Rama was one of the best hunter options in Season 2. He is still a top hunter but we shall see how he fares with all the new changes and new hunters for Season 3. I def. feel some of the ability-based hunters benefit the most from the Season 3 changes. The critical nerf hit Gods like Rama a lot since they rely on autos.
I've added a second build called "Build-O-Rama" to give new players a rough idea on how to approach their own custom build. It should apply to most hunters as well. Some combinations will be bad and some will be good so keep that in mind. Of course, nothing is written in stone but those are most of the core items you should be looking at in any hunter build.
Introduction
I've cleaned up, updated, and removed some older builds so be sure to check out what has changed.
The main build I have show-cased starts off with a lot of self-healing potential. Between Death's Toll and Spiked Gauntlets, you should be able to sustain mana and health. Pop a potion if things get rough. Be careful about pushing until you obtain Ninja Tabi. Getting flanked without boots will make your escape difficult. Your early game goal is to farm gold and build stacks.
The alternate build removes the need to stack and is cheaper. Both builds incorporate Hastened Fatalis to help with boxing.
The advanced builds are for players who are beginning to become competitive or prefer a high DPS build. Simply removing Hastened Fatalis for a DPS-oriented item does the trick here. While Hastened Fatalis allows for a better 1v1 boxing experience, making every shot count and having another DPS-oriented item will allow for the fastest slay times.
Keep in mind that Titan's Bane and The Executioner can be interchanged. Titan's Bane provides a consistent 33% penetration for you. The Executioner reduces enemy protections by 36% at 3 stacks (allowing the entire team to hit this target harder) and provides 25% attack speed. Be wary of your attack speed (you want to avoid reaching the 2.5 cap).
I like to use Wind Demon and Deathbringer in my builds. But you are free to change up the combination as you like. You can even play around with a triple critical build!
One may build Warrior Tabi first and sell it later for Ninja Tabi. The 40 power is better for early game push but the 15% attack speed is better for late game. If you are modifying the build and over-capping the attack speed, you can play around with the boots to keep yourself in check.
If you are falling behind (or the team is falling behind), rushing to a full build can help. Deathbringer is expensive so swap it out for Rage. Continue the build and sell Rage for Deathbringer later.
Don't pump Astral Strike into minions. Weaken them with it, but finish off with normal basic attacks to conserve mana. This is important early game.
Activate Pick Me Up BEFORE Astral Strike as it cancels the latter ability and you will have just have to reactive it. Having both of these activated will increase your DPS and it is your bread and butter when in a boxing match. It is also excellent in team fights as it pierces through and hits everyone in your line of sight (hitting targets also becomes easier with the wider hit box).
Pick Me Up and critical strikes alone are devastating. Astral Strike is a solid boost if you have astral arrows available, but do not be afraid to engage without them.
Don't use Rolling Assault to engage targets unless you feel confident you are going to be in a 1v1 situation. The damage boost isn't worth it and you have just used your escape in case the situation turns hairy. It is an excellent tool to chase as it cripples any opponent you hit (meaning they can't use movement abilities for a very short duration).
Finally, Astral Barrage is an excellent super for sniping weak targets. As a console user, it is difficult to hit all three shots. You can use it early in the game to damage enemies so they are forced to push back, but you will never slay them even with 3 perfect hits. You can basically snipe weak enemies that are running away or throw down a barrage of hits in a group fight.
If you are in a situation where both you and your target are weak, Astral Barrage can also be activated to help you secure the kill. It basically gets you to safety while allowing you to kill the weakened enemy. The wind up time is short, but you can die while activating it so be wary.
Relics
These are the relics I would suggest to accompany your build.
Meditation - This is a great early game item as mana/health are always an issue. Staying in lane longer means better farming. I don't find it as useful late game since life steal does the trick. It applies to your teammates as well allowing you to sustain in lane.
Sprint - This is a great escape and chase tool. It is my personal favorite. It is a solid item throughout the course of the game. It applies to teammates as well allowing you to support their escape. I generally always pick this up as my second relic in Conquest.
Purification - The cool down is long but good against dangerous ultimates with crowd control (i.e. Ares).
Sanctuary - This is a great tool in conjunction with Sprint as it increases your escape potential.
Teleport - I've been picking this one up more recently on any God I play. It is pretty self-explanatory, getting to your lane faster means better farming. I like it early game a lot because if I get into a bad situation, I can quickly retreat and come back.
Items
Transcendence - A lot of people are trying out Transcendence-based builds this season. Rama's Astral Strike kills his mana quickly so this item instantly helps him out. On top of that you get a 66.5 physical power boost at full stacks. As soon as you get this item online, you get a great power boost which really helps you push early game. This is a great item for ability-based hunters (FYI, Rama is not an ability-based hunter).
Ninja Tabi and Warrior Tabi - These are pretty self-explanatory items. One may start with Warrior Tabi sell it later for Ninja Tabi for more power early on.
Devourer's Gauntlet - I see a lot of people trying other life steal builds out for Season 3, but I still think this is still a solid item. The life steal is consistence with a great addition to power. You enjoy a 25% life steal boost and 60 physical power at full stacks.
Hastened Fatalis - A lot of people don't incorporate this into their build and some do. I am sacrificing damage for chase ability. You also receive a 30% attack speed boost which helps you reach closer to the 2.5 cap for attack speed. Having the ability to dance around your enemies can make you a sloppy player. Choosing a DPS item in place of it and focusing on making every shot counts will result in faster kills.
Rage - Rage was one of the better critical items in the game. There are currently a lot of options to choose from so it has taken the backseat in my builds. It has been nerfed for Season 3, it provides an initial 20% critical chance that increases up to 80% with each miss. Chances are, you will get a critical every 2-3 hits.
Wind Demon - This item is now a staple in my builds. The passive is amazing and pretty much stays active when coupled with another critical item.
Poisoned Star - Though not in any of my builds, the passive really helps in a boxing match. I prefer Wind Demon as the effect carries on with you from target to target and it has better stats.
Deathbringer - This item dramatically increases the critical damage and should be a staple in any build involving critical items.
Titan's Bane - This item offers the benefit of constant penetration. Assuming you will kill most targets reasonably fast, this ends up giving you better DPS than The Executioner.
The Executioner - This item recently got a buff. At 3 stacks, it provides a 36% protection debuff on your target. This directly lowers the enemy God's protections so every member on your team can inflict more damage on the target as well. The 25% attack speed can help you reach the 2.5 attack speed cap.
Asi - This cheap item quickly gives you lifesteal, some slight penetration for early game damage, and has a decent passive. It is excellent when you want to rush your build.

