Set, the newest God to come into the smite universe ams one to enjoy! Since he only came out yesterday I have been testing some jungle builds and have found these to be good as they can turn into a deadly barrage of damage. There will be more updates to set himself and to these builds.
Please, give me suggestions! There wont be many since he just came out.
It has come to this, an actual guide to set. Even though he hasn't even been here for a week, I have already started to do amazing with him. So let's get into this guide on how to play Set.
Set works in a very creative way as you can rely on your ranged abilities at times as this God can obliterate people with his abilities.
The Build
The builds here were created my me as all of them have been tested to their perfection, but you must know which is best for your situations. Let's start with the attack speed build.
To build the attack speed build, I took a note from Bakasura as he runs on hastened katana for most jungle games, as most jungle assassins build that as well, I just don't play other assassins for jungle other than Bakasura and Set. This build also runs with Asi as I have found out that the sandstorm ability gives you alot of lifesteal, so it can be used in life saving situations and it is built with the core, that plus stone cutting sword, executioner and crusher give power and attack speed, so this build can devastate your enemy at certain times.
The crit build on the other hand deals with your power and lifesteal and it can become a devastating punch to your enemy as the crits go up to 400 with rage and deathbringer.
The penetration build is a decent build for tanky enemies but it still lacks in some ways, please give me suggestions as I have been trying to test out this build.
The final build is my main build which focuses on attack speed and crit damage as you can win alot of team fights and 1v1s with the punch of the crit and how much damage it does to your enemy. Let me give you an example, a worrior with a decent amount of health and defence can have crit damage from 350 up to 400+ and is very useful in team fights, if you dont belive me, try it out yourself!
The Abilities
Set's abilities are one of the most creative abilities in the game, in my opinion, but I'll just tell you how to use them
Skewer
Skewer is a ranged ability that does damage on contact and goes through anything, I dont want to go too in depth with the abilities.
Spawn of Set
This ability is one that you wouldn't want to go against as Skewer can combo with this. Basically set summons sand clones of himself that attack anything around them and if you aim with Skewer, it will follow that and once you throw it, they charge in that direction, dealing damage. With this combo you can finish someone off at DOUBLE the distance of the first ability.
Sandstorm
Sandstorm is an ability that summons a sandstorm around you and blinds your enemies and at the same time damaging them. This ability is also used to teleport on your sand spawns only once when the ability is used to sneak up on your enemies and is great for ganking.
Kingslayer
Set's ultimate Kingslayer has multiple effects such as more movement speed. When you use this and start attacking enemy gods you can infinitely summon spawns until the amount reaches 8 and every 4 hits on a God summons one automatically and you can use Skewer to obliterate anyone in it's way.
That's all I am going to be teaching you for this guide, I hope you found this helpful and if you want to learn more about Set's abilities, click Here.
Give me more suggestions, I love them!

As you've asked for feedback, I'll provide some, though it's more hearsay than anything.
Firstly, in this case, I'm going to point you to DukeSloth's Youtube guide for him.
The biggest thing to point out here, which is also something I wrote in my patch notes discussion, is that Set has a strong early game due to decent damage output and low CD from Skewer. PonPon, in the patch notes show, specifically said he suggested going with more of an ability focus early, and transitioning into some basic attack items late. Set is a perfect example of a hybrid god that can make use of both in the same build.
That doesn't mean you couldn't go full ability or full basic attack...just that you're probably not going to be quite optimal.
So, after Tabi (which could also be Talaria Boots as a secondary option), the typical build path is going to itemize into items like Jotunn's Wrath, Hydra's Lament, The Crusher, etc. If you don't want to really go down that early ability path, you might consider The Crusher fairly early, rather than late. But remember that a lot of his damage can come from spamming Skewer, and that his escape or chase relies on the teleport capability from Sandstorm w/ Spawn of Set, and CDR is just pretty darn helpful.
In any case, this may just not be your preferred direction, and in that, that's okay, but just remember, probably not optimal. I'll first assume you're talking about Conquest, due to the use of Assassin's Blessing. Your "full attack speed build" is functional in terms of itemization, but you might also consider either skipping boots and going double-katana, or getting SCS a bit earlier, perhaps even before Hastened...remember, you've got a slow built into Skewer, and the early protection swing from SCS can be very helpful.
Don't see crits usually being a good thing for him, and in your "full crit build," that itemization is just not optimal at all. Your first (and only) pen item is in the 5th slot. You space out DB way late. And Bloodforge 4th...well, just say I don't like this build at all.
And for your "full penetration build," this is a case where you're picking up Jotunn's finally...but do yourself a favor and get it early. Then build into AS/basic attack items after that. And you might also replace HS with Crusher, or consider later lifesteal.
Don't get O-Bow. Don't get Golden Blade. Why would you get Golden Blade as a late-game item? Consider Void Shield as an option.
Just as a comparison, look at your Bacchus KDA. 4.42. 123 kills, 44 deaths, 143 assists, 75% W/L. Here's where I'd say you mostly messed up the competition. Set...not nearly as much. I always say, the KDA I feel you want to aim for is 2. 2 is a good base. It means, even if you didn't get a positive K/D, you participated in fights and got a lot of assists. Or it means you're going solidly positive in K/D.
But when people DO get mad at you, are you able to evaluate the situation and figure out what went wrong?
Save your KDA? Are you actually kidding me?
I'm thinking these situations are more complex than that, though.
Firstly, I play as a passive/aggressive type of player depending on the situation at hand, like the aggressive part where my team gets a head start on kills and I think that the other team is losing when I reality they have builds that can destroy us, so once I get that feeling of being aggressive I get a little too cocky as in doing a 1v2 or 1v3, i also recall when my mana is low and think that my team wont need me for a couple seconds a d then suddenly it turns into a deicide on my team. Then the passive way i play is the complete opposite when the enemy team gets a head-start and i play really defensive in order to survive. I do care about my KDA but I can easily screw that up in the long run.
