Hello there, I have been playing smite since mid season 3 or so. Currently I am diamond 2 in conquest and unqualified in other modes(dislike joust if not with friends and duel). I decided to give it a go with posting some guides due to the fact that there is a shortage of them and since smitefire helped me out when I was starting out so might as well return the favor.
NOTE: All of my guides(well this is my first one, I meant on the future ones) are for conquest mainly, builds can be used in other game modes obviously. Do not take the guide for granted! I encourage you to discuss and find better build than from what I have putted up there.
Pros:-healing
-Good objective secure
-Fair amount of damage early to mid
Cons:-Low mobility
-Easy to juke skills
Builds are quite straight forward. Warlock Sash one is preferred if the enemy team has a lot of dive potential on you and since Ra doesn't have any escapes it comes in quite handy. Boots don't have to be necessary Shoes of the Magi but since you will be going chronos pendant if you follow this build, it won't hurt to have some penetration. As for situationals, it's quite simple. Spear of Desolation is my preferred pick up after Chronos' Pendant, Divine Ruin if they have above 180 magical defense. Etheral Staff is good for poking enemy frontline. Spirit Robe if you want more surviability, Winged Blade if they have a lot of slows, Rod of Asclepius if you want to be more utility based and Soul Reaver if you want to burst down squishy is one combo.
Early game: Ra doesn't have an insane amount of pressure on lvl 1, so starting with your jungler on speed to ensure that you hit your lvl 2 after the first wave is advised. After then it's pretty simple. You will be able to outpush most of the match ups in mid only exception would be Sol. After the 2nd wave you can look to contest/do the mid harpies(tip: hold your 1 to secure them) if not your red buff, after the red buff due to your passive you can manage to clear the back camp for extra experience and still reach to lane without missing a single creep from the wave(if the next wave is behind your t2 after you finish the red buff). Be wary of the enemy jungler's ganks. Right now you are just looking to farm up for either your Warlock's Staff or Book of Thoth.
Mid game: You have most likely finished stacking your selected item, got full boots and t2 of Chronos' Pendant. Now it's the time when 3v3s usually happen inbetween support, mid and jungler. If you are able to use your combo(1>4 or just your ult) after the CC chain from your support and jungler. Resustain them with your 3 after the skirmish. If you manage to get some picks on enemy team and you are fairly healthy, you can look to go for either a gold fury or pyromancer(once again after it drops from 2000 health hold your abilities to secure them, after you are the primary secure on your team most of the times.). Keep the wards up around mid entrances, keep the eye on enemy jungler.
Late game: Now it's the time for 5v5 team fights to occur, you need to be in particular wary of your position in late game since most of the assassins can just burst you down if you went Book of Thoth build, Warlock's Staff build will help you out a bit but still, avoiding any unnecessary poke or forcing of your relics. Look to follow up with your ult after your frontliner CC's one of the enemys, preferably a carry, use your 3 in middle of teamfight since it provides protection bonus for your team. Resustain your team if you are able to reset the team fight and remember to secure the objectives.
So summa summarum, be aware of your positioning, keep warding, use your abilities to secure objectives.
Thanks for reading the guide, if you have any advice how on what aspect of the guide to be improved let me know.
P.S. Thank DV-8 for the guide on inserting item description link!
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

Yeah, I'd say Soul Gem is deffo nice for the extra healing burst as well for damage, will include it once I update the guide. But it's not something I really prefer on Ra tho.
Nice first guide with solid information.
If you are still wanting to include database links like you mentioned at the end, I'd recommend you check out this guide, as it is full of helpful bb-coding information.