Firstly, Titan's Bane over The Executioner any day of the week as it takes too long to get the penetration from it.
Secondly, Asi works better then Devourer's Gauntlet as you're already stacking with Transcendence and you're better off getting this cheap item for lifesteal and moving on.
Thirdly, Hastened Fatalis isn't needed...It's a pretty much useless item on most hunters since you should be able to kill them before they even have a chance to start running and even if they do...You're ****ing Rama and should be able to deal with that. Also, you've got Pick me up so no need to get any more attack speed apart from maybe Asi and Qin's Sais
The build is a bit flawed but at least it works for you. Just hoping this works
Titan's Bane is consistent but I like the attack speed on The Executioner. In the end, the higher overall attack speed helps it shine just as well.
I have Asi listed as an alternate in case someone felt like that. Quick and cheap lifesteal item with pen. Indeed, Devourer's Gauntlet really slows the pace but really helps you shine end-game. If you think you are falling behind, def. better to pick-up Asi. At that point, you will may also need to switch to Warrior Tabi near end-game or risk going over the 2.5 attack speed cap.
Disagree with not getting Hastened Fatalis. Surely, many items in place can be just as beneficial but I feel a strong mobility game is crucial for any hunter even if you are not chasing. Even in a boxing match, you will be at the advantage. Clearing minions with enemies around you becomes a breeze. You can provide constant damage while enjoying life steal because you move so fast around enemies in team fights. At the same time, you can truly hunt an enemy with Pick me up when you see an opening.
I can't agree with your attack speed comment because my build revolves around one critical item, power, and high attack speed. The lack of a second critical item is balanced by a higher attack speed.

uhm, Hastened Fatalis is for the unicorn build, getting it is alright if your building unicorn...

Sorry but dislike.
1) If u decide to go into crits you need deathbringer with rage/malice or that new antiheal item. Deathbringer is the strongest late game item
2) double stacks are dangerous u may fall behind pretty hard
3) fatalis shouldnt be ur last item because actually u need chasing potential in mid game. Ichaival is also not a late game item
1.) Deathbringer was always a great late game item. The two critical build is still great for season 3. Personally, this build does better than a lot of other builds I have been seeing in season 3 so I still plan on working with it (but criticism is always welcome).
2.) I agree, early game is difficult to get going. It is actually one of the things holding me back right now. Good to know I am not wrong on this. I've changed some of the order and starting build out. I think the chance of falling behind now is much less.
3.) I also concur here, I am thinking of picking up fatalis before executioner but after rage. I kept both these items last because none of the other items are end-game items either. Fatalis didn't seem huge in season 2 either so I am surprised to see my inclusion as a must-have.
