as it will let you chase her back flip, and get out of her lock when you are running away. If she manages to trap you with her lock after you followed her leap, pop ether your ult or your beads. Aegis is great for avoiding that ult of hers as well. If you don't have it then leap as far away as possible when you see that mark of pain and suffering pop up over your head.

Poseidon

Whirlpool, Kraken, tidal wave. We have all felt this deadly combo of Poseidon's in the past, and shall in the future. He is very capable of killing you before you can hurt him too much, and will if you are unprepared. He can also use his tidal wave to push you away and use his tide for the escape

How to counter

Once again your ult comes in handy here, seeing as his wave, Kracken, and whirlpool will not stun or slow you. How ever they will still hurt. Shield comes in handy here if he is constantly killing you late game. When ganking wait for him to at least pop his whirlpool.Aegis helps with the Kracken, but can give Poseidon time to get away.

Actives

Beads are your best choice, because they serve as a version of your ultimate for a shorter time, and will help you escape. Getting Combat blink can be helpful too, It adds more chasing options, letting you save your leap for initiation or to secure a kill. Aegis should only be gotten if you up against Poseidon and Neith.

Late game

Late game is where Baka can really fall short. I have gone from 13-2 to 17-12 during the course of late game. Here is what you can do to be as effective as possible late game.

-Kill any poor soul who is by them selves. It dose not matter who it is, (Besides maybe Bacchus) any one alone with Bakasura dies REALLY fast.

-Gank team fights.
Running head on with your team when approaching the enemy team is like running through a mine field. You will pretty much die instantly. So you are going to want to come in from behind and kill any one their squishy gods before the tanks can notice. Trying to kill a full health tank will give the enemy team enough time to notice you, and send all of their attacks your way. Even if you kill only one person, you still have helped your team and can retreat from there.

-Complete any objectives that need cleaning.
Sometimes your presence in a team fight is not what your team needs. Late game you can destroy Tower's and phoenixes quickly. Providing a distraction for the enemy team. If the enemy team is distracted by your team, you can run in with a minion wave and solo the minotaur winning your team the game

-Fire Giant
You can by no means solo the fire giant, but with another high damage god, you can take it down with only two people. If you take agro you can last long enough with your life steal to kill it. You will be low on health afterwards, but that is still giving your team the best buff in the game. Possibly giving you that final push to win the game.

Thanks

Thank you for reading my Bakasura guild. This is my first guild so please rate and tell me what you think of it. I hope it helped you get into one of my favorite gods, and I wish you happy feasting.

I'm just here to say your name makes you worth of an upvote in itself, and the build and explanations look satisfactory to me.

Hey thanks for reading the guild like I asked and for the advice. I am going to try to build blood forge early (instead of heartseeker) and get death bringer ether 4th or 6th. I will say in the guild if it works well.

Hmm... with most builds I see Fatalis as an absolute core item, yet you have deviated from this. Most interesting. I like the items, but I feel like items such as Fatalis and Bloodforge could be built earlier, in the core items, to give much more sustain.

There is also the Heartseeker. I have never in my time playing Smite seen a Bakasura build that item. If you're going 17-12 late game, then I would suggest making it an optional 3rd-4th item. Let it be built if the player is fed, but if not then maybe Jotunn's Wrath or Qin's Blades, or even Deathbringer since it's not here. All three of those items boost Baka considerably.

You have a lot of good information here, and I really like that you get the point across that in order to play Bakasura, you kinda need to be stupidly aggressive until late game. I like that you have a jungle route section which is something that a lot of jungle guides fail to mention.

Overall, you have a good guide going here. I think an excellent addition would be a section on Skill Sequences. Baka has very selective combos that work for him and I think you should mention those.
